Unless multiple companies are mass producing dinosaurs for...lol!reasons, I'm baffled at the idea that dinosaurs are somehow an 'extinction event' for humans.
Even if they are, being mass produced, its hard to swallow.
The characters have barely aged, so huge pops of dinosaurs just aren't feasible, and guns and missiles exist.
They aren't old D&D dragons with immunity to non-magical weapons.
"I always come back" So... Chris Pratt dies at the end?

{Shrugs} I've definitely watched movies with worse premises/logic.....
The trailer looks good, but so did the one for the previous movie and that movie was AWFUL! I do like the idea of getting the original gang back together (Sam Neill, Jeff Goldblum, Laura Dern), so I might give this a watch.
My armies (re-counted and updated on 11/7/24, including modeled wargear options):

The Grotsnik Corp Bump Feelerer 9,000. It only looks like several bricks crudely gaffer taped to a cricket bat.

Given that dinos were ectothermic, I'm interested to know how they can run around in ice and snow...
Some dinosaurs could live in cold regions but slowed down their metabolisms to do so, so I guess it's not totally unbelievable but not sure they would be able to run around like they are in the trailer.
But it is only a movie, and it does look pretty cool, but the last Jurassic World movies have been pretty poor....
Because, as has been pointed out in just about every jurasic park movie, they are not actually dinosaurs.
Their DNA has gaps that were filled in with other animals from the get go. By the time of Jurassic World they are being purpose built to do what ever the hell.
These are my opinions. This is how I feel. Others may feel differently. This needs to be stated for some reason.
Dramatic peril, hints of the original theme, the old cast, seeping music as the camera swoops over herds of dinosaurs.... they know how to sell it.....
...but the last movie was bad. Mankind can kill dinosaurs quicker than they can breed so the 'threat' of being wiped out by them is a bit thin.
Still... I'll probably of and see it, so mission accomplished, I guess.
I actually rewatched them both recently, and am working my way thru the Camp Cretaceous series. They’re definitely stupid, but not stupid enough I can’t be entertained by them. I’m really curious to see what they do with this one. They call it a conclusion so maybe we finally see if Wu has an actual endgame or if he’s just been winging it up as he goes along.
Yeah, the only way I can see dinosaurs being a threat to humanity is if they go with a Dawn of the Planet of the Apes style plot where they also unleash a pandemic that disables most of the world’s population…
I’m curious to see this, although the last film was not good (such a shame, because World was great).

Dinosaurs are considered to be very likely endotherm, not ectotherm.
There was an earlier comment about how "guns and missiles exist", but you have to remember, in the Jurassic Park franchise:
Dino's are simply immune to guns.
This is something I always noticed in the original three (only saw the "world" movies once, so I'm not as sure there). Although people can bring guns and even USE guns on occasion, dinos simply don't take any damage from guns.
At first, when I was younger, this really upset me. It makes no logical sense really. Something like an M60 machine gun would bring down a T-rex so fast you would feel bad for the poor dino, to say nothing of what heavier ordinance would do.
These days? I'm kinda into it. It gives the whole franchise even more of a bizarre twist on our world. See, in our world: guns rock. They are simply great tools at killing... well, pretty much anything. In the Jurassic franchise? Nope! Dinos are immune to guns. Deal with it, humans.
Obviously, this is more of a screenwriting conceit than anything explained in-universe, but it is still, seemingly something of a rule.
(wait, wasn't there some bit in the latest one where a dino gets a single bullet wound? Ah, screenwriting conceits! The only thing stronger is ANOTHER screenwriting conceit! )
Raptors aren’t immune to guns, they’re just so fast you never hit them. When the one gets shot it’s because it wasn’t moving. Now your big Dino’s, Those are immune to guns.
I liked World 2 for its accurate depiction of a socopathic CEO who sees murder as an objectively good act if it improves the company's profits.
Automatically Appended Next Post: Ugh, having watched the trailer, it's pretty clearly an algorithm-generated collage of disjointed action scenes and callbacks with no actual plot, like most of hollywood the past 10 years.

Just like tigers (or wolves. Maybe cheetahs?) and elephants, right? The former are too fast for guns, and the latter too big?

For the big dinos, anything less than a .50 caliber is worthless.
Point in fact: People bring their .44 magnums while fishing/hunting in the woods for bear protection...as a loud noise maker to scare the bear, not to shoot AT the bear, as a .44 round is going to have issues penetrating it's hide, not the mention the smaller calibers is likely to piss it off.
You have to consider that the big dinos, with its thick skin/muscles you'd need an A-10 gattling to reliably bring one down.

Not sure how accurate it is (pun intended) but seems to cover alot of Dino vs Guns in the real world but as others have said - its not our world
I AM A MARINE PLAYER

"I will admit that some Primachs like Russ or Horus could have a chance against an unarmed 12 year old novice but, a full Battle Sister??!! One to one? In close combat? Perhaps three Primarchs fighting together... but just one Primarch?" da001

Seems about right. Any round that can penetrate 1/4" armor steel will punch holes in any non-armored dinosaur easily enough.
Now the question the article does not address is, can the bullet reach something vital under ordinary circumstances. It mentions one round going through 20" of ballistics gel. Is a dinosaur's heart, lungs, liver, kidneys, or brain more than 20" from the skin? Then that round isn't going to reach that organ and it's not going to kill the dinosaur quickly. You'd need to place the shot very carefully to hit vulnerable spots.
But is this really all that different from what hunters do worldwide? American deer hunters often prefer heart shots, to preserve the head as a trophy. The article mentions killing elephants with a pretty small round, IF the shot is precisely placed. Put dinosaurs out there to be hunted and you won't need military forces to deal with most of them. Sport hunters will LEAP at the opportunity, and it won't take them terribly long to figure out where various dino species are vulnerable.
But then, the Jurrassic Park world is inhabited by 'elite' mercenary and military teams that would not only fail in a tiger hunt, they'd be feeding the tiger very well in their failure, so... yeah, not our world at all.

Bear hide is shockingly thick.
Because all bears love getting down with the thickness
Probably gonna watch this movie due to nostalgia, that and dinosaurs making red stains of people
