I'd prefer MegaConstrux, their mini action figures are leagues superior to the LEGO Minifigs.
Plus, China already makes KO LEGO IG.
Gods could you imagine the rules arguments. GW would take the "its you'r game do what you want" stance that they typically take; whilst events would take the "please use official GW models and not models under licence from Lego". I could see PAGES and PAGES of DAKKA arguments about how lego Imperial Guard should be allowed and how they are more faithful to the lore/scaling and a million other arguments. Heck we might even see "lego designed terrain boards" rise up as a thing!
Clearly those are someone’s scratch build s as you can see the different colors of putties used .
They are not scratch made, I had my cousin help me do a search here in China, and bam, there they are, 4/guy, 20/squad of 6, in Chinese money, so about $0.60/guy, $3/Fire team. You can get a horde easily and you don’t have to paint them!
Edit: picked up a platoon of LEGO cadians:
6 man variety pack x2(1 set for cousin’s 4 yr old)
Single plasma gunner x2
Combination platoon(20 lasgun, 1 bolt pistol) x2
Cost me 182 Chinese = $26 for 50(6 shall be lost forever)man LEGO Cadian platoon
Sorry, the joke was missed, my humor and lack of sleep. When the first images of new Primaris were released people swore it was all just a conversion and they could tell by the color of the material.
I was hoping no one else had commented, I was wanting to do an r/woosh.

GW is sort of in the middle outside of its own market. This makes it big enough that big firms will pay attention to them and can see potential in a licence agreement; however it also means that smaller firms who want a leg-up in the crowded market are more willing to stump up the cash to get the GW IP even if its not the best deal in the world, because it helps them rise above the rest with a recognised IP. GW is also likely a lot easier to sign on than some really big names like Starwars or almost any major Hollywood films (which also come with major time constraints).
I think for GW its also a very easy way to generate income from their IP without risking their core market. There's a few question marks though. For example the recent AoS Champions card and digital game was quite popular for a time and was starting to cover some ground in growing itself. However the company behind it clearly didn't make it work and after 6 months of utter silence they formally closed the physical game side of it (keep in mind during those 6 months they had an expansion due for physical release "at any moment" which was already digitally released and, from their FB page comments, stockists couldn't even get any physical stock for the already released stuff). Whilst its not GWs "core" market; its clear that a product like that is basically targeting the same market enough that bad results are going to tarnish GW's name and licence. Then again its not the first card game to go under with the GW IP and it doesn't seem to have stalled GW taking on new faces and companies attempting to make it into that market.
I just mean if GW wants $1M a year for a license, the company has to believe they'll make enough above and beyond that $1M that its a small enough percentage that they can remain profitable. For example if we assume standard cost to profit margins, before a company produces a single product they have to believe they'll be making atleast $4M to be considered profitable. Bandai made 9000 space marine action figures and sold them at $100+ a piece; meaning if whatever their deal with GW is profitable its because its less than a $1M a year or they're playing a longer strategy that ramps things up and they expect to lose money the first couple years. FFG's StarWars licence was rumored to be $1M/yr plus a percentage. Other companies have had similar deals for other SW licenses and over the years those have folded or gave up on the license. GW can't help but think they should be shooting for that kind of money.
GW is strong but its not Starwars. GW has a powerful niche in the market, but they lack the mass market appeal that Starwars instantly has - especially Starwars during a time when they are releasing new movies to the market.

Possibly, but certainly not based on sales data from just the last few weeks. Besides, we've already seen more Imperial chibis previewed before that have not been released yet (classic Marine, even more classic beaky Marine with Ork head, Tempestus, Witch Hunter), so one assumes those plus perhaps a fifth addition will be the next batch. Nice though it would be, it would likely not be until the third wave that we finally see some Xenos, or non-Imperials in general (several of which feel more iconic for 40k than a Tempestus Scion).

