Now I kinda want to convert up some Militarum Vendorum food trucks as auxiliaries for a guard force.

Are we sure that the Militarum Vendorum are the logistics / commissary / camp followers of the guard? Vendorum isn't Latin, but it is obviously related to the verb 'vendo' to sell which could mean a force which sells things to the guard, but might also refer to mercenaries; either the Imperium's equivalent of PMC, tolerated xenos mercenaries, or Imperial forces which are provided as mercenaries for xenos (the last might seem unlikely given the Imperium's xenophobia, but the RT-era ork books had guardsmen working for Blood Axes in order to guide the orks into conflicts which ultimately helped the Imperium). Alternatively, it could mean troops who work for Rogue Traders.

Yeah, there is no official info on the Militarum Vendorum or the Militarum Ordinatus, only what we can guess based the names.

If the truth can destroy it, then it deserves to be destroyed.

Make your own clan wouldn't make sense for orks, as the ones we have are coded into their genes and there are simply no others out there.
The custom cultures could just be warband/Waaagh! specific ways to fight, with no regard to the clans in your detachments though.

7 Ork facts people always get wrong:
Ragnar did not win against Thrakka, but suffered two crushing defeats within a few days of each other.
A lasgun is powerful enough to sever an ork's appendage or head in a single, well aimed shot.
Orks meks have a better understanding of electrics and mechanics than most Tech Priests.
Orks actually do not think that purple makes them harder to see. The joke was made canon by Alex Stewart's Caphias Cain books.
Gharkull Blackfang did not even come close to killing the emperor.
Orks can be corrupted by chaos, but few of them have any interest in what chaos offers.
Orks do not have the power of believe.

I reckon Orks will get Kustom jobs, Klan psychic powers and some extra strats. Maybe an expanded Freeboota set like Tempestus got or which might fill the create your own klan niche.

I think kustom kulturs are inevitable. Would be nice if GW looked upon what they had wrought and tried to make each clan viable/interesting to play, but they have not done so for anyone but SM and sort of half way housed CSM so its 99% not happening.

When they dont do craftworlds you kind of know its not happening for Xenos.
But happy to be shown wrong soon.

They did do build your own craftworlds, kabals, septs and hive fleets. I don't think we'll see Klans though - but I could see Freebootas being the thing that fills that niche (which wouldn't be any different from a custom sept etc other than there are some strats that might work off the keyword).
Or maybe madboyz?

It's chaos who missed out bizarrely, but did get a lot more renegade warbands who got tie in relics, WL traits and strats.

I'm really looking forward to the SW/Ork version - hoping for some good Freebooter rules and models - and REALLY looking forward to whatever the end game is here...

...a Primarch?

...9th edition?

...both?

...something else?

Well, you know, when a release involves a 2-3 boxes and a 2-3 blisters, and it happens twice a month, not a book and a single character model every five or six weeks. Or a book and terrain piece or a thin box of 'endless spells.'

Some vague sense of progress on the giant backlog of resin and metal (that they supposedly stopped using years ago) would be a fine thing.

in fairness we've gotten a decent amount of that, (sisters for example. although yeah they're not complete cause... heck if I know) so it's not like we've gotten a massive release drought.

On the Internet

There have been some issues with GW not being able to keep releases up for anything locked behind a limited release box set, though since they pushed out a bunch of AoS charscters lately either they cleared that backlog or the new production facilities are finally online and helping them catch up.

I'll be honest, I am a bit excited for this release. My FLGS is doing a campaign in about two months and I'm doing an Ork army from scratch so I'm hoping to see -something- rather soon on the ladz.

I really only need to know if Ghaz will be locked to Goffs and some idea how they're expanding the Orks (letting us buy Grot Gunners for vehicles would be a nice start).

Yeah i also get the feel GW it's just stalling releases to either catch up with production and start shoving massive releases back into game.

New primaris, possible new army? maybe another army revamp etc etc.

I'm actually pretty happy the releases are slower I just wish it felt like the books could feel more quality and less hollow churn. I don't mind not feeling like I need to revamp my armies every couple months.

Edit : Though I'd love for some groups to get things they would love to have. Like say more character variety for DE for instance. If all that is going to happen is things are going to go back to full swing and new marines pop out everywhere I fear some will have a total crap fit.

Some armies don't need new models nearly as much as new rules. (Fix. The. Fething. Legion traits. Gw.)

Perhaps, but first they need to fix the base codex. It needs vastly better internal balance.

I'd assume more in-depth codex updates are in the works with a deeper array of toys to sell us are coming. This is just a way to tide us over until they can go through all the books so no one has to languish too long without aome kind of update.

Well that was quick. Wonder if this means the new production facility is up and running. Maybe we'll see an uptick in releases.

At the least this should make some Eldar players happy.

Happy, but wondering what they are going to charge.

I promised to pick up a box of each aspect they did in plastic, and plan on carrying through with it. But part of me is expecting this to hurt a lot more than 5 little plastic ladies should.

We have different ideas of quick methinks.

I'm happy to see the plastic Banshees can be bought now but the announcement article is comedic. GW obviously don't read their own products or if they do then they're smashed as they do so.

Yes we do, as I'm still waiting for that box of chosen.

(Not really, I much prefer modeling mine as terror squads. Much more fitting for Night Lords than chaos tainted marines).

No silly, they're giving Night Lords a shot at payback on Jain Zar for First Claw.
