What's your favorite geek movie poster art? Fan made or professional, really good or so bad it's funny?

Fan made art for The Thing 1982, and really damn good.

At the distant opposite end of the quality spectrum, we have this official poster for "YOR: Hunter from the future." So bad I can't forget it...

"But MO-O-OM! It's Billies turn to take out the trash! I'm in the middle of fighting the main monster!" (Yeah, that was a little mean.)

I’ll add this video on the subject I found entertaining. TL/DR: google Polish movie posters.

PS: Yor has a kickass theme song.

Picking on Yorr is a bit mean as its one of amongst many of the sub freztta efforts that was almost a requirement in its low budget subgenre at the time

@ Bob oh hell yeah, although until Spoony did a YT about it I was half convinced I imagined / mis-remembered the whole thing

Guys, I'm tearing on that awful poster, not necessarily the movie.

Most at least had the decency to been drawn instead of trying to do it with live shots!

The nerve!

I love a good movie poster, but..... I also can;t think of one off the top of my head right now..... must go to google for a bit..... I will be back!

Exterminator 2 - awesome poster, terrible movie.

Once I move to a bigger place I plan on getting some movie posters to frame and put up, maybe this one and some other B movies.

I prefer to buy from miniature manufacturers that *don't* support the overthrow of democracy.

That Exterminator 2 poster is really great!

The 80s were a heyday for bad movies advertised by nice posters and/or video box covers.

This was one of the best pieces of art I saw for classic trek, especially it's original pilot.

This was a fan piece released as a foldout for the classic forbidden planet. it's a pity o one has redone it without the fold lines, this is really a beautiful tribute to the movie.

Like many, the movie is not that great and uses a lot of stock footage from other Gladiator movies, but.....

... I do enjoy the Poster....

It's been documented how movie posters of a given time period tend to have design similarities.

Anyway, I saw that Yor poster and thought of this one, a contemporary:

Spoiler:

It's not 'the same', but you have the main character roughly the same size on the sheet...with his main squeeze beside him and the landscape around him, saucers in the sky and the text at the top in a serif font with a lot of clipped sentences.

Yor seems to be from the same school that National Lampoon’s Vacation parodied. (With Star Wars as the likely progenitor.)

I dunno, I think the fold lines add to the affect!

I'm sooo, sooo sorry.

I would have no idea how to go about that!

Here is another good peplum/Gladiator movie poster....

Having seen this one too, I feel like they put more time and effort into the Poster!

Okay, that isn't fair as this one is an decent film set in Palmyra BUT the Gladiator action is a bit light. It is more of a Historical piece.

I had low expectations for you in particular.

That;s ok, no matter how low your opinion of me is it can't be as low as my concern for your opinion of me.

gorgon's out there busting his buns every night! Tell your old man to drag Manchu and BobtheInquisitor up and down the boards for 48 minutes!

Amidst the mists and coldest frosts he thrusts his fists against the posts and still insists he sees the ghosts.

Throw fire at a dragon, expect to get scorched.
