Well, here’s Belakor in his ”full” glory. They were zooming and panning in several angles, so it’s not perfect:

Had time to settle down and digest what we were shown.
Lumineth stuff is mostly fantastic. Only one I’m iffy on is the Loreseeker. Somehow it just doesn’t quite work. Now, it may simply be the angle of the photograph, so final opinion remains in development. But it’s bits and bobs just look a wee bit chunky. Main offender for me is the armpit scale mail. The individual scales just seem a bit big. Reduce by 50%, and add more, could look a lot best.
Gardus - whilst they’re not hurting for releases, it is nice to see Stormcast get a second named character. And a pretty visually interesting one for my money. I’m particularly fond of the helmet.
Mounted Wight King. Yes. 100% yes. Literally nothing I do not like about that bad boy. Most Impressively, it doesn’t look “new”. If you put that amongst existing Wight Cavalry, I don’t think the casual eye could tell there’s a several year gap between the two kits. Wonderful job.
Ghost Boy. Erm....not quite my cup of tea. I think it’s the Warmachine style “unfeasibly large thing attach”. Nothing fundamentally wrong with it, just not one for me.
Mad mob. Absolutely love it. I’ve a weakness for Savage Orcs (once had an all metal army. Fully painted too!) and like the Wight King, nice to see they’ve not reinvented that particular wheel.
Cursed City. I’m excited. I am very, very, very excited. Everything looks fantastic. I even quite like the Zombies, as they’re certainly a different take on what is now a fairly tired trope.
Hero models all look interesting. Emelda does look a bit plain, but I think for a dedicated warrior, the lack of wafty detail suits. Importantly for me, none look overwrought. Practical clothing and armour, nothing too flashy. Favourite for me is the Ogre. Getting strong “Marauder Miniatures” vibes from it.
Gimme gimme gimme gimme gimme gimme gimme!

Thanks Kanluwen for running this thread and Matrindur for your contribution!
Sadly couldn't keep up with it as it was running as I was playing in a tourney but my goodness did it deliver. Loving most of the new Lumnieth things that have been shown and it seems that running an all Vanari army is going to be entirely doable. Really surprised that the new version of swordmasters is Vanari as I had it in mind that they were going to be River Temple, why I am not sure (Underworlds?) but with a head swap from the Wardens kit they will look cool. The ballista being three stringed doesn't bother me which also was surprising, I spent ages cutting out the extra strings from my archers but will probably leave that as is.
The rest of the reveal was cool as well, not into WHQ but it looks nice and the Underworlds warband doesn't do it for me (was really hoping for a sneak peek at the OBR).

It's funny because I was convinced that the Swordmasters were going to be River Temple.
I'm glad that this one is super Vanari heavy though. The Underworlds one seems to fit in with the Swordmasters too, rather than River Temple.
Personally, I like the three stringed bows.

Very nice; was planning to have a go myself this afternoon while secretly hoping someone would beat me to it, so thanks!
This may well end up being one of my favourite large models GW have done in a long time; perhaps one of the best ever. Solid pose (not hopping around like the Bloodthirster, or standing weirdly on his weapon like the Verminlord), relatively restrained in terms of extra details (just classic chains, skulls and hooks) and no massive amounts of floaty gak (flaming sword is.. alright, rarely a fan of how it looks moulded in plastic, but it does provide a spot of colour in an otherwise dark grey model). Still fear he will be incredibly boring to paint in his typical colours, but let's see about that later. Just wish the normal plastic daemon prince had 10% of the quality this one seems to have.

Robot?
Only his forearms are cybernetic, the rest of the arm, shoulders, and spine are human still...

Eh no spine is artificial. As are quite a few internal organs(like lungs that were replaced with iron version), nearly 100% of his skin, lots of bones were artificial etc. As obi wan said he's more machine now than man.
And point was him lifting antilles in a way no human could instantly reveals he's not just human in suit but something unnatural.

Funnily enough, aside from the special edition/shop b-day stuff, Stormcast had nothing released since summer of 2018 when 2nd ed hit and their battletome got released. That's nearly 3 years of no mainstream releases, which I think people don't quite register.

So, if that chaos warrior were upright, he'd be about what, knee high? So that puts Be'lakor about bloodthirster sized?

"But me no buts! Our comrades get hurt. Our friends die. Falkenburg is a knight who swore an oath to serve the church and to defend the weak. It is an oath we honour. Even when some soft southern burgher mutters about us, we know the reason he sleeps soft and comfortable, why his wife is able to complain about the price of cabbages as her most serious problem and why his children dare to throw dung and yell "Knot" when we pass. Legendary Master of the Chapter
|
AOS just cementing its amazing model design, makes my former 40k love turn into mush. Ugh these are all wonderfully designed.
Yeah the lumineth banner carrier and the balliistia is the only models of that range I do not like but man I really like the Eastern Influences on the models, the silk under armor (which was always bulky which gives the model a nice 'flow' and feel to them).
Here are my favorite models of the lumineth
0 : Kangroo War Riders (Cause they are so cool they break all conventions)
1. Warden (Sword Variant)
2. Blade Lords
3. Goku/Air Mage
4. Loremaster
5. Wind Spirit (Regular)
6. Painter
7. Twins
8. Spear Warden
9. Special Wind Spirit
10. Ballistia
11. Bannermen
I think thats all the new lumineth coming out? unless they also released a unmounted Vanari HQ Choice.

Becoming an immortal creature does give you time though.
Considering he isn’t surrounded by other ogors either, I’d say it is possible for one to actually become semi intelligent.
Either way, the heavy Kislev vibe got me straight away.
Will need him and a few of his bodyguards to make a unit.
Also hoping some of this stuff gets AoS rules.
Doubt it will be FEC friendly, but I can hope.
Either way my finecast Varghulf is getting replaced with the plastic critter.
Well you can be happy.
There’s warscrolls for it all in the box.

Yeah, but assuming he’s buying the models, thus getting the box, then the pertinent information is - the warscrolls are in the box.

Depends on the alliances.
Anything that has the FEC key word I’ll instantly get.
The big critter I’ll get anyway as it’s a nice Varghulf alternative.
I’ll likely just pick bits up from eBay but the scrolls are always on the app anyway.

That said, those Lumineth make me wish I had picked up stuff from the beginning, but my buddy is gonna be pretty happy with them when they drop
