Really impressive work on the Dredd! I think the Goff color scheme looks best when weathered a little bit and you really have done a great job on it.

You have a really good painting style with these Orks, they look excellent. At some point could we get a brief step by step? Might be useful to others seeking such productivity!

Cheers!

My scheme is pretty simple, I don't think my camera is gonna be good enough to take pictures of the steps, it doesn't really pick up some of the highlights as it is!

Here's what I do though:
Spray chaos black
Paint the straps and a few other details khorne red
Paint all the metal Leadbelcher
Agrax Earthshade over the red and metal - that's the metal done! (I sometimes highlight the sharp parts of a blade with stormhost silver)
Edge highlight the red with Wazdakka red
All the clothes I leave black, I just paint a faily broad highlight with dark reaper and then edge highlight with Russ Grey
For the flesh I follow this tutorial - How to paint ork skin I skip the final highlight for normal boyz other than on their faces.
Bases get a slathering of Stirland Mud with a drybrush of XV-88
Pick out the teeth and claws with Karak Stone, wash with Agrax and highlight with Wraithbone

I always liked that model. Great job! Although the way the grot holds to chains always looked a bit off to me - I don't think they should be completely straight like that. But that's the model, not your painting, which is ace. Thanks for sharing the tutorial!

I agree, it looks a bit unnatural. I just figure they have been infused with Waaagh energy so are acting strangely!

Yeah, he's a really neat figure. Any ork that comes with a grot buddy is good by me.

What if he comes with three grot buddies!?

Really wasn't feeling it today, my plan was to work on something "speshul" over the weekend but after finishing the Weirdboy I kinda ran out of steam. Ended up grinding this one out instead.

Really impressive progress and quality. Your simple and effective paint scheme works great for the Orks, especially with all the conversions to keep things interesting. Keep up the great work.

Some times you’ve just got to grind it out. Good work keeping the count going. He’ll fit right in with the rest of em. Love the wierd boys hangers on, they look cool!

Day 19: really nice mini, you've got quite the selection to chose from it seems, and a super paint job as ever.

Day 20 - Holy smokes, turning that guy out in a day (day 20 of a marathon one-ork-a-day effort no less!) is a feat in itself. I got me this guy, painting him was a long slow and painful slog and I did a poor job of it and have hated the thing ever since. Seeing your work here is proof that redemption is possible for this guy.

I never knew the model had two helpers at the back holding him down! That's a great touch.

I feel you on sometimes having to grind out an infantry or two between big projects. They all gotta get done one way or another, and the most important thing is keeping up that momentum. Good on ye.

In the original warp heads they would have two ork minderz carrying them along. It is good to see they kept the tradition with the grots.

Well, I managed 3 weeks of painting every day and then took a week off, then pottered about with some other projects. Finally got back on the horse a few days ago but didn't take any pics, whilst rooting for bits yesterday I found a light box I bought a while back so decided to dig it out and give it a go. Not sure if I like the pics with the crappy light better!
Anyway, here's days 22-25

Good to see you’ve not fallen totally off the wagon! Hopefully the rest will have remotivated you.

Photos are a struggle for me, quite often getting one colour to look right makes the others look off. Keep trying and others tell me it gets easier

Now this is a great project!
Good that you managed to find way of painting that feels good and help you make some progress.

You keep a very good standard, especially given that you do one every day.
And breaks are okay, one could go crazy painting one boy a day for... hundreds(?) of days in a row.

Keep it up champ!

Great to see you back. About the light box it always takes time to get used to new tools you haven't used before. The three boyz look great. Your driver or pilot looks wonderful. I can't remember which kit he comes from. Keep up the good work.

Works in progress are progress. Happy to see the updates. Agree with turtles that once you start your day with cool shades, you can only get cooler.
