Looking very good QAR! And good luck with the laser eye (although you'll be fine!) Easiest 5 minute operation you'll ever have and never regret!

Yeah, nice work and good luck QAR.

Thanks dudes. I wanted to evoke a ww1 feel, but not just build a trench with sandbags and duck board base. I found a photo of a forest with all the trees destroyed by artillery and was inspired by that. Added the snow for a bastogne feel and to contrast the duller tones of the horse.

Great, so QAR’s painting knocks most of us into a tin hat and that’s before getting their eyes fixed(!)

Good work CB, loving the eyes and Scrolls.

I'm almost finished now, need to wait for the snow paste to dry then I will add some snow flock. Also need a colour for the dragons tongue if anyone has any suggestions.

Sister is looking very nice Captain Brown! I also envy people, who are able to paint eyes, I never seem to manage it and always botch up their face, if I try .

Viterbi: My personal method (that I picked up here) is to lay down the skin color, go back in and do the eyes with an acceptance of sloppiness, and then clean up again with the skin color because there's more room there for error, then do shading

James shred: looking nice. I'd suggest maybe a mauve/magentaish for the tounge?

Thanks, may give that a try, when painting the next character. Troops won't get eyes, otherwise I get probably mad

Proof pic. I have some mold lines and gaps to fill on him, and then I should be able to start painting him this week/weekend. Going to be a nice palette cleanser in between Necron pieces!

Some great looking models coming along. Nice Eisenhorn - love the skull on the staff expecially.
Also love the definition on the back muscles, DV8 - looking good.

I'm almost finished on Gotrek and decided to expand his base a bit, using a couple of extra models.
Proof.

WIP pic. Need to do some edges, clean up and the cape. Probably going to do a lot of the touch up work after assembly.

Just as a friendly reminder to people like myself who rely on next month’s vote going up to light the fire and get moving: December is the wildcard, so there is no vote. So get cracking!

I was pretty busy this month and only one week left till december therefore I'm just gonna do one small mini.

First thing is the league table has been updated, still all to play for at the top.

Nmatters - Hello and Welcome to Dakka and the challenge, a very ethereal feel to your model, the sword was worth the effort its come out very well with a good rusty effect.

Well done for finishing your entries Zerg, Rybrook, Viterbi, Yorkright, Bellerophon, Jamie Shred, Jadenim. Solid entries all around.

queen_annes_revenge good luck with the eye surgery, your better than most of us even without it

Captain Brown - Nice work, looks like you are winning the race so far

I'm getting absolutely hammered at work working 12 - 14 hours a day and some extra over the weekend. 1 year old was throwing up all this weekend as well so no time for painting.

Progress so far.

Done as best I can, given how absolute garbage the cast/casting material was.

EDIT: Updated the photos.

Some great stuff here!

Just dropping in to remind folks that December will be the usual open round, so while the usual rules all still apply, there is no theme so you can paint whatever you like.

Lovely stuff as always everyone. Nice to see a few names I don't recognise as well!

I'm going to paint a villain - Boba Fett from Star Wars Legion.

I'm very late entering, but I actually took the proof pic a few days ago but have only got round to uploading it today. I've started painting him and made some progress. Two things to observe - Fantasy Flight miniatures are terrible for mould lines. The mould lines themselves are no worse than most companies, but the kind of plastic they use makes them incredibly difficult to remove. There are a couple I simply could not get rid of, so look out for them in the finished piece! Also, Boba is a really detailed model, more so than you think when you watch the films. His armour is a real hodge-podge of differently-coloured panels - green, red, grey, yellow, blue...

Yup! Even the greens on his armor are inconsistent. The cheek plates are a different green from the rest of the helmet, which is a different green from his chest pieces!
