To try and obscure invisible watermarks placed using stenography that would identify the leaker.
(TBH I am not sure GW would actually pay out for the amount of money those things cost to do well but it's not impossible so it's a reasonable precaution.)

AHHH great spot!! Finally! It looks great!
The only thing I'm worried about now is how many of 'em you get in a box. Luckily, I have lots of old ones to get by with, but for new players, I hope to not see 6 copies of that guy show up on the battle field.
Edit: Dudeface beat me to it

But this one doesn't really thematically fit with that concept- I'd expect a full 'warlock conclave' box (of 6?), but probably just 3 for the convenience of unit size (and selling multiple for a 'full unit').
Something like the TS 'exalted sorcerers' box (for good or ill).

This is going to be an expensive year. I’ve not seen a new Eldar mini I didn’t want to get.
I’d say I already have enough warlocks, but if my army is growing the way it looks like it’s going to, I’ll need more psychic support.
And I have twenty something rangers, unpainted harlequins from 30 years ago, but... already been looking at chaos marine conversion kits and yada, thinking about that coming box, and finally painting these OG chaos terminators and a lord that I have been carting all over the planet as well. Not a great big fan of the chaos walker machine that is shown in the coming eldar box, but someday I might be able to trade it off...

Poor Custodes players, even Eldar Warlocks with their Singing Spears get flat 3 damage weapons now. Weird stuff, but at least it makes up for their low attack profile I guess.

Build the farseer on sky cutter and then you have a spare warlock helmet and spear. Not ideal but plastic alternatives exist that can be considered spare bits

Witch weapons were always weirdly good compared to how crap their wielders are. Though they used to be decent anti-vehicle weapons, which isn't really true anymore. Too foiled by saving throws.

It’s a throwback of sorts to 2e when you could store warp charge in a psyker’s “force weapon” to enhance their combat profile. Eldar were quite good at it as compared to their Imperial or Ork counterparts.

Yeah, considering the general trend for most 9th ed codices is some change in stats, I'm surprised they weren't at least bumped to 3-4 wounds to make them less poppable to perils. They don't seem to have ghosthelms still like Farseers do?

It wouldn't bother me but a baseline un-augemented human psyker wearing rag has 3(or 4?) wounds
Pretty sure its the only character in the game that has 2 W. The fact they are psykers so pivital to any eldar army just makes the problem worse. They pretty much an auto take because of the way things are costed and you need to squeeze as much efficiency out of anything. I suppose skyrunners are a thing but I do like my foot locks... Cant have it all I guess but this one sucks.
The model looks really dope though.
Guess will have another warlock added to the collection
Maybe will be able to have an army comprising entirely of warlocks

If they're releasing a box of them so you can easily build a squad, I'm okay with them staying at 2 wounds because I'll just be super happy at getting some new warlock models. I don't hate the metal ones I already have but they are looking pretty old these days.
Good time to be an eldar player.

Yeah the unit size has me thinking it'll be a little sprue (like Necromunda sized) with 3 Warlocks and a bunch of arm and maybe head options (even chest options?).
I mean, I doubt GW is just going to sell a clampack Warlock and expect everyone to buy 6 of them so you have 6 identical models in a unit... right?

Hopefully with compatibility with the existing bike-seer and foot-seer for some hot-swapping of arm postures and helmets, though that isn't quite as useful as the autarch.

I know it's been a thing forever but I'm always disappointed by the poor AP on warlock weapons. It would be nice if they could pump some of that psychic energy into their psychic blades so that they didn't just bounce off armour.

Normally I'd be negative, but with the return of the backwards compatible, multipart customisable Autarch, that's genuinely the most likely possibility.

Yeah. That would be nice. I always wanted them to have some rules reflecting their past warrior aspects. This warlock used to be a dire avenger, this one was a banshee etc. Not sure what form those rules should take, but I thought it would be cool to specialize them in some way so they could be compatible with an aspect squad. I would have liked to have had a warlock that was a former banshee able to move and charge with banshees without slowing them down, for example.

They could do a box of one model, and provide a single torso and two different skirt options, so it only makes one model but appears in two different ways...
