I'm thinking minor changes in moving to plastic. The Banshees generally kept their 4th edition appearance when they moved to plastic. The new rangers don't look radically different from their 4th edition versions either.

Yep and as I noted earlier, GW can put out a new codex and if they then update things like aspect warriors later they don't even need to pair that with a new book or expansion or campaign book because the units are already there. So if Firedragons don't get updated now then GW can release updated ones in 5 months time and just throw them out into the market

TBH I don't expect modern plastics to be in scale with 20 year old models.

Looks like a great kit but I really don't care for the helmets – they look like halloween pumpkin faces. It's not unique to these ones though – the OG Reapers are by far my favourite and everything since has been a bit goofy, head-wise.
The facemask ones look rad.

I don't love the Exarch head, I'd want to replace that with a standard head (even though the mouths on the standard heads look a bit goofy). Everything not bad overall though.

I appreciate GW previewing models that weren't leaked. Revealing those models always run the risk of people complaining "we've already seen model xxx" so its nice to see something completely new. Even if they did preview the autarch from the box set last week...
Love the little grim reaper statue. Eldar death uses an axe and that's rad

I've never liked the winged helmet design. Seems too goofy to me.
What's the deal with the skull shoulder pad on the exarch? Looks like something from 3rd edition dark eldar.

Yes I imagined the smooth face to look better too, that's also what I would do, an infill with fine milliput and a scrape across to smooth it down.

I think he photoshopped them out to illustrate what he plans to do with them.

Overall, I feel that the exarch is spectacular, but not blown away by the regular ones. Another paintjob might change my mind

Fantastic - so glad to see another redo in plastic and with some options for heads and the exarch.
The skull masks are a little goofy but they were on the current ones so not unexpected. Nazrak's solution suggested and mocked up above to just fill in the teeth and nose looks great though - I like that much better and its an easy change.
Was it stated how many weeks these previews for the Eldar stuff were gonna go? I feel like we have to be about done with the new reveals at this point (probably one for the Warlock and Shining Spears and done?)

So happy for plastics but this kit is not great. I might opt for DE Reaver helms with the smooth face plate. Either that or go Ynnari masks and cut off the side wings. Definitely an easy fix though.
What a range refresh, fantastic for us Eldar players.
Having just painted scorps and dragons late last year, selfishly not bothered if they have a little longer wait to update.

Well, this is great news. And I'm not fan of the masks either, but they come with alternate heads and some good ideas for changing the helmets have already been demonstrated. One cool idea might also to make them completely smooth, even the eyes, and paint them shiny. Like the DE jetbiker helmets.

Never minded the fins on the side, all the way back to the RT-era ones.
Skull shoulder reminds me of the old, old Death Jester.
