They said it was 2 new heroes and 6 new enemies. It looks like a girl from O-12 and a guy from the JSA(?) being chased by O-12 and Spiral Corps? I'm intrigued...

Outcasts looks very interesting. I'm hoping that in addition to the characters and enemies, it will also have missions.

They say there should be more information on it "this weekend."

Well, it's the 580k unlock and we're at 590k as of this moment. It'd be silly if they didn't reveal information as soon as Spain wakes up.

it unlocks at 580 EU we are at 597 USD that is a bit more than 534 EU.

Why Kickstarter decided to make the update and show projects at local currencies and not at project currencies I do not know.

Please assure me that the printed Defiance material is being translated or at least localized by qualified, professional translators who are native speakers.

Oh damn. The currency isn't in USD. Pardon my Americocentric bias and oversight.
Kickstarter automatically converts all amounts to USD, so I just assumed every number on there was in USD and not Euro.

Nah it is a common mistake I do not know why Kickstarter changed its simple and obvious "show the currency the project is in" to "automatically convert to local* currency" it makes things so confusing to everybody.

*Local if you are lucky many EU users see it in USD.

In terms of the translation, history tells us that it will be of the ‘hit or miss’ variety and that the overall organization of things will range from ‘inconvenient’ to ‘really annoying’.

CB has gotten a lot better about translations, the last few books have been great fluff wise. I just think that their rule writing in Spanish must just be bad and confusing. So unless they allow the translator to completely rewrite said rules you'll always have that side to CB.

Automatically Appended Next Post:
Wow. 70 Euro for an expansion with 6 missions and 8 minis.

That's an embarrassment.

Outcast is coming!

Hello!!!

Yes, the expansion that everyone is waiting for is very close. It's a good time to be an outcast.

The characters of the Defiance, on who’s shoulders rest the fate of the Human Sphere. Named heroes even before they jumped to the far side of the Acheron wormhole. Are now considered outlawed.

Marked as infected, and compromised by the insidious Shasvastii and their dangerous Specular Killers. However, even when branded as traitors the crew of the Defiance will do their best to survive.

With the help of Ensign Katherine Cho of O-12, who does not believe the official propaganda of her superiors. Also with mercenary operator Raoul Spector, who has previously worked with Katherine while undercover.

This expansion includes:

2 new high-quality metal miniatures: Katherine Cho and Raoul Spector
6 new enemies (Saladin, 2 Lynx, 2 Delta, and Gamma).
6 new missions
6 new double-sided tiles
+200 cards

In addition to appearing as an add-on (70€), we will open a new pledge: PLATINUM (250€) that will include the Shinobu Kitshune miniature for free (she is an alternative hero).

Also, we would like to congratulate everyone, since we have managed to unlock the dicetray.

This will be available as an add-on at a price of 10€.

As well as another Teseum Goal, the activation tokens in a better material. These tokens serve to mark if a hero has already been activated.

This Teseum Goal is available in all pledges (CORE, COLLECTOR'S and/or DELUXE).

Let's go! and unlock the following!

See you in the next update!

They're generally REALLY good for translations, even the rules. You occasionally run into something that reads a little weird, but not often.

Ugh, they're coming out with a platinum pledge that is the deluxe ledge plus the outcast expansion AND an alternate Shinobu Kitsune model, who will be a hero in the expansion for €250. *sigh* this is REALLY going to hurt me right in the bank account, that's for sure

for 70% of the core game price you're getting 6 missions vs 12 and 6 tiles vs 16. For as much as this game is costing I expect way more total hours of playtime.

O-12. Basically this is CB recognising that the base game is a tempting choice for anyone who purchased the Operation Wildfire box for the Shas army.. and now for the people who purchased Wildfire for the O-12 faction, they have a reason to throw some money at this KS too. Defiance is starting to look like a very expensive Beyond, Beyond Wildfire set!

Speaking of, just noticed that Gamenerdz has the Op:Wildstorm box on sale for $80, so that's now ordered. If I'm going to be spending so much on this KS then I might as well go all-in and get playable factions out of it. Sunk-Loss Fallacy, eat your heart out

Only problem with the expansion for €70 is that it's only 6 missions, feels like there should be more than that, especially compared to similar sci-fi dungeoncrawlers out there. Most also have 10-12 missions in the base game like Defiance does, but expansions also usually have 10+ missions

Apparently outcast doesn't come with all the minis you need it has tokens for a bunch of PanO stuff.

I'm begining to think the whole "Buy any Infinity mini and use it in Defiance" line will only count for the people that spend like $500 on it to get all the cards scattered around the expansions.

I feel like that was obvious from the beginning. You pretty much need cards (heavy iconography use precludes the use of text). They could potentially make a PDF with printable cards, but I had assumed that they would at least release card packs for stuff like Operation Wildfire. They seem to be rolling these into the expansions, which makes sense because there isn't a random mission generator, so they need to design new missions that use those units. Putting new models and making it almost $80 is the only real surprise.

I wouldn't expect too many expansions. Creating a new pledge level with a bonus mini says to me that they probably aren't going to be flooding the add-ons with expansions.

Well, Specter looks a lot better than his original miniature.

And since I got the O-12 set from Wildfire, this might be worth buying.

Mob Rule is not a rule.

They've so far only confirmed two expansions. I'd be surprised if there were four and give a 3rd a 50/50.

As for the use any mini since they were talking about it in various interviews I assumed that meant they'd have a create a character option but they clearly don't and they've now said that there won't be one during the campaign but they might make something post campaign. Same think with build your own campaign. I think both are likely but it's odd that they would bring up that the purpose of this game is to get people who like infinity to buy their favorite models and have a way to use them but then not. I was a fool to believe Carlos as this is clearly another one of his exaggerations and a large reason I'm grumpy about this KSer. It's pretty bad when your brand ambassador who is your main way of marketing can't be believed. But that's par the course with CB and Carlos.

Very much liking the Expansion, even if it is a bit pricey.

I'm very curious about how they'll do Katherine Cho's mechanics, as she doesn't appear to be "combat heavy."

Could take us even further towards RPG-like content (which I like).

Well, when it's purpose is to sell you minis first and game secondary, be happy you are even getting 6missions xD...I would not really count on them being great for that matter...

You are really the first person I hear that does not like the nightsticks Spector, I have heard arguments that this should have been the Spector model in the first place instead of the BS model, but not liking the Defiance Spector?

Far right outline? what else you make out except it has a Yu Jing drop trooper backpack?

OnTableTop has a new YouTube video which shows the content of the expansion, as well as what will be in the PanO and Aleph reinforcement boxes.

By the end of this thing, I'll have about two years worth of Infinity miniatures and it'll still be cheaper than GW's Necromunda box...

I’d be tempted if you could just back the expansion. I love those O-12 models.
