OTOH I have 25 NuEschers, there's enough parts here to equip another 20, and we still have a total of 5 monopose bodies.

So back in the day you were buying kits where each leg was individually attached to any optional torso?

Spoiler:
No, you weren't.

When you dissemble about olden days "poseability" you're mostly just talking about arm options, and, here you go, have some arm options. Other than that the only missing piece is rotating torsos -- which inevitably resulted in bone-jarred poses, but to each their own, I guess -- and rotating the torso on a monopose figure is typically the easiest conversion to do after head-swaps (ie. incredibly easy).

Shh. Don't tell them the truth about old Necromunda miniatures "diversity". It coult ruin their nostalgia.

Of course, they'll give the usual excuse "But GW didn't have all the tools they have right now !" as if it means anything as counter-argument. Sadly, it doesn't.
Spoiler:
Just because you have better tools doesn't mean making old combinations of torso, legs and arms separate is actually as varied in the end. Mainly because the human body is made in such a way that when the legs are put in a certain direction, torso, arms and neck can't really be put in a realistic way in many variations. So if you want to make all combinations really viable and realistic...you have to make generic poses, and they thus tend to look pretty much the same. Like they did in the old days.

Alternatively, it would hardly have killed GW to put two different sprues in each gang box instead of the same one twice...

Sure, and they could have sold it to you at a higher price as well. Either way, you would have complained.

For someone who literally built their dakka persona on baseless gaking on Mantic you sure are quick to point fingers, but yes, I complain when we get less stuff for a higher cost.

Meaning two different molds.

It's just the investment was made that way at the time they designed the Necromunda core boxes, that's all. Would have it been nice if it was two different sprues with different options ? Obviously. Pretty sure it would have mean a different starting price as well.

Either way, someone would have complained about it, no matter what GW chose to do.

I can't go back in the past and rant about it to the GW people who decided about it (not that it would have changed anything, anyway), so better roll with what reality brought us. "What if ?" questions are endless if you start them.

Funny thing ; you don't know the price of these upgrade sprues so far. But you can already say it's a higher cost. Meaning you have already decided in your mind it will be, no matter what the reality will show you.

That's why it's useless to debate any longer. You already decided to complain, no matter what.

And what I did with Mantic Games is simply because I go against the narrative saying they are "better" than GW on several decisions / projects they made. So it's really not the same.

Neophyte Hybrids and Skitarii both cost 1€ more than Eschers for a box of 10 unique sculpts and 30 weapons. Let's not pretend it can't be done.

Not that I’m arguing one way or the other.

But I would assume it’s to do with how many of a box they can sell or something?
As that box then costs double if it has unique sprues. Rather than repeating the same one.

I’d imagine 40k troops sell a lot more than a Necromunda gang.

However, my biggest annoyance with Necromunda is the 5 body thing.
I really hate that with any game, but particularly in a skirmish scale where you only have a few out its more noticeable..

They can obviously sell sufficient quantities of gang boxes that it is viable to cut additional moulds for upgrade sprues, which themselves will shift fewer units than the original boxes would have.

Actually yeah great point. Ignoring the alternate faction boxes as they’re different and unique..

This cost is basically the same I suppose.
Though they sell you two boxes that way.

I wonder if it was two different sprues in the same box maybe people wouldn’t buy an upgrade sprue set or other bits as they’d have so much choice in one box.
I guess it’s well thought out in their decisions as to what will be profit or not etc..

For me the point it, Necromunda is slowly getting there to the point where I might not be able to resist diving in with it..

That's why I'm saying it's better to wait sometimes.

Remember the Titanicus Knights and when they finally brought the upgrade sprue so that we can have power fists and missile launchers without having to scratch build / convert ? It's the same...the initial investment was made with the basic sprues, with a starting price set within the expectations of the marketing team / predictions of sales. It's not a hard science, and they proved they can make huge mistakes about it (hello Cursed City...).

Now the Titanicus Knights boxes include the upgrade sprue automatically (even though they sold the separate sprue at launch so that people that bought the previous boxes without it can still upgrade). Yep, they're sold at a higher price than in the very beginning, but it wasn't that huge a difference at that time. Yet, those who waited and bought the knights after that (or better, took the "bundle box" they released at Christmas a couple years ago) certainly got much more for their money than the poor pals who bought the Knights when Adeptus Titanicus was first released.

We don't know if they won't do that with Necromunda as well. At first, it's obvious the sprue will be available separately, but maybe they'll be repackaged with the next core boxes. Who knows ? GW does, and will make it known once it's on pre-order for sure.

For all that I don't actually expect it to happen, it'd be pretty good if an Orlock sprue included a couple of female heads/torsos.

