I finally got the elevation sprue I wanted after months of complaining ;D

Our team is working on an exact solution to work with the caves terrain atm, and the next update should contain the 2D concept, if not the 3D renders.

I do think having some elevation can push the terrain more into the territory of wargames as well as RPGs. I'm thinking of stuff like the Middle Earth Strategy Battle Game and Frostgrave. Plus verticality always makes for more interesting fights!

If the plan is to add ramps and stuff that supports the existing tiles, I wonder if sufficiently generic pieces could work for all the cave types?

Verticality in play is great so elevation is much appreciated.

I really like the mushroom sprue.

Just a small update from the AMA as they are still moving and it's holiday time.

Elevation sprue is in concepting.Corner columns and plus hanging trims. Working on a design that goes diagonally across the pin holes so that the upper platform is rotated 45 degrees.
Some renders of statues shown.

@Archon - have you considered making some oval textured bases for cavalry etc.?

That's a bit too specifically made for wargamers, we'd rather make stuff for TTRPG fans primarily. If/when we do release our own wargame it'll definitely be something to consider

@Archon: Maybe add dead bodies to the list, if you haven't done so already. Not sure which ones (maybe take a survey or see if a D&D starter set has some dead bodies to look at), but a scenario I'm playing for Gloomhaven: Crimson scales calls for a dead adventurer as an objective. Loot the body!

Dead bodies are a recurring ask, I'll add them to the list

@Szymon_Archon - could you please post your list here so we could see if there is anything to add to it?

Survey for D&L 7

https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSesfoY4MerPJyVgTkmuRVqtFCsnMGUuikJsYyS7RkuST2jJyw/viewform?mc_cid=bdfb86dd00&mc_eid=9491651ee8

- What themes would you mainly like to see for a miniature-focused campaign?
- What are some large boss monster miniatures you’d like to see the most?
- Would you like to see multiparts on generic enemies? These kinds of sprues would feature many different combinations of assembly for 1 type of humanoid enemy, letting you create many different miniatures, at the cost of having leftover parts. The current proposition is to have 5 miniatures on the sprue, with options for all ranged or all melee assembly, and possibly having parts for other classes if it fits the creature.
- Do you want to receive scatter terrain together with your miniature sets, or would you prefer to receive more total miniatures?
- Would you be interested in more sci-fi in future campaigns and sets?
- Which sci-fi theme would you be interested in the most?

Thanks for the link
Voted for Encounters 2.0, more dragons/ogres/cyclops/hydra/giant spiders and scorpions/werewolves, multipart enemies, scatter terrain with minis, no interest with s-f campaign at the moment.

It looks like you can take the survey more than once so I added there a Medieval (roughly XIII-XV century equivalent) Village option.

I noticed that but have only done it once (so far!). Looks like Seaports is the clear winner at the moment with 33% of the vote.

From the AMA Archon has signed a deal with Bethesda to make games based on 2 of their IPs in 2025 full reveal coming soon.

Elevation sprue from today's update. Both stairs are in multiple parts so I assume they could be used to cover multiple levels by adding more parts.

Guys - what do you think about mountains? I do not want anything gigantic but something bigger than the hills from Encounters 1.0 would be nice. I mean a thing that can fully cover at least a troll, maybe even a giant.

@Archon: Would like to see modular ships, as well as things to customize for both merchant and war. Please make the ships compatible with the D&D Sinister Secret of Saltmarsh ships!

Agree 100% when it comes to modular ships, I'd also like us to have the option to use the parts to make an airship. Right now we're just waiting for enough of the team to be in the office at one time so we can organise a proper meeting

I think some modular flat hills that the existing hills could go on top of would be great. I wouldn't mind variants with less vegetation on them as well. 2 inches or so high, with the ability to store them nested in each other as well would be good.

I wouldn't mind if Archon quietly took over the HeroScape terrain market. (:

Scale (HS uses hexes over 1" wide) might be an issue, but Hasbro pretty much abandoned the line and the HS audience using their own 28mm-32mm miniatures anyway. Archon could unofficially create PnP HS stat cards for Deuslair miniatures.

Eh, I can dream.

AMA Caves update

- only small details and props finished, including the pools and icy rivulet (also shown on facebook) - sculptors have been focused on other things.
- Goblins Lair, Traps and Carnage tract sprues shown (see pics)

- D&L 7 will be called Porthaven
- Q1 2025 crowdfunding launch.
- expect a large modular HIPS ship with options - airship, ghost ship, shipwreck. Referenced Reapers PVC ship without directly naming them.
- Pirate themed minis, normal pirates, zombie pirates, port NPCs, plus monsters requested in survey - more dragons.
- Animal companions.
- Ship is the core pledge but can swap for minis only.
- time for feedback is now as the ship will be sculpted first and sculpting will start soon on the ship. Probably needs 8 tools need to keep price affordable.
- smaller ships maybe with airship options.
- Port buildings mentioned possibly in Prismacast. Buildings may be actual dedicated building designs rather than the current modular walls plus roof and floor.
- Prismacast for ship will depend on complexity of parts.
- supplementary 150 page rulebook for the ship.
- might forego bases for more minis as the base sprues take up the same resource as a mini sprue.
- Spell effects moved to upcoming game rather than D&L.
- no more playmats planned for now until they can do them inhouse - no more outsourcing to China all manufacturing in Poland going forward.

- Currently have 2 Prismacast machines for manufacturing, 3rd required for testing.

Hmmm I think it would be a mistake to not do wooden decking bases.

Pirate theme holds no interest for me so I will back only if other minis like animal companions, dragons etc. are there in enough numbers and variety.

Some of my own feedback

- Reapers pirate ship was way too big to be practical so in the end I didn’t get one even at the $100 price. Don’t go too big just because you can. Modular sections can make the ship bigger but it reaches a point where the repeated sections just look off.
- bases I’d like to see more of the street type bases from D&L3 I got a lot of use out of them. The Forest type Encounters bases and the Deuslair bases have remained in boxes untouched. A full decking sprue might be a bit much but maybe a half and half compromise?
- dedicated building designs yes please again modular isn’t always better and the current buildings just don’t look quite right especially the roofs and the compromise with the trims. Something like GWs lake town house but scaled up a little. https://www.warhammer.com/en-GB/shop/Lake-Town-House?queryID=72a815d0365e56ced2710e0b6229c38f

I hope we have more buildings than port themed ones because I really want a proper medieval (about XIII-XV century like) village.

I see Szymon mentioned on Discord this morning that only scattered terrain is planned along with the ship and minis so the buildings might be getting a bit ahead of current plans, Jarek definitely mentioned them though.

Here's some very functional sized ships

https://www.printablescenery.com/product-category/fantasy/3d-printable-ships-and-boats/page/2/

Keep in mind Firelock Games already make a very affordable plastic Sloop and the only way from there is bigger, so probably something like the Frigate.

And for the love of god no obvious grid on the deck, almost all the 3d print ships have a battlemat skorched into the floor and it looks awful.

There's gonna be a lot more than just pirates, the main theme is a port town and I'm taking this opportunity to introduce sets that should have been released a long time ago

There's a pretty large audience for large modular ships, at the very least looking at Dwarven Forge's fanbase, same with the Reaper ship actually, it seems to go out of stock within hours or minutes
