Dakka does have White Knights and is also rather infamous for it's Black Knights. A new edition brings out the passionate and not all of them are good at expressing themselves in written form. There have been plenty of hysterical responses from both sides so far. So we descend into pointless bickering with neither side listening to each other. So posting here becomes more masturbation than conversation.

Glad they're working on this. Even without my personal 40k bias at the time (huge fanboy), the original was a simple but underrated game with addictive multiplayer.
But the original planned sequel(s) were for Titus to go rogue, and then in the finale, he was going to get his own chapter somehow. Which would have been cool if handled well.

Is it bad that I want Leandros back so he can continue to be wrong, and get called out for the idiot that he was, for another entire game?
Guilliman shows up and is like "yeah, the codex is more of a guideline"

Did you realistically expect otherwise? No sarcasm meant but am genuinely asking. I think that the vast majority of future digital and tabletop offerings will be primaris era unless explicitly Horus Heresy. I'm not saying I completely agree with it (the only primaris models I like are the intercessors and I think the backstory is bad fanfic) but they've been telegraphing the move for years at this point.
This is like winning a lottery when you didn’t even know you had a ticket. I really dug the first game upon release. It was a cracking action game with solid 40K bonafides. And Mark Strong was outstanding, this announcement really made my week. I never expected we’d ever get a sequel.

Subject: Re:Space Marine 2: The Videogame announced
I would have been excited for this like 5 years ago. Carving a path through a seething carpet of gaunts is something that speaks to the button masher in me. But I just cannot abide primaris marines so as it is, pass for me.
Maybe I'll wait until someone mods them to be proper marines then I'll get it.
The graphics look good though and it'll be interesting to see what they've done with Titus' story if nothing else.

Sort of. Only because there was a timeline mapped out for the original game. So instead of taking place 200 years later (based on his face studs), it was going to involve him working with deathwatch, then getting his own chapter. Not ending up back with the ultramarines. I'm not sure when the first game was set, but it does seem like a big jump.
Obviously, the original plan went out the window with the company since they went bankrupt. But it'll be interesting to see if they try to make this game sort of canon, given that Titus and Cato both had the same leadership role in the first game.
That's exciting news! I loved the original campaign and I'm looking forward to seeing the remaining story for Captain Titus of the Ultramarines.
I recall reading at one point the sequel scripts had him working for the Deathwatch then getting his own chapter in the 3rd game. Always sounded great so hopefully we'll get that or something equally as good.
I'll have to replay the first one when this one launches.
I hate primaris, but the armor does look better here than usual. I think it's the extra ornamentation, even studs on the shoulderpad trim. This does bring back some nostalgia though, I enjoyed the first game. Not happy about the change in voice actor, but I did like Clive in Vikings...so i'll give it a chance.
Cool. I really liked the first game, both single player and multiplayer were good but the latter was let down by the lack of dedicated servers and match making system.
Fingers crossed this doesn't suck. Do we know if it's made by the same folks? Relic folded and I have no idea who the new developers are and if they are bringing across some of the same talent.

Lieutenant Titus of the Ultramarines now if the helmet is accurate.
Ultramarine Primaris Lieutenant Titus model when GW?
The original game was very short, this'd better be longer. The bolter pron video did not impress me, as usual.
"The larger point though, is that as players, we have more control over what the game looks and feels like than most of us are willing to use in order to solve our own problems"
It's kind of ironic how much the original game is loved today. Back when it was released it got low ratings across the board and was considered a rip-off due to its high price and short campaign.
7 Ork facts people always get wrong: Ragnar did not win against Thrakka, but suffered two crushing defeats within a few days of each other. A lasgun is powerful enough to sever an ork's appendage or head in a single, well aimed shot. Orks meks have a better understanding of electrics and mechanics than most Tech Priests. Orks actually do not think that purple makes them harder to see. The joke was made canon by Alex Stewart's Caphias Cain books. Gharkull Blackfang did not even come close to killing the emperor. Orks can be corrupted by chaos, but few of them have any interest in what chaos offers. Orks do not have the power of believe.
Well currently it is though that this game takes 200 years after the first game (hinted by Tidus having 2 marks on his face).
And as Tidus has chains on his right arm (like Black Templars) it is thought that he spent 200 years (more or less) on penance crusade with Black Templars to prove that he is not an heretic. And after he came back to Ultramarines he could not take the post of captain as that was already filled so he took the post of an lieutenant.
I really enjoyed the first game, little shocked to see a sequel but very happy. I think what I was most impressed about was the sound design. You thump around like a big meaty bastard and that stalker pattern bolter? Phwoar.
Hey that's a point, it's surely not PS exclusive right?
Because if it is...

Ah see the video I watched from somebody else had all of that but PS, good to know!
I adored the original and this was simply way unexpected.
Now, my fear is that I wasn't expecting DAW III either and that game ended up being the bottom of the dumpster. I really hope this keeps the core of the first one, and doesn't change the gameplay too much.