And if you're looking at the picture of the upgrade sprue, the flamethrower pistol is the right arm only. So no choice here either.

It's clearly the weapon that counts here, not the arm.

I think the different is that if you play the game no one that isn't trolling or loaded with exceed cash build dual wielding flamethrower because they're overpriced garbage, comparing to..... one of the best pistol in the game.

"Just cut the gun bro". Oh yeah then the right arm autopistol isn't needed, just cut them. Actually I just cut everything and didn't need to buy any weapons pack at all?????

The right hands plasma pistol conveniently were in all of the "resin weapon pack", 1 each. They made the autopistol right arm, and in a raised position too,to paired with the stretch-out aiming left one in the main box, so it's obvious they knew what they're doing.

The need to defend GW at every corner in you is too strong. GW just really want to keep those resin pack in production.

More mention of a campaign including Errata. I hope we're going to get an updated errata pdf to bring us into line with this book.

Problem is, if everyone waits for the "full" release, GW just cancels the game as a non-seller. We've somehow made it to the third cycle of half-sized faction sprues because enough of us keep paying full price for half product, over and over again. We're being blackmailed to either continually buy demo versions of the game or have it disappear.

And you know that how seeing it has plating on every single bit that would house power generator (which is frankly more sensible approach than leaving generator and thin energizer wires exposed to even slightest damage)? The shaft head is certainly beefy enough to have generator inside.

lord_blackfang wrote:Nice strawman dude, real quality corporate simping, but GW could have put 5 new bodies on the sprue.

Except nope because 5 bodies would use up 100% of space on typical GW upgrade size sprue. Count the bits, it's maybe twice the size of small SM upgrade sprue, if that.

Not really - If I did that I wouldn't have been playing Necromunda for the last three years.

If they knew the answer they wouldn't answer it, and the three presenters aren't - or have deliberately portrayed themselves as not being - particular gameplay experts anyway.

The only fact i knew is that they are the exact same resin weapon forgeworld described as normal, non-power weapon, but yeah you can just pretend that they are power weapon, just like I said. Since the normal axe and hammer are completely trash, it's likely most of them will be used as pretend brute cleaver and power weapon anyway. Would be better if they stopped being lazy with the copy paste, and design new bits so people didn't have to proxy it.

Yep, I know that. Still made an escher with 2 flamethrower pistols, 'cause the rules allow it and I wanted to build a miniature like the picture of such an escher in the book. Just the rule of cool. I know she's horribly expensive in credits and can't shoot with both of her pistols at the same time. Still can use another flamethrower when the first run out of ammo.

You, on the other hand, should know not all players want to build the perfect optimized gang, and that GW doesn't especially try to optimize the weapon options in their boxes according to the rules. Like, ever.

"Just cut the gun bro". Oh yeah then the right arm autopistol isn't needed, just cut them. Actually I just cut everything and didn't need to buy any weapons pack at all?????

Just saying you can have a girl with 2 plasma pistols from the core box if you really want it, and that it's not that hard to do. That's all. Feel free to use your outraged hyperboles as usual, even if they're useless.

The need to defend GW at every corner in you is too strong. GW just really want to keep those resin pack in production.

Not really defending GW here, it's just your hate of GW that push you into believing that narrative that if someone isn't agreeing with you, then he must be on your enemy's side. Oh well, believe what you want.

I'm actually saying this plastic upgrade sprue is a good way not to use the said FW packs. Sure, you have to convert a bit to make the miniatures look a bit more "customisable", but that's why plastic is great as a material. FW resin too, actually...just a bit more troublesome with the glue to use.

Look legit as a power weapon, to me. By the way, all power swords have the same design on the blade and aren't especially thicker on the handle for the "power generator".

GW isn't putting a gun on your head. Just saying it's better to wait sometimes, no need to try to make a drama out of everything I'm saying to prove some kind of hypothetical point.

"We"re being blackmailed !"...seriously, no, we're not. It's not as black and white as you want to make it look like.

You're not defending GW here, you just want to make it look like we have no choice. We do. People from the marketing department would love to have it otherwise, but we still have choice not to buy immediately as soon as the product is available as pre-order.

And by the way, your statement is false because it's not always linked to the sales - it also depends of their own projects when they make the product. The sad truth is games aren't eternal - a lot have disappeared through the years, often with their producers but also when their producers just stop selling it for different reasons, not especially because they're nefarious (like they just want to try something new and need to make some room for that). So Necromunda may (will) very well meet its end whatever us customers will do. Like when it happened the first time.

But of course no one would say that about their own products while they're still selling it, because that's a serious issue for building a gaming community (it's not if your intention is to sell the said game at a higher price because the offer is lower than the demand, obviously).
