Tbh, I found the Dungeons and Lasers Ksere so impossibly reasonable that I don't particularly care about paying for a mat I don't want, if it's anything like DL3 then it'll still be great value.

Although I am possibly bias by the fact they always send early instead of a year late!

I like the Myconids. In fact I like this KS much more than I expected so far. Shame about the mats though.

It's truly unfortunate that they all come with mats because I don't ever use them. So I'll probably skip out on this one.

I mentioned on the Gamefound project page that a 3x3 paper mat, with one side grid and one side non-grid, would attract miniature skirmish gamers, while a 2x2 gridded neoprene would dissuade them (like this thread is showing).

As guessed earlier, the swamp mat uses "negative space" for the swamp itself.

I'm going to guess that the rocky terrain set can be painted to suggest snow, for Frostgrave players, who might be interested in a 3x3 snow mat (add-on?). I know WizKids already has some Icewind Dale and other snow-covered buildings that would work with a snow mat.

Well, we'll see how it goes. Archon throws in plenty of SG's to make any pledge a good purchase. Maybe swap some D&L rooms for terrain sets...

Obviously these mats are gridded for RPG players so switching the neoprene to being non-grided wouldn't be helpful to Archon for the market they want to hit but the double-sided paper or cardboard mat would be great.

Creatures Pack - good mix of forest/swamp creatures in there some big pieces too. The Fen Beast reminds me of the old WHF Albion one and the werewolf has a human form as well.

I assume the pledges will be like Rampart 3 - €100 for 1 Terrain Pack of choice, 1 Creature Pack and 1 SG pack. €150 for 2 terrain packs, 2 SG and 1 creature pack and €200 for 3 Terrain packs, 3 SG and 1 Creatures.

Minis only was €50 so they might do something similar for this set.

The Peryton? Yes, looks quite cool.

I too would prefer a mat with no grids, or even no mat at all. Or the option to trade the mat in for x amount of credit. So far, the swamp is the clear winner, as I don't have anything swampish, but lots of forest and rocks.

Pretty neat models. I'd have preferred no "victims" as they kinda lock the whole thing out of some settings. Also keep in mind the largest base there is 50mm, so these creatures might be a lot smaller than you think.

Love that peryton, hate that there's some dude attached. Archon doesnt seem to get that they should make monsters more generic, particularly since we're likely to end up with multiples. Don't have them holding a cow or have soldiers consist of only women. As dumb as the viking duck is, at least if you have 3 of them on the table they'll look "normal" rather than the party fighting 3 ducks holding a whole other mini as a human shield or some gak.

I'm unfamiliar with how Archon's corwd funding offering works - is there any chance models more in the real of player characters might get done as thier own add-on/ offering, or would stuff like that come as more stretch goals are unlocked.

They did a lot of the player character minis in D&L3 have a look here

You can still late back the Townsfolk set €29 and SG set €25 on Gamefound. (Note Giant,Troll, Phoenix and Ghost Dragon not included unless you get at least a Village pledge or any pledge level with terrain sets). They normally offer previous stuff during the current funder but with the change to Gamefound can’t say for certain. Also note the minis are true 28mm in scale.

It’s more likely they’ll do woodland themed stuff this time for the SG but we won’t know until the crowdfunder is underway. Anything not in one of the 4 sets (Woods, Swamp, Ruins, Creatures) will be an SG. They normally sell mini sets and SG sets separately if you don’t want the terrain (but with limits on some large items.)

Both! As you've seen on D&L3, Archon had a townsfolk set (mostly village) and humans in their SG's (more village, but some possibly for PC's). However, keep checking the D&L Fans FB pages for scale comparison of Archon vs. other companies. Archon is slightly smaller, but this shouldn't affect your tabletop games. Might be more noticeable when the mini's are close to others, as in photos or miniatures in a PC party.

I've come to realize D&L scales with Wizkids Deep Cuts, which is exactly what it should scale with for RPG players. That Reaper is all over the place from 28 to 35mm is a Reaper problem, not an Archon problem.

(Rampart minis might want to aim for 40k scale tho)

It’s just an assumption for now but they have been upping the prices a bit over the last few KS and Rampart 3 was the first time just getting multiples of the base pledge wasn’t the best option they’ve got wise to that but the value is still in the stretch goals so at least higher pledge levels came with multiple sets. This looks like it’s set up more like Rampart 3 as it doesn’t have rooms like D&L3 but themed sets - but Rampart 3 didn’t do the money they expected so maybe they’ll do something different again.

Company background
- 7 CNC machines can make 135 tools per year
- 8 injection machines can make 3 million sprues per year.
- Looked at Siocast but not interested in using it.
- Polish regulations make PVC manufacturing difficult so must be made in China. As D&L is HIPS not PVC it’s not affected but it does affect some of their board games.

Shipping
- Warehouse max capacity 30,000 boxes - average per pledge 16 boxes, stock on hand may be a limiting factor in shipping a pledge.
- can ship 300 pledges per day - 200 allocated to D&L 3 100 to other projects
- There is a data bottleneck of 5 days so the item may have been shipped in advance of the tracking updating on Gamefound
- D&L 3 shipping - 2347 pledges shipped by end of May
- expected end date for shipping 1st or 2nd week July
- Rampart 3 to start shipping end of July - 6 months early

That's interesting about PVC being more difficult to work with than HIPs regulations wise

heard their shipping limits before but it's something i'd like more places to detail as it's a key part of fulfilling big projects like a KS (and i've heard plenty of stories about shipping companies turning up places with a full truck and not accepting anything some days)

still want to hear there's going to be a mat free pledge

and if that is the really big figure i'd almost say it's verging on too big but it may grow on me as more detail (?) is added

Well, much less interested now, but mebbe the SG's will help. I've been following the lockdowns in China, and they're letting up. No idea when they'll be back again.

Looking forward to seeing what we get with Land of Giants. How many here have big-arse fantasy terrain? I know Reaper had it with Bones awhile back.

Those LoG look really good...they will probably drag me in for that scenery.

It's going to depend on the stretch goals as i'm not really feeling it with whats on offer (now if they dropped the mat and went to 85 Euros i'd probably back from the start)

7.5 inches tall with that level of chonk is going to be a pretty hefty model. No idea what I'd do with him, but he'd be a big boi

Hopefully there's add ons for just the terrain. The map and tarrasque are really bloating the price.
