Yup, is he the record price for a sprue of that size? If not what is?

Probably the single sprues they tried to resell after Indomitus. Yep- 'honored of the chapter' is $150 (vs $100 for Avatar). The necron sprue is 'only' $115.

But hey, the low(er) price for the Avatar makes sense.. they made up for it with the other kits. $60/65 for 5 models or 3 bikes. Bleh.

not really bothered about sprue count, I'm more into quality of model and the Avatar passes the test for me. Thta axe head is going to find it's way onto my Fire Dragon wraithlord for sure. So it comes down to classic sword or spear for my Avatar, not sure which way I'll lean.

I bought 3 shroudrunners from ebay as soon as I saw the boxed set price. Was on the fence but getting them for low fourties instead of mid sixties is easier to swallow.
Did break down and get 2 shining spears boxes though, Eldar is an indulgence of mine. Rangers can jog on though!

I am so glad I got two Eldritch Omens boxes. The idea of having to buy another set of Shroudrunners for that price? Forget it!

Now I'm dreading to check the Japanese price for the new units. (I also noticed that at 03/27 Shroudrunners are missing from the JP store while the rest of the world can buy them)

Oh I just did. The codex by itself is 7,000Y (57$/52€). Wahapedia and Battlescribe it is!

A host of made to order Eldar models are up for grabs next week!

Out of interest does anyone remember what material they were last sold in? Be interesting to know which ones will be metal and which will be finecast.

I imagine the older Farseer was in metal, but I'd guess the rest were Finecast?

Classic Death Jester!

Can these be ordered in from a Warhammer store?

Well, they're a Made to Order run via Mail Order, so I would've thought so.

Not sure I'd be describing the Gen 2 Death Jester as the "classic" Death Jester though - surely that'd be the RT one? This one currently looks like "nuMaugan Ra lite"...

I think the only things you can't get through your local store are Forgeworld*. Otherwise if its on the main GW website you can order it through your local store.

*accepting that a short while back they did put a few fw models on the main GW site for sale.

There were multiple RT Death Jesters. I’ve got 3 different ones am am pretty sure I don’t have them all.

One even has a lascannon.

Seriously, what is up with Maugy these days? He used to be the king of cool with his own pose but now he's gone emo and stealing the previous DJ's look. How the mighty have fallen!

But personally I love that DJ's pose. It works so damn well and a great alternative to the new model, adding just that right amount of variety. It'll stand the test of time for sure!

Does anyone know roughly when these two minis were originally released?

I've got a bunch of old Farseer minis - even this guy - but I don't know when these were released. I really like the second one there, pointing his pistol.

Both of those were released in 2006 during 4th edition.

I was lucky enough to find that Farseer with Shuriken pistol couple of weeks ago at my local store. He is quite a chunky model but fits better with new Warlocks than plastic Farseer because of his size. Plastic Farseer is smaller than Warlocks.

Very interesting to see everything is metal! I think this might be GW doubling down on getting rid of finecast to not even be doing it print-on-demand

Lets hope so, Finecast was horrible!

I'm going to pick up a couple of the Eldar Farseers now that I know they are in metal. The detail on the metal minis of this era is so much better than the current plastic equivalents. I'm thinking of the IG Commissars as well as the Eldar characters, but there are many examples out there.

$32 per character? It's great they're metal, but GW had to find a way to screw it up. No order from me.

The item description tells you the material.

Approx armies
9000pts AdMech (Main army)
7000pts Black Templars (original army)
3500pts Death Guard (lazy side project)
2000pts Imperial Knights (extension of AdMech)

Yep but at the time I posted that they didn't have product pages to tell us.
Plus several appear to have gone back to metal from finecast this time, so the whole "what they were released in last is what they come as" rule is out the window.

Mannn Im really getting old. I keep thinking this is in the batch of most recent released eldar, which pretty much was 4th ed. And here are people calling what I think of as new death jesters as "classic". I get that 4th ed was nearly 18 years ago, but it just doesnt feel like it. So many of the eldar models are so damned old, that a lot of the kids calling this stuff classic are younger than the models themselves.

But I can see why this causes a lot of confusion. I just bowed completely out of 40K in early fifth with a big fat NOPE!, and nothing has been notably been done with them in over a decade and a half. I'd be writing them off too if I was still in 40K. Losing track of whats what, because if GW doesnt care about making money from developing them, why should I bother either?

Just nothing in all of citadel like eldar reminding you how old you are. Not because they are all old, but they are all juuuuuust old enough to remind you that this here grav tank was designed in 2nd ed in the heady days of 1996/7.

Yeah, was not planning to buy anything but that Farseer pointing the Shuriken pistol was too good to pass up. Being metal rather than the atrocious finecast sealed the deal.

It's great model and looks even better on 32mm base than it does on 25mm.

Little irritating that you can’t give farseers staves anymore, but he could serve as a spiritseer if you want to be WYSWYG. That’s how I use mine when I put him in a list.

One of the better seers that they have made IMHO.

Put my Avatar together this morning. It is indeed a beautiful model, smaller than I anticipated, but perfect in execution. I chose the traditional head but opted for spear over sword. Really hope my average painting can do it justice.

How much bigger is the newest model vs the last GW model? Or, can you tell me how tall the figure is? I've been told that there's not really much size difference between the old and new models.

Is it worth $100 plastic wise? Probably not, but I cannot fault the design and will be fielding it as soon as humanly possible.

That certainly explains the moderate (for GW) price. Thanks for the picture, I was interested in that.

Also it looks like the base topper might be similar to the Incarne's in that it was sculpted to neatly fit onto a 60mm base and they ultimately decided to stick the model on an 80mm base instead.
