Ha! I looked at it and saw him saying "fear this potato, for it is doom...!" I like the mounted version better than the foot guy. But he is likely to be a free hero included with the bigger pledges anyway.

I like him. I wasn’t sure about the feathers, but the more I look, the more I get younger dwarven prince. I like him more than the potato if doom... but I kind of like the Runelaerd too. Though the resin heroes were my least favorite part of ks1...

I think the feathers are there for the Landsknecht vibe. But certainly to anyone used to GW fantasy tropes, feathers = elves.

I asked on Facebook. There wont be any female heroes in this campaign. It looks the the 2 resin heroes are it as far as heroes go.

The kits will be
* 1 ranged kit - that can make either crossbows or muskets.
* 1 melee kit - that will have spears, melee weapons and shields
* 1 mounted kit- that will have options for pistoliers or knights.

So 3 kits and 2 heroes. Though in a post Fireforge had said there would be 7 kits in the kickstarter. but i am not sure if they are counting each kit as 2 as they can make different units? and Possibly counting a command sprue as seperate as well. Speaking of which, there will be a command sprue. If it follows with the Northmen, there should be a command sprue in each set. (same sprue).

Fireforge still has not confirmed a launch date, but says they are thinking the middle of April. so either the week of the 12th or the week of the 19th likely.

Resin heroes were available as add-ons last time, so should be here too. They also opened it up to buy existing stuff at a discount last time too... So if you are interested in any of their historicals or the northmen or undead... it will probably be available,. I am kind of wanting some Byzantines.... so maybe.

Sword in the shoulder is one of the most badass poses one can give to any character. A shame they don't use it more instead abusing of tactical rocks.

Dakka does have White Knights and is also rather infamous for it's Black Knights. A new edition brings out the passionate and not all of them are good at expressing themselves in written form. There have been plenty of hysterical responses from both sides so far. So we descend into pointless bickering with neither side listening to each other. So posting here becomes more masturbation than conversation.

The spears themselves or the angles they are being held? I’m not sure on them. I think I am going to do 3 units of 20. That’s 60 dwarves which is 5 boxes (at12 per box). I know one unit will be hammers. One will likely be 2 handed weapons... and maybe the last will be spears, also one unit will be all female... probably the hammers.

More the angles but I just cannot explain it better than that they do not look right with these dwarves.

The big resume thread about our upcoming kickstarter campaign for our Dwarves!

Campaign launch: mid/end april
Box sets (hard plastic multi-part kits):
- Hammerers: shields and one handed weapon (war axe/mace) or two handed weapons
- Warriors: shields and sword or spears
- Arquebusiers: pavise and arquebus
- Crossbowmen: pavise and heavy crossbow
- Rambukk Riders: options for pistols, warhammer/mace/axe, lances or sword

Any box set will contain a command frame with all the options to assemble musician, standard bearer and champions

Will be also released 2 character multi-part kits in resin (our new resin used for byzantine varangians)

Please help our project sharing this post

Any questions?

Why would some kits (Hammerers/Warriors or Arquebusiers/Crossbowmen), that seem only to be different by a weapon carried, not be a dual kits or rather the same kit with weapons options? Is it because there would be no space on the frame to put all the weapon options?

I asked on Facebook, specifically about the warriors and hammerers. “ The hammerers and warriors are different sets? Are the torsos and heads different? Or just different weapon options?”

“ Bill Redford just different weapons (there is not enough space on the frame)”

Automatically Appended Next Post:
I prefer the muskets over crossbows, so my choice is clear there... the rams are one kit so I don’t have to make a choice there... but the hammerers vs warriors... I was gonna get 5 boxes (60 dwarves) to make 3 units of 20... but now I am not sure what to buy.

If I would need to choose between 4 boxes and get only 2 then it would be Hammerers and Arquebusiers. I like more axes/hammers etc. on the dwarves rather than swords/spears, and black powder guns look simply better than the crossbows on the pics shown so far.

I agree, and this is how I am leaning right now.

Too bad they couldn't have just made the weapons on a separate sprue of mixed weapons then and added other bodies or options on the main sprue. Either way they will sell, I am really impressed with their kits that I have seen.

As far as the future of the range... Fireforge said

“after dwarves we will have another big Kickstarter in September but in the meanwhile we will release other kits without any campaign”

So another is in September... Orcs? With smaller releases outside of Kickstarter in between.

I would be happy with the not-Lannisters... but... I doubt they will be in September. They have already shown wip stuff for the orcs. And at one point seemed to imply the prcs were before the dwarves.

The not Lannisters on the other hand... when asked, all they will say is that they are still planned but not soon. Other than the initial concepts from ks1, nothing more has been previewed on them. They have said though that there may be something more for the northmen coming soon. I am hoping for some artillery, or some unique units... like Not-Mormont Amazon women,

But I would say in all likelihood, maybe another box or two of northmen maybe released on their own outside of Kickstarter... and then likely orcs (based on the wip stuff they have shown) in September.

But this is just me speculating, not based on any hard facts,
