So a tad more than the 2017 starter, trading the card tiles for a handful of plastic walls. Not great, not terrible.

Only if you ignore the complete rule book versus the board game instruction manual. You could play all six gangs out of the 2017 box right… ^_~

If the new starter rulebook contains a trading post, basic rules for all the six gangs, and some sort of campaign (which all seen likely based on the previews), I will probably pick this up.

The trading post is 10+ pages (without fluff, layout and artwork). GW doesn't know what the trading post is anymore.

You're making a big assumption if you think the new box has the full book.

Well, it certainly doesn’t need to be that long in the starter, just a basic one or two page one so that gangs can get things not on their weapon list/rarer items.

On the the reason I gave up on Necromunda before is because the gigantic trading posts, conflicting profiles, etc. If this book really does have all six gangs basic lists, a campaign, and a functional trading post, I will likely pick it up and just the play the game from exclusively this book (maybe grabbing rules for enforcers at some point). The game is just too bloated at the moment.

"The rulebook found in Necromunda: Hive War is unique to this boxed set. This book has been specially created to make playing the game easier than ever, and it includes all of the tweaks and improvements from all of the errata released since Necromunda came out.

Along with the rules, the book includes six scenarios to help you learn the game, building your confidence until you’re an underhive expert. There are also basic rules for all six of the Clan Houses and their unique weapon lists.

1. a thing that is accepted as true or as certain to happen, without proof.

So, it's not an assumption since GW has stated it for a fact.

Um? You're literally quoting them as saying its an _edited_ (specially created) book. Its obviously not going to be everything.

Efficiency is the highest virtue.

Specially created as opposed to putting in the old one.
And being created with all the faq and updates into it etc.

The core rulebook, yes, it's included in the starter box. It's just better than the old one because it includes all the erratas and FAQ inside.

Quite the incentive to take it actually...

What it won't have is, without a doubt, the full rules to play all the "House of..." gangs. Which is the difference, it won't have the "Gangs of the Underhive" book. Just the basis to play a core gang.

But since the old book "Gangs of the Underhive" is doomed to be obsolete once all the core gangs have their "House of..." books (and it's clear it will be soon now)...well.

Did you say bloated hehe. I think the new rulebook will add 6 scenarios, we already got 80 and pretty much all of them suffer from the same flaws (simply shoot the opponent and ignore any objectives, and if that don't work, voluntarily flee can prevent the opponent from winning).

Except the trading post. It's more than twice as large now as it was in 2018

All (rule)books are edited and unique. All included errata, stealth fixes and otherwise random changes. I see no different in this one. They tried 3 times already, a 4th attempt is nothing but a scam
What GW says on their propaganda channel means very little. Everything is ultimate wow buy now awesome.

They don't actually need to put everything. Just the basic trading post that was in Gang of the Underhive.

What was added in the other expansion books like Book of Judgement doesn't need to be there, since the books are still available and relevant - they weren't replaced by the "House of..." equivalent. Those only apply to the basic gangs so far, not the "specialized ones" like Corpse Grinders.

So I bet the trading post will be in the starter and it will work just fine as basis.

We'll have to wait and see to know the exact contents. What it includes or not doesn't matter much, since there's already complete rules compilations out there with all rules updated in a nicer layout already, with most errors fixed. A single book of 300 pages instead of 18 books and countless pdfs and WD articles. What I'm curious about is what will change in this book. Stats, costs, rules, scenarios and everything else. And of course, what all the mistakes are. The currently latest rulebook made the mistake of using the old incorrect advancement table from N17 (costs didn't make sense and was heavily discussed at the time). That was actually fixed a year later in N18, but subsequently degraded in N19 back to the original faulty one.

We should have videos from youtuber reviewers talking about it this weekend, if they were given a copy for that. If not, the next.

But if GW says all current erratas / FAQ will be included in the starter rulebook, I expect them to actually do that.

Well, we know from the teaser images we get to see some Delaque goodies today.

Any guesses as to what form the specialists might take?

With new Delaques, I almost tempted to think they will reveal some kinds of floating brains with tentacles...

Does anyone know if the Cawdor is up for pre order this weekend or is it just the new starter box?

Many thanks,

Heh, so Delaque either got the Better Metal Snake from Dethklok or Reptillicus Mechanicus from MTS3K.

Oddly enough, I really like top two (the one with the Malcadon claws and the other with the not-katana) best.

Heh. I wasn't that far off with that floating brain with tentacles.

Mechanical worms are...interesting.

Otherwise, short interview of Andy saying the background of Delaques will still have some mysteries about the truth, but apparently will give a better glimpse on how Delaques gather information.

My hypothesis is they feed on human brains like some horrible xenos monster. Heh.

I mean it is literally a floating brain with tentacles

It’s crazy aside from the first two being body for body.

Those other 4 are just, part from a and b make 1, a and c, b and d, then c and d.
Or some such.
Interesting use of mixing it up.

It will mean you are locked in on each sprue of making two or the other two. For those last ones..

With the other add on kits of 3 per sprue, you could repeat 0-3 models if you wanted with the second sprue.
Here it’s 0-1 or 3 repeats.
Don’t know how much that would matter in reality, but interesting

Do you have to use the official high terrain piece to stand on? If not, there's a lot more survivability in putting the model directly on the base... and guaranteed the question will be asked for the flying stand too... can it float on the ground?
