For me it seems it's inverted, a Staff with magical/spiritual things coming out from the crescent shaped part and the gem.

The infinite rune points to Eldar or Elf, since the staff and stone are bit more crude than normal Eldar objects.

So either some AoS caster or an exodite Worldsinger.

It's fairly clear that they're not squatting Aspect Warriors now, and there are a lot of them still left as Finecast which they obviously want gone. I would be surprised if there isn't another Eldar wave before the end of the year.

Given the mix of organic shapes and more Craftworld elements though, I'm going to guess an Exodite for Blackstone Fortress.

Well, one of the weirdest things about Phoenix Rising as the (semi-)big announcement about the no-mask Ynnari Exarch that "walks a unique path", who ended up having no rules in Phoenix Rising.

The entire Banshee kit can be assembled without masks, but there's no way to actually play mask-free Banshees in the game (presumably that'll be a Ynnari thing, or GW simply forgot about it).

See I never saw the announcement as a big thing. It's a nice bit of detail for the kit (despite the absence of sense lorewise) rather than a big hint at the future.

I don't really see Exodites being in Blackstone so my guess is going on the new elves in AOS.

Isn't it something like the two 'bumps' on the helmet sides are the part that generate the 'Banshee Cry'..meaning that even without the full helmet they still would be able to get the benefit of the Mask?

Or am I remembering something from Xenology?

Sorta looks like a warpstone staff head. Or maybe it's stone, and the staff body/haft itself is pilfered from aelves.

Pretty sure this is AoS and not 40k. Maybe it goes along with all the "ship" rumor engines we've seen and it's either Grotbag Scuttlers or some new Skaven sky contraptions?

That's correct. The bumps are what makes the banshee mask a.... well a banshee mask. They're psychosonic amplifiers or something.

But when people refer to the Banshee Exarch not needing a Mask anymore I think they mean the War Mask which is basically what Eldar Craftworlders use to avoid getting traumatised, remembering the awful things they do and generally staying sane. Exarchs are Eldar who can no longer remove their War Mask.

I’ve honestly no idea.

Parts look distinctly Elf. The stringy bit and staff looking bit.

But the crescent reminds me of Warpstone. Certainly not a recognisable Elf aesthetic, barring the shape.

And what the eff is it attached to? And is it being held under tension?

Aetherquartz is the Pointy Elfs' local realmstone, probably holds their warmachines floating and stuff.

I just don’t see such a rough, hewn appearance as being for an Elf.

I could very well be wrong.

Oh! Is that crescent moon of crystal shooting waves of something? Would make a bit more sense of those extra bits coming out of it. Still no idea what it would be though.

If it is not something completely unheard of it is one of the following two:

1. an Ynnari psyker:
+ infinity circuit/death Eldar rune + additional beams
+ smoke stuff similar (but not identical) to the Yncarne
+ the warpstone blade is sickle shaped, another death theme
- the uneven warpstone material is not very "eldary"
- the ribbon is not very futuristic
- the head of the staff is a cube and not egg-shaped

2. Elf from the shadow realm
+ smoke stuff like Mistweaver Saih
+ crescent shape like Mistweaver Saih
+ ribbons like Mistweaver Saih
+ Ulgu's realmstone is described as cobbweb-like, which matches more or less the crescent thing
- infinity symbol still very 40k Eldar typical

I was thinking the waves of stuff were trailing off the crescent as the staff? sweeps through an arc.

The infinity shape on the haft and the little oval blister where the crescent connects is shouting something Eldar to me. Its also got me thinking about an earlier engine pic. One that also has a mystery stone component, attached to something that doesn't seem to match its styling.

My mad guess? GW are going to release at least two models(some flavour of Eldar and something Imperial) for the 40k setting, that feature blackstone components. Probably used to amplify or dampen psychic abilities.

You are right about the staff, but the pommel is not very Eldar-like, despite the gems/blister. If it doesn't deviate from already established shapes, it would be eggshaped, but it has hard edges. It is a frustum (had to google the term for the geometric shape ).
This way more similar to Mistweaver Saih. There you have everything: Crescent thingy held in a frustum-shaped support, with little gems on it.

Why are they giving Lumineth hammers? They’re such uncivilised weapons that don’t belong within the clutches of a high elf’s delicate hands.
