I've thought about it a little and I think it's 100% to do with the fact that an actual Nazi played them one time, and that story got picked up, and some people chose to hyperfocus on that singular event, and now that's the paradigm (for a small element in the wider community at least). It's a narrative that some people want to maintain, and that's all.

It's not the masks, there's loads of gasmask troops, there's even masked troops with a Germanic name (the Dream Forge ones, I forget what they're called), but nobody ever proxied Dream Forge as Nazis, so there's no narrative to push. It's not the trench coats, again, there's loads of great coat troops around, and since there's never been a trench coat nazi proxy 'event' to gain traction here there is no narrative to push. It's entirely down to the fact that it happened once with Krieg, and so now that is what some people want Krieg to be.

I remember the same thing in Old Dakka when a guy did it with Jin Roh brigade models, and people got real upset with Jin Roh because of that one event, and for a while anyone with Jin Roh elements in their models were then somehow suspect. I reckon the only reason that's been forgotten is because Jin Roh isn't a thing anymore, but Krieg is, so Krieg gets the label now.

I mean it's also because they're frequently used as idols by the fash in this hobby just like the Black Templars are. It's to do with the sacrifice thing the Krieg have and the fash turn it into part of their fetish. They take blind extreme fanatic loyalty to a horrific regime as something to aspire to and as part of their spiel about being oppressed they all want to die in service of the defence of their homeland.
Does it make sense? No but they're the fash, they're idiots.

I've never seen this done with BT. I've seen it mentioned (here), but I've never seen this sentiment anywhere else. I'd be interested to see it though, if you have a link to some BT controversy.

Honestly, I'd rather not and I genuinely envy that you've never witnessed it. I'm not trying to hide anything I just don't want to:
A - Look for it because *vomit*
B - I don't it's entirely appropriate to link fash memes to this site

everybody don't forget we also have adepticon in two months. They always have a big preview at adepticon. I believe everything they will show at LVO is things that are coming out in the next 2-3 months. Everything leading up to summer will be show at adepticon. At least that is my guess from experience

Eh. If the last two years are any kind of precedent, the 'big previews' will actually be lots of teeny-tiny ones that satisfy nobody.

Efficiency is the highest virtue.

Which is why I keep saying: A GW preview is a regular preview in slow motion.

The preview tomorrow will spend a lot of time showing very little. So will the Adepticon one.

But together, combined, they're a full massive preview!

IIRC I think there were solid rumors a bit back that Kharadron and Fyreslayers would be getting merged into a Duardin Battletome so not surprising given the presumption that Fury in the Deep indicates Kharadron and Idoneth are the next two books.

Khardons are the Squats in 40K, same models, new 40K rules. They escaped being devoured by the Tyranids by escaping into a bubbleverse, now they have returned to reclaim their ancestral homes...and mine Urgold and Essence of the warp.

Maybe we will get lucky and some rats on their ships escape and start their own Skaven Empire in 40K.

It's been floating around for a while ever since Grungni set out to reunite them. I wouldn't trust the rumours as reliable beyond people making correct guesses since they've been wearing this plot thread on their sleeves for a while now and since FS are such an unpopular army the assumption would be getting merged like ogres and orcs.

There was one AoS rumor that all the Duardin factions would be combined into a single book like the Orruk one. Could very well be that they'll reveal that the Fyreslayer tome is actually "Forces of Duardin" or something and has Fyreslayers, Kharadron, and maybe, just maybe, the dispossessed.

edit: Bleh I am just reiterating what others have said. My apologies.

The WarCom team confirmed the Avatar of Khaine will debut at the LVO.

"It’s high time, however, for the old Avatar to hang up his lustrous topknot, and settle into the retirement segment of the infinity circuit. Who will take up his molten mantle and step into his fiery shoes? You’ll have to join the Warhammer Preview Online at the Las Vegas Open to find out..."

I get eldar are well overdue a release and have a big release wave, but if every preview between now and the new book is just more eldar, it'll be a bit dull. Hoping they'll show off more of that chaos knight maybe.

My big fear is that they'll do a "one model per category" like in the past.

Which would be a shame, since 1) we know an avatar is coming, 2) we've had a leaked image, and 3) they pretty much showed off what it will look like in the video today.

Nazi undertones or not, I'm painting my DKoK in Finnish WW2 infantry colours (drab grey uniforms with dark wehrmacht helmets). You cannot stop me, and I'm not ever going to be playing with them in anything other than private games, so I dont really care if I cannot enter tourneys just because people don't know my country's military history.

About this friday... is it time for BEAKIES!!??!1111

Elf of some kind from the looks of it?

Might be Kurnothi, finally...

Okay, strike what I said about the Kurnothi...that isn't the Avatar of Khaine on the right hand side of the teaser image!
I have no idea what anything is outside of the Nighthaunt in the center. We did see a tease of a new Daughters of Khaine model in the New Year teaser video. Maybe we're going to see some kind of shakeup in the Cities of Sigmar again?

New Nighthaunt in the middle. Same as the one from the new year teaser. The guy reading a book.

On the left could be a stormcast. The new underworld team had a lightning card, so it could be for that.

Corsair for KT ? Nighthaunt -Avatar [with variant head!].

The one on the left could be sylvaneth/kurnothi but they generally do 3 different systems so I'm guessing KT corsair.

Honestly, I'm starting to think it will only be a one model per gamesystem reveal. This is the second time they teased the Avatar for Eldar.

Hopefully they'll do more than just show off one model from the kill team though. I can't imagine they'd hold it off since the release is supposed to be next month, though GW is known for dragging out a reveal

I thought so too initially, but I don't see any sign of the headfins? Note also that the 'crest' is closer to the head of whatever it is.

No mention of the Corsairs have had hawks involved. Nor does their wargear mentions.

These little "teaser shots" that they do are not consistent with what is or isn't teased.
