Ok the world has lost it's mind over baby yoda.

I'm wondering if a baby chewbacca would be cuter? I don't think we've even seen a baby wookie yet, so here's the closest I could find, a baby ewok.

Not really a fair comparison to baby yoda given the differences in filming technology and puppet making.

I'm thinking given baby yoda's success a baby chewbacca is basically inevitable. I guess then we'll have a battle of the deathstars of cuteness.

Yeah, seems like Baby Wicket would be a safer bet.

Or, you know, just more Ewok shows...

Or a series following the adventures of Gurglgutz, the baby Gamorrean!

True. That image actually looks cute, rather than CGI vomit.

That's a little unfair to some really good CGI that's been done over the years, but the bounty baby the Mandalorian was... standard? We're so inundated by it now that there isn't anything impressive about it. The computer folks put in their hours and produced the regular result.

Most of the baby in the mandalorian was a physical puppet.
They only did cgi for when it had to move unassisted.

I'm OVER 50 (and so far over everyone's BS, too).
Old enough to know better, young enough to not give a ****.

That is not dead which can eternal lie ...

You sure it didn't have a CGI layer to finish the look? Because nothing about that face looked like a puppet.

That's what happens when you give very talented people five million dollars to build a puppet...

Although I disagree. While it's very good, and certainly miles above even previous Star Wars puppetry, it's still quite clearly a puppet to watch it move. But, for me, a good puppet (or even a bad puppet, a lot of the time) is still considerably less immersion-breaking than a CGI character.
