That is so over the top, it’s awesome.

Really seems like the sort of armor if the user put his arms side by side in front of him (elbow to elbow, wrist to wrist), the two shoulder pads would clamshell the head, allowing him to charge headfirst down a hall through a hail of gunfire and not worrying about being hurt.

It never ends well

I seriously love seeing an updated version of the original Terminators. If I was still playing 40k, I would probably pick some up just for the awesomeness of it.

Lots of recent love for turtleback termies! At first I thought this was a repeat thread for the project covered here on dakka but it isn't. It's a good day to be a fan of this style!

Edit: oh oh... I clicked the link in the other thread for the first time in about a week and GW apparently copyright nuked them. I'd guess that this one would be at risk as well. Backers, caveat emptor.

We're reasonably confident that the models have avoided IP breach from GW's perspective. The Heresy Labs project had a copyright breach submitted against within hours of the project launching, they also had a lot of iconography which appears to the a lot of the cause. We intentionally left our models blank of icons for that reason and to allow easier conversions. We have done our best to avoid things which would put us in the firing line but still give a solid feeling of something which would fit in the universe.

Using them as a base for conversions allows you to make them even more focused on a particular faction if you want to go down that path. These are a few conversions which a couple of people have done with the prototype casts.

Are those cables running from the top of the pauldrons across the armored surfaces to the bottoms of the pauldrons? What do they do?

They exist because they were on the shoulder pads of the original Mk1 Terminator model...

Its one of the iconic elements of the older style armour which this is based on. Who knows what the original intention of the element was for fluff wise, perhaps it is the generation coil which produces the invulnerable effect?
Model wise, I suspect it was to break up the huge amount of clean space on those massive pauldrons

I thought these were based on the old egg-terminator designs. GW made minis of those??

People should keep in mind that the pledge manager can also be used to buy unarmoured space marine, earlier event models (like the tech-priest), and the Slaugth Xenos standins.
https://warhammer40k.fandom.com/wiki/Slaugth
Furthermore, the Kickstarter just announced that if you pledge for two sets of armour, you get $10 towards one of those other models.

Into the last 24 hours of the project for those keen to jump on board. Our caster is already hard at work getting kits ready so we can get a head start on the fulfillment.
