Subject: Tyranid Codex rumours (first three full datasheets pg23)
Oh. Well. I was thinking we'd have to wait longer. The AoS stuff too. I guess they're trying to clear the decks for the big stuff over the summer? (Ash and Heresy) I expect two-week preorders for both of those.
Efficiency is the highest virtue.

I don't think there's anything missing (other than Crusade rules ).
Wahapedia is fully updated with the new Nid codex, including the Crusade rules.
Meanwhile they still haven't updated the Aeldari with the codex that has actually been released.

Makes sense to me. Wahapedia is run from Russia, right? There's a lot of things happening in that area of the world that might make it difficult/impossible to get an Aeldari codex. However, the Tyranid codex was leaked in full, so can be attained for free with only an internet connection.
I thought wahapedia was run from Russia as well, but based on what I have seen elsewhere it seems as though maybe only the site is hosted in Russia (it was originally hosted somewhere else and later moved to the .ru domain) and most of the admin work is done from somewhere else in Europe.

Ah yes, not aimed at you NAVARRO at all, just a topical post. They get a new book, it looks to be meta-defining/topping, people bum rush out to bandwagon, it'll get nerfed, they'll moan at their army being rubbish/wasted money, next book will come out and their kits will sell out. Then we'll have a tirade from likely the same people asking why they keep going back to codex creep.
The player base sadly enables their behaviour a little on this one.

The GW website and warehouse system generates a unique code for every complete model, which includes model, bases, paper content and box. Whenever one part of those elements changes it requires a new code for the warehouse as part of the inventory changes. So whenever GW updates the leaflet inside and/or the box design, the website sees it as the old design going "off sale" and a new product being added. So you get a selection of products that run "sold out online" as GW runs down the original stock; before they are later updated with new stock as the new design is put on sale.
So all the customer might see is new box art in the end, but the software sees it as totally new.
The rest running out of stock is just your standard hype as people buy Tyranids in excess of normal demand due to the new book

Yes and thank you for the detailed explanation, I dont work in a warehouse or are concerned with stock/product changes and procedures. So Im pretty ignorant there.
But to me as a simple client, say fan of nids wanting to flesh a nid army with the hype of a new codex I would not expect not be able to buy so many units.
Specially since theres only one new model released, I mean apart from that people are actually forced to dwell into the old models.
All this Tyranid release is been underwhelming but hey at least have things in stock or available to buy. A couple units out of stock sure its ok but so many? They had 8 years at least not counting the 20 years models there to build a good stock

Happens with just about every army really.
I think GW has a relatively small amount of stock at any time - so if there's a relatively minor move to buy, they run out more or less instantly.
You'd think they'd prepare - and maybe they do. But still seems to happen.

So for anyone who has received their new Tyranid minis, a word to the wise with the Parasite: Put the little arms on first before you put the wings on. It's the opposite of what the instructions say, but it'll make life easier.
And behold, after nearly a decade of waiting, Tyranids finally got a new miniature. A tiny, tiny miniature:
Not enough to bring the Tyranid enthusiasm back on the table... in fact even the model they went for in detriment of things in desperate need of modern models, like the iconic Lictor is quite frustrating.
Dices a bit horrible too.
All in all nothing worth to write home about, it was bland, boring and forgotten about in less than one week.
As for scale seems ok and in fact I welcome smaller gaunt models and a general reduction in size of the silly larger creatures.
Honestly I'm actually happy for a more modest model. The problem with big stuff is whilst it looks impressive you quickly reach a point of "how the heck do I actually get these to the shop"
Tyranids have a LOT of big models right now and big models look impressive, but they full up bag space (even if you use magnetic racks) really quickly.
