The IG sprue is the first genuine insult I've seen from GW.

The grot is a bit of an afterthought, he could have had a whole little bunker up there.

Really not keen on the new Zodgrod, looks kinda bland for a special character the hair being an exception to that.

Think it's more a case of the arms and hands are a bit disproportionate and off. You might be able to excuse the bodies but the arms and hands will be telling. Particularly with any officers, sergeants or specialists.

To hold my anger for a second in, Victoria Miniatures has both Male and Femal models for most of there line. All together, there is enough of a difference.

Actually now that you mention it this upgrade stunt thing just opened a big door for all those third party doing generic futuristic troops.

The iron boss from Artel W came out before the new Ghazgkull model from saga of the beast.

Seriously, that cadian upgrade sprue is killing me. I can't help laughing thinking about it. The ultimate "feth you, we're gonna keep selling you the same old kit as base for quite a while 'cause no one cares about basic imperial guard soldiers".

So...they went through the trouble to sculpt new arms, weapons, and heads for Cadians. Why not just a new kit at this point? I mean its nice that the kit will finally have all of the special weapons in it finally. If they don't jack up the price of the kit it will at least be more worth buying than the Command Squad set now. I dunno, 5 years ago doing the upgrade sprue might have been fine for me, but at this point I've either grabbed all the special weapons I need from the Command Squad box (before the price hikes of the past 3 years) or bit sellers. It is nice to finally get a bolter in explicitly Cadian arms at least. Also I suppose nice that now not every guardsman using a power sword isn't an amputee.

I dunno, when it comes out finally if the price isn't jacked up to high heaven I might grab a box to tool around with or for conversion work, but overall seems a bit lackluster.

I am really a bit suprised that Thousand Sons are coming this soon. I wasn't expecting them this year at all.

This also means that Vanilla Chaos are even further back. I wonder if this means something about that dex.

I don't think they're going to re-do Cadians. When the revisit, they'll do what they're doing with Orks and what they've done with every other faction. They'll create two or three totally new units that make up a new sub-faction. Like the Tempestus Scions. They aren't going to update ranges anymore.

But hey, in the meantime you can have Cadians with facial hair, or who lost their helmet.

New orks look great. Loving the rasta Zogrod. My only criticism is that the pieces of flair on their backs make it too easy to tell the duplicated poses. I'll be trying to get the army box for sure.

Cadian upgrade sprue is kind of random, I seem to be in a minority though in that I like the existing Cadian kit. Rather than replacing it with a new version in the future I hope they redo the Catachans and/or make a Steel Legion/Krieg kit instead. A much better use of their time!

GK vs Thousand Sons will surely just be a battle box with a new character model for each faction in it? Maybe Stern vs M'kachen?

Fire and magic looks just like a battle box with a new ksons sorcerer and grey knight character in it. Probably just new codices without many new new models like admech or dark eldar. Orks and sisters are both getting larger range updates. Tyranids are probably getting a handful of kits at most. Core csm could use a new codex and a couple characters, but are mostly covered. Emperors children are likely to be the next csm subfaction book, with all the focus on slaanesh recently, hints of fulgrim, and how noise marines dont have any plastic kits, 15 years old or no.

I have no idea how they can tackle that book in the new format without supplements. It has 15 subfactions many of which are amongst the most divergent in terms of fitting into a unifying doctrine equivalent (Word Bearers/Night Lords)

I guess they could drop the 7 that were patched in during 8th.

Well yeah, that was the point of having a live everyday of this week. Making views.

But the content was clearly enough for just one day. They stretched it out quite a lot with useless chatting in these half-hours.

I sincerely hope GW gets some backlash for that idiotic upgrade sprue. I sadly doubt it, but a man can dream.
I am still kinda speechless as to the sheer magnitude of douchiness GW is displaying here.

You can even have a cadian still wearing his covid mask outside in the 41st millenium. You can just hear him telling his squad mates that this is the "new normal".

Truthfully, it points for my mind more towards a couple of different potential things:
-A dedicated Guard range revamp is in the works, with them wanting to shift some items that are currently only in the Cadian Command set(Sniper Rifle, Meltagun, Plasma Gun, Plasma Pistol, Power Sword, and Bolt Pistol) into a format that is more readily available.

-A dedicated Guard range revamp is in the works and they're still wanting to solidify the final aesthetics for the actual range itself.

I choose "they don't intend to make new cadian miniatures because they'll make another unknown regiment to sell more boxes".

Why do you think they make the Beastsnaggas ? Because it's something no one owns, including the ork veteran players. You want to play them ? Gotta buy them all from scrap. You get more sales from entirely new miniatures, not mere redesigns.

I will say I really love that Ork Mega Armor boss. I don't even play 40k (much less Orks), but may pick it up just to paint.
