See title. I'm looking to find some minis to use outside of GW for not so insane prices.
I know of Anvil Industries, Kromlech, and Victoria Miniatures. Any other good ones to recommend, or any warnings about the three I mentioned?

What type of miniature are you looking for? Fantasy, sci-fi, steam punk?

There are tons. But a lot of it depends on what you are trying to do. Skirmish warband? Roleplay characters? Full army?

Sci-Fi or Steampunk, for the most part. (Though some fantasy minis for my D&D games wouldn't go amiss.) And for now, let's keep it to a Skirmish scale-though the option to go whole army would be good. And thank you for your advice!

A quick way to find different Companies is to go to your FLGS and see what they have. If you want a game that is separate and not tied to your FLGS there are online retailers that sell a ton of different games.

Have you looked at the ' List of non-GW miniature companies' thread stickied to the top of the Painting & Modeling Forum?

Thanks!
See, my LGS tend to be a little more board game and RPG centered. The only real Wargaming store I have is GW, which doesn't hawk wares for other companies, for obvious reason.

I did not know that existed, but I shall check it out immediately! Thanks Ghaz!

Although a lot of the links seem broken or outdated.
It might be because of Corona, but if the creator of the post is still around, they might want to take a look at them.
Edit: Okay, I have a specific request!
Does anyone know where one can find sci-fi, possibly mecha, raccoons?

Hah. Glad some of those interested you. Got tired of playing human factions in EVERY game I play, so wanted to do something different with Rogue Stars when my buddy and I picked the book up.
Ended up going with space lizards, because they were just too cool. Once all this madness dies down I will probably pick up some of those molemen as a second warband.
These are what I went with though, in case you like space lizards.

No shout outs to Mantic? They started as a GW derivative (even run by Ex-GW employees), but have moved on to their own things as well.

If you're essentially talking about third-party 40K miniatures, I can't think of many beyond the pretty bog standard suggestions.
Scibor still has a line of cool, super-thematic Space Marines, and some of the original notCustodes miniatures. I can't think of many companies which don't have a news and rumours thread etc. Some of the Russian companies are generally only found on eBay, and I don't mean re-casters, but the really beautifully sculpted alternative Eldar stuff, etc.

Mantic has the Teratons mostly as part of their DreadBall line: https://www.manticgames.com/games/dreadball/teams/ukomo-avalanchers-teraton-team/
There is a single one in the Rebs starter for DeadZone, but that seems like an iffy value proposition: https://www.manticgames.com/games/deadzone/getting-started-deadzone/rebs-faction-starter/
While sci-fi themed, there's not a ton of poses and the DreadBall ones would require some work for any combat-oriented game, and I think they might actually be mostly metal and, if not, then restic so it's not exactly a desirable medium either. However, they are turtle-like models and they are sci-fi.

Some great stuff that I haven't heard of in this thread!
Sometimes you can be browsing sites like Irregular Miniatures or Alternative Armies and find some real weird and cool sculpts even if they do lack the finess of the GW stuff.

Maybe these guys as a base:
https://www.etsy.com/listing/562610250/turtle-humanoid-miniatures
Might want to take a look at the Critter Kingdoms range - Again fantasy, but there's a full range of anthropomorphic animals, definitely have a couple of tortoise and turtle figs in there.
Pond Wars - https://eurekaminusa.com/collections/pond-wars-28mm-warrior-turtles-terrapins
A company called Raccoon Miniatures had some nice figs loosely based on the TNMT, but a quick search only found images, couldn't find the company.
I also seem to recall Greebo Miniatures had some.

I loved everything put out by dreamforge but they shut down last winter and never restarted as planned. ( the pandemic thing probably didn't help)
Warlord games-famous for bolt action but i am fond of their antares line of sci minis.

And well i cannot say enough nice things about palos DUST 1947 its scifi WWII the game emchancis are great but we are talking models and they make some fine ones. you can but them as kits to build, primed/decaled and ready to play/ or fully painted.....depending on how much cash you want to drop on that sliding scale.

I think the best steampunk minis I've seen have come from Infamy or from Guild of Harmony.
You can also get some great steampunk minis in the Malifaux line. There are also some nice ones in Privateer Press' linup (PP make very good resin and metal kits).
There are a few really good steampunk minis in Dark Sword's linup (Dark Sword has the best faces of any line).
If you want some cheaper options, you could check out Reaper Miniatures. Their bones minis are cheap PVC (which gets the job done) and their metal miniatures are very good. There are some nice steampunkish minis in their Chronoscope range.
I think Bombshell Minaitures has a few nice steampunk girls as well.
There's a cool line of steampunk chibis from Scale 75, but that's probably not what you're looking for.
Well, that's off the top of my head, but it should give you plenty to explore.
