This is a bug that has been occurring on forgeworld for a couple of months where products are incorrectly flagged as discontinued once they are out of stock. The FW team will manually change them to just Out of stock as some point.

Looks like only sold out in the USA. Still available U.K. and Oz.

Hmm... low effort starter this spring, standard 6 gangs end this fall...maybe a new edition in a new hive for Xmas, but can't see it. At least it gets steady updates unlike (zombie) Killteam.

I’d say it’ll just move into guilds and then the outlanders stuff.
Some kind of spyrers, scavvies ratskins books maybe. Or guild ones..

Well with the new new Delaque book done by Q3, it means in Q4 we can get Escher or Goliaths V5.0.

Roadmap has been updated, apparently.

I think the only addition is notification that something is coming Q4?
I'll basically repeat what I said on their Facebook post:

I love how they think that this is an update.

I mean, wow, there will be more releases after the Delaque book? Necromunda doesn't just stop at that point?

We never would have guessed!

I think it’s ‘updated’ as in they’ve added to the graphic, as opposed to particularly ‘revealed’ more stuff, though yes it does have a bit extra at the end.
It’s similar to the Underworlds road map, they’re just uodating with model pictures as they reveal them etc.
I guess those graphics aren’t aimed at us internet fiends on the forums, but probably the casual newsletter/WarCom crowd who just see it there..

For some gangs this is the 4th time they've received rules, so what makes you think it'll stop now?

I was talking about the plastic kits, the main takeaway and money of every release. I doubt they'd be ready to throw away their money again anytime soon to make 3rd kits for the house gang.

I just can't work out if they ship internationally, or where they are located to begin with. It's the US, right?

Yeah, we need House of Arms, House of Meat Grinders, and House of Chaos books now. Probably something for enforcers as well, House of Law?

I swear, if they announce specific books for Enforcers and Corpse Grinder, invalidating Book of Judgement and Book of Ruin, I am done.

They need to go back to the Book of… series. Cover the Sump, the Ash Wastes, other suspiciously specific not-Chaos cults (like an epicurean cult dedicated to killing and eating the most interesting creatures from down-hive) etc. The main gangs don’t need more stuff.

Scavvies, Spyrers and Ratskins I'd hope are being worked on next. Book of Mutants maybe to cover Scavvies and mutants in gangs?

If they're afraid of giving pointy hats to Reds, then there's no chance in hell that we're ever seen "Ratskins" again.

Maybe not as direct Native American “running about in just animal skins”. But that’s not exactly the only design option open to them, is it?

Ratskins still exist in the fluff.

I would assume if and when they reappear they will have an updated aesthetic, but the same is true for a couple of the gangs.

Has any of the current "House of" books invalidated the Gangs of the Underhive book? For example, has House of Blades invalidated that books Escher rules? Or does it just add to it?

This is quite confusing for us who haven't bought into the game yet, and you have me concerned now...

The basic requirements.

Rule book, Gangs of the Underhive.

With those two, you can run successful Necromunda Campaigns. You don’t need anything else.

The House of/Book of range are closer to RPG sourcebooks - they add depth and flavour, but are not required. And I’d recommend only allowing their use in a campaign if at least one copy of each is owned within your group. This should be dictated by whomever is running your campaign.

The Book Of allow for quite heavily themed campaigns if that’s your jam.

Exactly, it's not like Delaque's redesign has anything to do with changed societal perceptions, they just wanted to make them different for whatever reason. Can't wait to see what the new ones will look like, or anything else that isn't a House gang at this stage. While the gang expansions haven't been much to my taste, much of FW's output has been rather nice, so they can still design great looking minis.

[Note: following based on what I've read, limited personal experience]
Define invalidated? There have been a few changes to the existing rules, but probably few enough that you could get a list of the differences (a few changed stats, points costs, gang structure) and use them as an Errata/FAQ alongside GotU, if you want the most up-to-date version. But there's a bunch of new stuff now too; with every gang having some additional mechanic, new hangers-on plus of course the new Juve 2.0 and Champion 2.0 (whatever you might think of them). Not sure if all gangs have technically gotten better because of it, but you're certainly losing options, and in some cases (Goliath...) would be significantly weaker if lacking it. By the time Delaque's House book is out, there is no reason to ever open the GotU book again aside from the Trading Post, which is presumably to reappear somewhere else at some point. You can definitely run a campaign using just the GotU rules of course, but that would mainly make sense if all participants choose to do so (in the same way I wouldn't have a campaign with the House books now until everyone has had theirs). More for a level playing field in terms of options than power.

In terms of fluff and background, I can't say I rate the new books highly, or at least not the one I bought (Escher). A few fun bits perhaps, but overall the content felt pretty poor and uninspired.

Doc and Coenus, you've both put my mind at ease that the the rule book and GotU are still kosher.

I've heard so many bad things about the rules for Necromunda, that I just wanted to understand HMBC's concern incase there was a new problem with the game. I've yet to actually jump into Necromunda but I still keep an eye on the current state of the game incase I decide to.

Cheers.

A Rulebook and Gang of the Underhive only Dominion campaign is a much better way to dip your toe into Necromunda than adding all the optional rules and new fighter types from the House book series. That's not going to suddenly change when House of Shadow is released. Hive War might be able to replace the Rulebook for people who don't want to play a Dominion campaign but Gangs of the Underhive has plenty of life left in it even now.

The core rules, a campaign system and Gangs of the Underhive is a complete game experience.

Necromunda is closer to Dungeons and Dragons than 40K. You don't need to have every book to play, just the books that have the rules you want to use.

I feel that with each passing house book, Gangs of the Underhive becomes more and more obsolete

It's only as obsolete as you let it be. Most of the content in it is just repeated or expanded on in the House books.

The biggest change that could affect a GotU based gang is some of the wargear options for different fighter types and changes to advancement. If you you're not concerned with the new Champions and Prospects you can ignore the House books in your campaign if you like. I would even recommend it for new players or Arbitrators. I suspect Hive War will stick to the GotU style gang lists for Escher and Delaque for instance and there's nothing wrong with that.

No, seriously GotU will be gone, gone, gone once Delaque is out, if they put the trade post on a pdf.

Of course - your game, play what you want, no GW thought Palanites are going to kick your door down - but I'm convinced it'll go out of print.
