# The new Inquisitor warband includes one Inquisitor, an eldar ranger, two marines, a squat and four Ratlings
# Flyer rules which don't involve your hypersonic jet fighter being unable to leave a 6ft x 4ft table for the half hour or so of the game (I'd personally like something like Flames of War rules)

"But me no buts! Our comrades get hurt. Our friends die. Falkenburg is a knight who swore an oath to serve the church and to defend the weak. He'd be the first to tell you to stop puling and start planning. Because what we are doing-at risk to ourselves-is what we have sworn to do. The West relies on us. It is a risk we take with pride. It is an oath we honour. Even when some soft southern burgher mutters about us, we know the reason he sleeps soft and comfortable, why his wife is able to complain about the price of cabbages as her most serious problem and why his children dare to throw dung and yell "Knot" when we pass. It's because we are what we are. For all our faults we stand for law and light.

GW reveals a new primarch model - turns out former Mad Donna of Necromunda is actually the returned Legion II Primarch who immediately moves to lead the Adeptus Soritas on a new cleansing campaign across the galaxy.

I’m probably going to sound like an awful killjoy here, for which I preemptively apologise, but was transgender really necessary? I imagine that the grenade-launching unicorns would have been enough to get the point across.

Anyway, BOT; every single finecast sculpt will be replaced with a unique monopose Primaris lieutenant. Each lieutenant will come with a datacard, so you’ll have to buy them all to get a full codex.

Turns out Cawl messed up the Primaris update and when the clock strikes M43, their systems all shut down. All Primaris units move to Legends immediately.

Having listened to player feedback, 9th edition will be moving away from traditional six sided dice. The new dice used in play are two different types of specialty d12s that are marked with six different symbols (two sides allocated per symbol.) Primaris Intercessors, for example, now hit on {shield}, {sword}, {hammer}, and {Ultramarines icon} with their bolt rifles. When fired upon, they save on {shield}, {skull}, {helmet}, and {aquila} unless the incoming wound's armor penetration value removes one or more of these symbols.

New blast templates will also be used. The old round discs weren't spiffy enough, so GW made the new discs irregularly shaped to better reflect the haphazard patterns that real explosions create. Devs anticipate these new templates will greatly increase player engagement and enjoyment, driving a lot of conversation about the state of the game.

Player feedback indicated that players of xenos factions have felt neglected in terms of release, citing things like 20 year old resin aspect warrior sculpts or lackluster rules supplements. As a result, starting in 9th edition players will be able to enjoy all kinds of new narrative play opportunities with their choice of primaris lieutenant. All xenos datasheets from 8th are being subsumed into the Necron codex, appending Necron and {dynasty} to their datasheets were appropriate. This should greatly increase the frequency with which GW can release new primaris lieutenant models.

208 - Due to a slight database error gangs of Necromunda are now part of the Necron Codex. Goliath Monolith bombs become the new meta.

209 - After finding that pseudo latin names like Astares Militarum and Heretic Astares turned off new players GW does another round of renaming. Ultramarines are now Blue Space Marines.

210 - Librarians and Chaos Sorcerors are now known as "Good Space Wizards" and "Bad Space Wizards" respectively.

And I just wanted to say Jes Goodwin described them as such in one of the Voxcast episodes, so maybe it's too on the money?

The best level of Allies allows you to keep all your single-army bonuses, but as it's called Battle-Brothers only armies of Space Marines allied together get to use it.

Also they've heard our complaints about Chaos Soup, thus all Chaos armies are the lowest level of allies with each other. You can field them in the same army, but if they're within 6" of a unit from another codex they can't do anything other than move.

This also applies to all Chaos Daemons of different gods. This is to fix the presence of random Entrapturesses in armies that would otherwise only have Nurgle Daemons.

Official tournaments will consist of multiple tables positioned with 1/2metre spacing, and units can cross or fire across tables as if the tables were together.
Whoever's army survives the 72hours of deathmatch madness with the most points, and while simultaneously surviving drinking gallons of energy drink (to stay awake and alert) is crowned tournament victor.

So what do people think of the move to square bases for 40k? I'm not looking forward to rebasing a whole IG army but it will make ranking up rifle lines easier.

The move to round tables is interesting as well, I like the idea that different point values will use a different diameter table but I can see a lot of trouble having to mark off the gaming area's diameter every time. Maybe I'll just hit Ikea and get a couple of tables in different sizes.

The round tables are fine, but I don't see why that one mission uses an ellipse with a randomly fluctuating semi-major axis each turn.

The trick is to soup Balsarius Cawl into your Chaos demons list, which lets you add a Black Legion detachment. The recent fluff has been Amazing!

To make good on the promise of never doing a "9th edition", they will eventually dub the new edition "NewHammer". They will subsequently promise to never NOT be giving us NewHammer. In order to make good on THAT promise, when the next edition after "NewHammer: launches (about 6 months into NewHammer's life cycle), it will ALSO be called "NewHammer". As will all editions going forward in perpetuity. They will eventually shift the store names from "Warhammer" to "NewHammer" as well. The "NewHammer" paint range will contain ONLY dips and contrast paints.

Edit: I just googled ablutions and apparently it does not including dropping a duece. I should have looked it up early sorry for any confusion. - Baldsmug

You forgot to mention the hex bases required for orks so they can more easily surround enemy opponents with their 60 base-to-base model squads.

Also, the fluff is getting another update! It turns out Roboute has finally corrected all the errors with Imperial time stamps and it turns out that 40K is actually happening in 80K BC due to warp travel time shenanigans. It turns out 40K's future is our past!

The new Deep Strike rules where you have to put your unit on the Lazy Susan and then spin it really fast seems a bit much for sure.

Primaris marines are being replaces with Omegis Marines, which have six wounds and six attacks base, and are all the size of a Carnifex. They all carry an Eradicus Mega-Bolter, which is 60" Range, Assault 10, S7 -3, D3 damage. It's their only weapon option. Each marine will be a four-part, snap-fit model that costs 80$. The gun will have all the scopes.