FOr some reason, I think a striking scorpion or a guardian.
I hate chibis but if they do a scorpion one I might actually buy one..
God...I Just had a dark vision that if 40k ever goes mainstream along the anime paths, it would mean that inevitably we would see a wave of Warhammer SM based Yaoi & Weird slaneshi themed hentai arise.. By the emperor I hope this does not come to pass!!!! *shuddering*
That'd require GW to actually decide what slaanesh is supposed to be about, and they'll never do it, since 40k is far too child-friendly right now to risk it. Gore and slaughter are fine, marines kissing marines would be icky
oweing more to BATTLEtech then ROBOtech
It's called Macross (or any of the other two animes HG butchered) thank you, Robotech is what happens when you need to syndicate enough episodes for US TV and have no shame
Ohh I have no doubt but Yaoi / hentai fan fic will have zero to do with what GW wants lol.

Does anyone know of a Canadian source for the KT1037, especially the XP291 Assault?
I am now curious about other such LEGO-type figurines in the 40K style.
You can check out my LEGO gallery for suitable components I found so far; as for the source for guardsmen with lasgun: there are in batches of 20 + 1 other variant; I have been procuring a few sets to bring them with me back home.

Just a warning...aliexpress is a recaster. They’re the exact same company I’ve been fighting with PayPal over to get reimbursed for terrible resin recasts. I urge people not to use them. The only difference is they’re “honest” about recasting and show pictures. But their quality is still awful.
Reality is a nice place to visit, but I'd hate to live there.

Either that or Adepticon. Both are big enough for GW to announce a new edition at and the only real question is if they want the news to break sooner or later (that is two or three months before release).
Nehekhara lives! Sort of!
Why is the rum always gone?
So, another Shadespire warband? Or that final Warcry team? I still am betting on a Ghaz reveal, since he'll be shown off soon enough and they can market that as a "Big reveal" despite all the teasers and the imminent release date.

Again: this is the New York Toy Fair. It's not a trade show or convention for hobby stuff, this is where GW licensed items tend to show up.
More likely:
Space Marine Heroes Death Guard set getting a US/Canada release, some new stuff for Blackstone Fortress, and a few other board game-ish styled of things that are licensed out.
Last year we saw the Funko Pops, wave 2 of the Space Marine Heroes stuff, Dreadfane(which repackaged existing Easy to Build sets into an Underworlds branding, sold only at Barnes and Noble for a chunk of time), and Combat Arena(which took the 4 heroes out of Blackstone Fortress: Escalation and was only sold via Barnes and Noble).

Why would you bother looking for these in Canada? You'd spend more in gas (or if mail order, significantly more in postage) than you would just buying them on Aliexpress. US$4.99 for a set of 6, with free shipping to Canada, less $3 for a new user signup, equals $1.99 that I couldn't resist spending yesterday.

Except.. you know.. the animation. Sentinels and Shadow Chronicles, I'm looking at you! And that's from someone who didn't really like anything after Macross 2.

OTOH, one franchise is dead and one isn't.
Wait, when did Macross die? Because Robotech just had a very well received release of models.

Lol, robotech being alive. It literally exists so HG can stop Macross relases in the US, because let's be honest, no one, not a single person in existence cares about Mospeada.
Well, they renewed the license so obviously the company in Japan is ok with that. Me as a fan? Not such much. As for Mospeada, it has its fans although only the delusional would claim that they come close to the numbers of Macross fans.

True, but they likely have a sense of how much those licensing fees generate for Disney, and it pretty much gives them a target high point. If Star Wars is a million to multimillion dollar license fee, GW knows what is possible, because you can bet if Disney thought they could get more than they would. So then GW says "in 10 years we our licenses to be a multi-million dollar licenses", that starts narrowing down potential partners and those that could afford to pay for that license which in turn can inform GW of what those companies are looking for in a potential license.
Video games have been a big source of GW's licensing revenue, and we know that Warhammer Fantasy has been a big enough part of that while AoS has been less interesting to those licensees. Its impossible for this not to have factored into their decision to revive the Old World setting. It shows GW is willing to do different things to sell licenses. While the Eisenhorn series is probably going to make some companies a lot of money, allowing that series to be made is exactly the sort of move GW needs to make to break out of a niche market. As is all the animation they're having done.
