Cursed City looks amazing. I’m all over it. The Wolf is a substantial model, and a nice deviation from what we’ve gotten in the past for vampires.

Also, there is nothing at all about the design of the model the Wolf that says Ogor. Neither his proportions, nor his features. Nothing from how he is quoted sounds like an Ogor. And most importantly, nothing from the info shared on the website mentions this detail.I think Eddie might have misspoken.

Well, nothing but his size, dress, and him saying that he already ate people before he was a vampire.

Vampires tend to stay stuck as they were turned. It might be that as an Ogor he was younger and not fully formed when he was bitten and turned and, whilst he's matured, he's not grown as big as his brothers.

It might be that the vampiric curse has other impacts on his body, sapping it of natural growth.

Another consideration is that he might have just been a runt of an ogor. Something we often overlook in miniature games is that not everyone in reality is the same. There's always natural variation within a species to consider.

- Lumineth Terrain is gorgeous, and easy to recreate.
- Ballista got me worried: the first angle made me thought the crew had an actual quiver on his/her back, but it was just a giant bag.
- Savage Orc warband looks cool, but the lack of toenails is just fing disgusting.
- Love both Death heroes for Broken Realms. Thor Sigmarine is the most stupid idea ever from GW, but at least he is from the Hollowed Knights instead of the ever present Hammers of Sigmar for once.
- I am digging absolutely everyting from Cursed City.
- PLASTIC BE'LAKOR.

Oldschool Wight King is fantastic, Cursed City does have some outstanding models, but I probably won't bother with the whole set.

The Wolf rather obviously has the face of an ogre. I realize not everybody grew up GW obsessed, but GW designs are pretty recognizable once you get used to them. And the wide shot shows him being ogre sized too.

He must be one of those high class, fancy Ogors that talks real good. Maybe he is, probably so, even, given that Eddie said he was. But what I have seen of the mini doesn’t shout Ogre at me.

I'm trying to decide if its supposed to be Captain America in Endgame or Thor in one of his own films. Or possibly Avengers, just after he brought Mjolnir down on something.
Either way, its a bit on the nose. And the flipped up backstraps that exist just so they can be flipped up as if he just landed don't do it many favors.

The not-all-gold armor is nice though. But I can't decide if he has two too many Thundercats on his armor, or three too few.

Efficiency is the highest virtue.

Well he’s exact for the cover art of the book. So all I see is that.
But I get what you mean.

But I don’t think he’s that small. Looking at him next to other minis. You can see he’s definitely big.

The model could pass as an Ogre, but none of the art gives any impression of him being an Ogre what so ever. He looks extremely human.

Even when next to the other figures he looks like a tall man, for an ogre he'd have to be stunted. Which I mean, maybe it's his backstory, but he does not look like any ogre GW produced in the last 20 years.

Ignoring the usual potentially icky concepts whenever half-monster races are introduced, it'd make darn little sense, seeing as ogors see everything else as a dinner and little else, and honestly, like orruks, we don't even know how ogors breed.

Either way, GW did away with half-X long ago and I doubt they'd bring it back. My bet is he's either undersized or they're going to scale ogors down slowly? The cossack ogor guards look very lean compared to the old post-Ogre kingdom models too.

I agree the art doesn't look anything like an ogre, and if that's supposed to be his face in the sky on the main piece of artwork, he REALLY doesn't look like an ogre. But the miniature looks exactly like an ogre.

Thought I'd do a quick size comparison for everybody, assuming I got the bases right, I believe they're all the same height despite width, so I think I did.

He is indeed a littler fella for an ogre.

In some aspects, he's clearly an ogre (gut plate, moobs, pantaloons, etc.) that could easily fit into an Ogre army as a maneater, or whatever they're called now but in other aspects (mainly size and thickness) he's just a powerful human and would look odd next to an actual Ogre figure.

That vampire ogre or whatever makes me want a proper plastic varghulf so bad. Especially if they made it look like the total war version, just beastly.

Separating out from all the specific reveals, I have to say that this is one of the meatiest previews GW has done. Rather than spending 15m revealing one mini and then running off to the next game system, they spent time looking at each thing, and each section had a lot to it.

I look forward to them doing a 40k version.

I do wonder if this is a sign of things to come? Alternating months for large reveals for each gaming Universe. I think I would genuinely enjoy that more than a bit from 40k and a bit from AOS.

Seeing this wasn't first dedicated to one universe and first one had lots of mixed ones doubt it.

All we can tell for sure is gw does dedicated ones occasionally

I don't see anything that reminds me of an ogre on that mini. Even his face is more ''fat human that went feral'' than Ogre like. But then, the twitch stream clearly stated that he was an ogre, so I guess he's one

People keep pointing to his bare chest and gutplate, but to me that just says 'Chaos marauder', not necessarily 'ogre'. If this was set in the Old World, I'd say from his clothing that he was probably a Norse trader living in Kislev (or vice versa) before becoming a vampire. I'd literally never guess he was an ogre.

Even his bulk looks like it comes mostly from wearing a significant quantity of dead wolf.

If he's really supposed to be an ogre, then I'm sorry but the sculptor did a bad job. Which is weird, given all the other minis in this game look absolutely awesome IMO.

Is that not just a normal recurve bow?

Ogre Vamp looks blood bowl ogre sized to me, those are a little snake than the normal ones aren't they?

He has the torso, upper legs and possibly the arms of an ogre (it's difficult to tell from the angle an how he's covered in that wolf pelt - the hand at least is large-ish), but the feet are very dainty compared to the plastic ogre in my hand I'm comparing him to, the ankles are correspondingly very delicate, and the head, even when dwarfed by that hat, looks substantially smaller too.

If you had told me he was indeed supposed to be a half-human half-ogre, I'd believe you in an instant. An actual ogre though? Nah.

His quote doesn't look like how Ogor would speak, in comparison to an actual Ogor on the hero team.

on the other note 'Poster girl" Knight lady, despite being at the front of the box, is the blandest and most boring looking one among the hero, Probably because they ran out of sprue space for her, ouch.

The quote works for me as I could see him becoming more intelligent when turned to a vampire (I seem to remember that being a thing?) and ‘pick your flesh from my teeth with your bones’ is a pretty ogre thing to say...

Ogors are typically diminutive because that’s their entire culture.
Becoming an immortal creature does give you time though.

Considering he isn’t surrounded by other ogors either, I’d say it is possible for one to actually become semi intelligent.

Either way, the heavy Kislev vibe got me straight away.
Will need him and a few of his bodyguards to make a unit.

Also hoping some of this stuff gets AoS rules.
Doubt it will be FEC friendly, but I can hope.
Either way my finecast Varghulf is getting replaced with the plastic critter.
