Subject: Two Idiots Printing Service - TIPS - Dark elf raptor knights, hobgoblins, and an orc samurai
I'm curious about the Dark Slayers. It's a stroke of genius to do them, but I'd like to request some scale comparisons with 40K and / or Warpath minis if possible. (Slayers work as well in sci-fi as fantasy.)
I'm keen to get some, but don't have a use for Slayers that, say, a Necron trooper would tower over. This isn't a "heroic" vs. "true" scale issue, just relative size.

40k I can do. I don't have anything warpath easily accessible at the moment.

This time its BigMrTong's enviro troopers. This is a standard squad, and BMT has stated via youtube that there will be variant options available soon.

Your orders were shipped and are marked as delivered. Did I miss a quote request? If so, I apologize
My order was delivered, yes. I was talking about back in November when I was sending emails back and forth with...I think Ross? I was asking about various Thingiverse files and if they could be printed in resin and for how much. Mostly, the things I was asking about were 3D files that couldn’t be printed as found on Thingiverse. But some of my questions were never answered. I admit Inmay have gotten carried away asking too many such questions.
And finally, a mounted hidalgo (knight/nobleman) from Caballero miniatures. Spear is for reference, model comes with a hollow hand for taking metal spears.
Time for another release. This time, we've partnered with Medbury miniatures from Austrailia to make prints of their figures available to a wider audience.
Some nice looking miniatures. Heroic scale versions of a popular true scale line for gamers who prefer heroic scale is an interesting idea. I’ll have to pick up a couple of the command dudes in good time. I’ve already got names: Isodor, Theowilldo, Bingolfin, Hubbard.
Is it just me or do the Lords of Westernesse helmet crests look like shrimp?

I think he based that off of a burgonet. which sort of lines up with the stylistic crest.
I collect:
Grand alliance death (whole alliance)
Stormcast eternals
Slaves to Darkness - currently Nurgle but may expand to undivided.

Subject: Two Idiots Printing Service - TIPS - Medbury miniatures release, men and elves and more men!
I received my order of Slayers. I apologise that this will not be a proper review, but more of an off-the-cuff sort of thing. Pictures may come later, time permitting.
The good:
--------
Having been advised that the printed minis may be very hard to separate from their supports, I was delighted to find how easy that was. Perhaps I was informed by someone who had printed in a different material. It's a little more work than cleaning mold lines from the average miniature, but not by much.
The quality of the casting was very good. These aren't the most ultra-detailed minis to begin with, but the detail they have is very good.
The bad:
--------
The following is entirely my fault, and whether it's even "bad" at all is down to your tastes concerning scale.
These guys are just too tiny for my purposes, and frankly, I should have known better, because I asked for and received a comparison with a Space Marine photo before ordering and, thinking "SLAYERS!", ordered them anyway. (Next time, I'll ask for a shot of the mini with a ruler.) I don't blame "Two Idiots" for my stupid impulsiveness, but I would like to ask if smaller minis like the Slayers can be slightly upsized upon request. If so, I may have to order a single test mini to see how it comes out, then place another order for the larger Slayers. Ordinarily I wouldn't contemplate buying a thing twice, rescaling or not. But, you know, SLAYERS!
If resizing the Slayers is impractical, I will probably be more wary about pursuing Big Mr. Tong's works going forward, as the safe assumption would be that he considers the Slayers to be of a standard humanoid height (as they were in the film) and will size his other releases similarly. In that event, perhaps I could ask the printer to pass along a request to Mr. Tong - whose sculpts and tastes strike a chord with me - if he would consider releasing future models in two sizes, perhaps, one being slightly larger? I can't help but like the guy; he even sculpts banana knights of all things, and, well, look at my avatar. Evidently our senses of humor both turn towards things banana.
Awright, it's not really fair to post this without a comparison photo of a slayer so you can know what I'm yammering about. I apologize for the crappy photo; can't find the charger for my good camera today. I think it serves the purpose. Also, I did my best to get bases of varying heights as even as possible. Apologies for any shortcomings on that.
From Right to Left: Mantic Enforcer, Big MrTong Slayer, Sedition Wars (inviso) trooper, Maelstrom's Edge Kaddar Nova. The Enforcer and Nova are converted, but not in ways that would impact their normal height. Note that the Slayer still has some supports I haven't removed - it'll look better with those removed. Heck, it'll look better in a decent photo that lets you see the darn thing properly. My iphone camera is crap.
Sorry for the inviso Sedition Wars trooper, too. I'm going with what I can find quickly here, but wanted to include the trooper because if that's the scale you like, you're in luck: the Slayers are a perfect match for it.

Vermonter, they can resize items by request. I put in an order for some of the Benin goblins at various different percentages of height and length/width to give them more human proportions, and they did it. In fact, I need to get some photos up of those guys because I think they look pretty good as Benin humans-in-big-masks.
Just eyeballing it, but I would expect the Slayers printed at ~120% (all directions) to size up well with the Mantic and Medge figures.

Yes, we can scale up the figures, as well as scale down. 10-20% in each direction won't be a problem. if you go bigger or smaller then that you risk potential detail loss. In the case of making models larger this is normally more elastic depending on the amount of detail a figure has. We've scaled up the peculiar companions turkic dark elves to 160% for someone who wanted them done at 54mm and by his account they came out well.
