After the initial double take I realised I actually like the Lumineth cav in the slightly Moebius, almost old Rackham way. At serious risk of sounding pretentious; you know how some of the saddest songs are actually in major scale? I love how the Lumineth hauty, traditionally elfish disposition is counter-balanced by ridiculous things like cloud cows in armour, watchmaker hammers and kangaroo cavalry. Where I always found their Old World (and Tolkien) ancestors to take themselves a little too seriously, I think the Lumineth are actually shaping up to be majestic as all get out (and that quality in itself is always a bit ridiculous, if we're completely honest).

I doubt Japanese were only ones that came up with. Just first picture I ran into searching for asymmetric bow. Not japanese bow or whatever. Asymmetric bow

I also wouldn’t describe Elves as having European features.
Pasty skin, yes. But pointed ears, almond shaped, black eyes and fine, pointed features aren’t notably European. Indeed, they’re not human features at all. Probably because they’re Elves.
Automatically Appended Next Post: Anyways.
Mystic Grotsnik Predicts.
I have consulted the Squig of Sense, and he reckons the Vampires, lore wise, will be Nagash’s emissaries to the mortal worlds. Those that rule over living populations.
Reckon the army will be fairly heavy hitting elites (the Vampires and their lessers), plus tar pits, including re-done Zombies.
If you’ve borne witness to Mystic Grotsnik’s astounding powers, you’ll know this is almost certainly wrong. But I figured I’d share it to stop the Squig of Sense getting all upset.

Someone in the other thread made the vampire look clearer
Presumably similar to this - but with bats

Ah.. an Aelfaroo. The equivalent of a current day sniper asking for a pogo stick.
I know elves were meant to be good with bows, but these aelves must be awesome to be requiring a handicap to firing.
And as for the disney vampire... meh. Such an uninspiring pose, but with the now requisit gw long plastic tendrils and stood on a piece of terrain.
Currently most played: Silent Death, Mars Code Aurora, Battletech, Warcrow and Infinity.

I feel like Mugatoo again, am I taking crazy pills ? That vampire looks ugly af, what are bats flying around holding its hair aloft ? How is that either menacing or evil ? It's like Fabio having his luscious hair carried up by loving humming birds.
Seriously, I love vampires but that just looks kinda stupid to me.

Except it’s legs suggest a running creature, not a hopping one.
Like a furry Parasaurolophus.

You do realize right that the thing doesn't move like kangaroo does? It's evident from the model itself.
The...thing...is...not...a...kangaroo. It does not MOVE like a kangaroo. All we can tell for sure regarding how it moves is that it does NOT move like a kangaroo so pretty bold of you to say how hard it is to shoot from top of one.

Yeah. Pretty much this.
Kangaroos struggle to move their hind legs independently. Which is why they crawl fairly clumsily if they move at slow, non-hopping speed.
The sculpt of the animal having one leg raised, one leg on the ground suggests a bi-pedal runner, more like a running bird or something along those lines.

Think you're being a bit generous Doc, the general body shape and positioning is the same bar one leg. It's 100% fine to like it, but it looks like a kangaroo.

Yes it has elements of it. Also tauntaun. And dinosaurus.
It's dishonest saying it moves like kangaroo and how archers could shoot from it though seeing we can already tell just from model it does not move like kangaroo.
Just because it shares some elements doesn't make it kangaroo and doesn't mean it moves like a kangaroo. And I doubt GW is calling it kangaroo either.
It...does...not...move...like...a...kangaroo. So could the complain about how they can shoot from top of it stop? How do people shoot archers from top of horse? From all we know it is even smoother ride than horse! We don't know how it moves so we can't tell how hard it is to move. We do know it does not move like a kangaroo though.

Since when did any logic in how something shoots or operate ever need to come into a warhammer game ? It would be as possible for someone in warhammer to get accurate archer fire from a kangaroo bouncing around as it is for most of the over the top things in the game.
Like a vampire training bats to carry its long beautiful hair for it as it does battle, for instance.
How do we know it doesn't move like a kangaroo ? Are we just assuming it does ? Because if we are, I am assuming it does move like a mighty War Roo.

The two hind legs moving independently. The one thing you can pretty much say is it doesn't hop like a kangaroo.
Vampire looks great to me. How the whole faction is similar

Well you can entitled to the opinion it doesn't move like a kangaroo but to me it does move like one, just with independent legs because it's that skilled. That is why its a War Roo and not your simple garden variety Rooling.
Edit. No its nothing like those, it's a War Roo, thank you much.
