Silly question, but I'm sure someone here can help .. need to correctly spell a gamer word that doesn't exist, so my spellchecker always thinks it's wrong

Dice-ify .. As in, "you've been dice-ified" .. would it be Diceify, or Dicify? Does it need the E?

Drop the E and go with dicify would be my opinion on a word that is non existent.

I’d include the e to assist proper pronounciation.

Never heard this term. What's it supposed to mean, that you've been turned into dice? You're random?

Either way, your spellchecker is quite correct. The 'word' is wrong.

Dicify...might lead to unfortunate mispronunciation.

I think, because it does not exist, I'd use a phonetic version, or "cheat" version, such as dice-ify. That gets the point across immediately.

When you read "dice-ify", you can almost see the air quotes, etc.

On the other hand, if I read "dicify", I wouldn't know what you're actually talking about - heck I'd probably go google it to see if it was a word I wasn't familiar with. Dice-ify removes that completely. It's much more self explanatory.

I agree it works better with the hyphen, but I need it to be all 1 word short n sweet. This is going to be for an online store I've been planning, selling all kinds of dice. And eventually making some cool looking custom sets too. I was thinking of using dicified.com for the domain name. I don't want to have a hyphen in the domain name, since at least half the traffic will be coming to the site on a phone, you don't want to make people have to switch their phone keypad layouts around to type in a URL. Or at least I wouldn't wanna do that, i'm lazy. There's some other names I've been thinking of, but Dicified sounds fun to me.

If it's solely for use with the dice-selling website, then the name is whatever you want it to be, because the word does not need to explain itself. The fact that you're on a website that sells dice will immediately give the word context, regardless of spelling.

Simply glancing at the contents of the web page would provide people all the context necessary and they'd immediately think "Ohhh...dice...ify...dicify, got it."

Likewise if your swag had "DICIFY" with a D20 or something next to it, it likewise gets its context from the image and will be self explanatory. However, if I saw a ballcap which simply said "DICIFY" on the front and I didn't know about your website, or there wasn't a dice on the ballcap image, I wouldn't know what it was about - of course I could guess.

Alternatively, you could have something akin to "DICEify", or something like that, but that's less smooth/elegant.

For instance, this is an attractive style, but wouldn't translate great to domain names, etc.

Are you wedded to "ify"? Otherwise you could choose a suffix that works better with the e, such as Diceroo or Dicemate (The Dicemation?) or Diceggeddon.

I already registered the domain name, so it will be dicified.com in a month or so when it's ready to launch. I like Diceggeddon, maybe i'll swipe that for next year's black friday sale

I have a D6 in the logo, so it should be self explanatory I hope

Just to be sure on the spelling, I checked, and it turns out there’s only one G in Armageddon. Please amend my suggestion to “Dicegeddon.”
