And it says in the blurb that if you can't come in physically, the items will still be available whenever the stores can safely reopen for customers.

GW doesn't care who you vote for. They just told people not to be dicks.
I would disagree on both counts: fair treatment and social welfare have very much been politicized, and have therefore become political. Furthermore, they've always been so, or at least have been the case for centuries now, whether that's how we categorize people/citizens or humans we deem unfit for status as either category, or how we interact with those who need help from the state or their neighbors (health, insofar as it is about difference or social dependence/interdependence (including disease vectors) is always social therefore easily political. Would I wish that such treatment didn't involve political sides? Yes. But, for the foreseeable future they do. Saying human rights shouldn't be political isn't the same as saying human rights isn't political.

They offer click and collect, don't they? Not the same as mail order, but if they do have C&C just ring them when you're 5mins away our outside the store to pickup.

Simply not gonna happen. You want store stuff? You go to the store. It’s the whole point... driving footfall to keep stores open and their staff employed.
Overread is likely referring to the GW stores actually being able to take an order over the phone and then place it for you via the webstore.
Webstore won’t have the freebie or the offers tho.
Orders placed through the shop count as 'in store' tho.
Yes, but the freebies will physically be in the store. The webstore won’t have them to put into the order. Doesn’t matter what the order counts as, it matters that the freebie product is only in the store’s themselves.
Hence why I said talk to the store manager. If they can place an order for you online through the store and take payment over the phone then they can likely put the items such as the coin and/or model aside in an envelope with your name on to collect later. It's really not a huge issue considering the current times and they'll already have your payment processed and done so they won't be left out of pocket holding those items for you. I'm unsure if they can have things also sent to your home (this would mean the webstore order delivery site is just set to your home instead of to the store). You'd still have to go to the store to collect any freebies.
Now it might be that with the freebies the store manager can't make a web order on your behalf or such, if that's the case then you might also have to have what you buy put aside as well - long term projects, books, audio books, terrain. You might be able to think of things that you don't need "right now" but which you still want to spend your hobby money on. So you just push them forward and perhaps work on your do-do pile. Chances are if you're locked down enough that you can't head to stores chances are you aren't playing right now as well so time pressure on getting things might be a bit less.
At the very least you might do that and build up a few months/weeks worth of orders then go on one trip for them - cutting down the risk significantly.
Really the best thing is to talk to your local store and see what they can do for you. Of course most won't be open or processing anything until lockdowns end so unless you've a personal email/contact or your store keeper is checking their store facebook messages, then it might be a long wait to find out.

Some people will feel safe coming in today. Many won’t feel safe until (realistically) 2022. Will supplies really last for them?
*Seriously, will GW set aside stuff for “regular” customers? Because that would be cool.

I'd say speak to your local. Chances are if they know you they will likely oblige. If you're unknown chances are they will too (since for things like the coin its a payment you make to be eligible so they've got your money). However you'd likely have to touchbase with them every so often. Ergo you couldn't just do it and then not talk to them for 6 months till you get there.

No. That isn't even a reasonable ask.

Don't forget most GW stores aren't just the shoebox; there's often offices/room/space above the store. Heck one local to me at once stage had a whole floor full of spare and waste sprue from returned products and done promotions over the years etc...
In the end it might well come down to local stores and also your relationship with your local store.
I'd wager most people are cutting down on not-needed trips, but only a few will be totally isolated for a year or more. For them a local store might even just put the items in the post themselves for them as a customer relations move; simply because its likely only going to be a small handful who are like that.

I look forward to trying to get it in December; Which budget wise might be semi-good for me since Shadow and Pain isn't direct order only, but I can likely find an excuse to order a pair of Necron arks in December.

The coins annoy me, if they're conveniently 40mm objectives sized I'd probably just buy them for a fiver or something small, but being locked behind a physical store purchase of £60 is too much.

100% wont though.
As always with GW it’s first Saturday of the month for starting.
So this will run into December (and England reopening) to get this one before Saturday 5th is the second coin/model sets.

It's likely at present that coins 1 and 2 will come at the same time for the majority of England; Wales and Scotland might get coin 1 earlier if they unlock and resume trading sooner than England.

This is the big kicker, I don't plan on paying £720 in store in gw this year... or any to be honest.

That's how I feel about them too, Warhammer World has 2 Souvenir coins at £2 each, and 2 silver/gold plated Bugman coins at £10 and £12 each. If these were priced somewhere between that then I'd try and get them all, but a £720 spend for them is just absurd.

They look like tokens you'd put in an arcade machine though. I'm surprised anyone would want to pay £6-7 for a single one, let alone a set of twelve.

There is a slight charm to a weighty metal objective coin, I regret not getting the anniversary set a couple of years ago, it seemed a bit too much at the time.

Apart from possible use as objectives - which it should be noted, GW already sell for considerably less than £60 - I can't see why on earth anyone would even want the coins...?
They serve no purpose, it's not like they're even going to be remotely valuable for selling as a complete set (collectibles made for the sheer sake of being collectible while serving no other purpose never are).
If I wind up with a £58 spend by accident it's not like I'm going to spend even that extra £2 just for a coin that I actively do not care for.

I'll be honest, I'm baffled whenever I see people fall for "commemorative tokens" and any promotional material like that, the fact that you actually have to pay to get the silly things just makes me scratch my head even more.
If I were a kid I'd be excited for the free model, I remember being hyped about getting a free skink model in a local wargaming magazine literal decades ago, but why a grown person should be excited about that is also beyond me.

the free mini is nice if you´re thinking about starting an army of the faction. This way you can try out a color scheme and see if you like painting them and all it will cost is some time and paint.

Well the coin only costs £60 if you specifically set out to spend that much just to get the coin itself. In reality its a small prize for having spent money you were going to spend anyway. GW still sells plenty of models and products that aren't discounted much by 3rd parties. Books, audio books, "direct order" type products.
Clearly GW stores work at turning a profit and healthy sales otherwise GW would have done away with them years back. Heck who knows there might be enough that there's a semi-healthy secondhand trade in them.

I don't know what you think I'm saying? Because I think we have the same opinion on everything but the details or maybe the language? To expand, I think that human rights, insofar as they pertain to how you would want to treat and want others to treat other people, is political in that it expresses a worldview that affects interactions with others. I'm not at all arguing some sort of pluralist "they're just opinions" or "I believe in your right to be a bigot" or anything like that. I believe very strongly that there's no place for racism, but racism still exists, therefore it's a political problem insofar as it still exists as a problem. There's never been a point in human history where human rights have been apolitical; denouncing racism is a political action, as much as it would be great to live in a world where it didn't need to be perceived that way, because there are people who currently don't believe in such rights. As it continues to exist as a political problem, GW wasn't necessarily making a grand, bold, or revolutionary political statement, but they were making one, which is made obvious by the fact that people politically disagreed with it.
I wish something as basic as human rights wasn't a political problem, but believe that it still is until there's consensus. Was that not clear?
