If by "a lot of little things" you actually meant, 1 Chaos Spawn model with lots of gribblies, then yes it's a lot of little things.

Thanks Voss!

I'm seeing what appears to be: Possessed, the Mutant/Possessed Cultists, the Cultist Character (?). And Legionaries are 2W. Leadership buffed to 8 for Legionaries, 9 for Aspiring Champion. Attacks: 2. So, if we lose Hateful Assault (which is expected), we'll still be behind primaris.

Mmmm. I guess you could assume the wings, the eye and the back spouting spines and blood are from the same model (though the last seems incompatible with the first to me)
But the star icon, skull icon, the power armor hand holding an (ultramarine helmet?), and the spiked pauldron & head really don't mesh with that.

It'll be a disappointing preview they said...

But honestly? This preview had me at Ash Nomads on giant bugs. The Chaos Knights are every bit as hot. And while I would have loved to see the Heresy box, the trailer kicked a$$ and we did at least get to see two models.

So allow me to take your predictions of disappointment and feed them to my beerboar.

It was better than I expected. Well. The 40k and related properties were better than I expected.

The ancillary fantasy properties were exactly as expected (one team/warband)

AoS was... anyway, it still exists.

The lead-in for HH was amazing. The complete lack of substance was not.

The lack of dates was annoying, but at least we got a implied codex order for the next 4 things (Nids, knight-knights and Chaos marines)

Mostly Ash Wastes picked up my good will and carried it until AoS crashed out and Heresy quietly left the room while Horus chewed the scenery (amidst a lovingly crafted battle montage, admittedly).

Versteckt in den Schatten deines Geistes.

That wasn't a gak preview!

It was still quite limited, and certainly was "Part 3" of the big reveal that has been running in slow motion since the start of the year, and as always was mostly stuff we already knew about, but there were some generally nice reveals in there, including the completely out-of-left-field AoS terrain box. I need that Megadrath skeleton quick smart. Rest of the box I can live without.

And I'll be taking a deeper look at that Ash Waste terrain soon, but first glance tells me that there are two terrain sprues, and you get 3 of one and 2 of the other. Need to take a second look soon.

Horus Heresy looks... fine. We know what it is already, and have done for fething ages, even if GW still wants to keep its head firmly in the sand and pretend we haven't. Turns out my prediction was somewhere in the middle of "Horus Heresy box" and "Praetor".

Norse team looks rad. Ferryman looks overdesigned like most Nighthaunt things (and did they need another fething special character?). Chaos Knights look cool; especially love the giant tusks on the face mask. As mentioned earlier, the FrankenUndead are really dull (leader is cool), and I don't know why they bothered given that they're just Zombies that fell into an AdMech player's bitz box. And the HH animation was cool. I like Titans, so seeing them in action is always fun. And now we know who wins in a Titan vs Lance fight. It's not the Titan.

And a Chaos tease. Hope the wing is a new Daemon Prince mini. I need something to attach the new Avatar's Wailing Doom to to make my own Daemon Prince character.

As they should be. Primaris are literally "Better Marines".

I'd dislike it very much if Chaos Marines shifted into being Evil Primaris Marines overnight with no warning because of a stat change. Chaos Marines are still First Borns. Have pride in that.

Not behind enough, unfortunately, but alas, that's what you get with current incompetent rule writers who never actually read the fluff of the game they are working on and are stuck in 'make next book even more broken' mode

Because Chaos are eeeevil and different. Harlies are knife-eared pieces of gak like craftworld, making the new asuryani.

In reality it's nothing that can't be handled with one page on switching keywords, having one House rule for each of the Gods, and a couple more rogue houses. Not sharing weapons and the generic relics is pure silliness.

I like how all the Warlords had the Lucius Alpha head, which FW no longer sells, and doesnt exist for the Titanicus scale kit :(

Not terribly far behind. In terms of shooting they'll be the same as Tactical level vs Intercessors, BUT melee loadout might pack a punch depending on the reveals.

That said I'm choosing not to expect much. Assuming the leaks are true at least Red Corsairs might not suck.

Ooh! That's quite alot of stuff to wake up to. That ash waste terrain looks fierce af and shall be added to the collection, no reason it couldn't work as 40K / KT21 terrain as well

And with the NUBEAKIES! finally announced, the countdown timer towards new Mk VI kit sprues has been set. June-July has been rumoured as a probable launch window, so I'll have ample time to get my finances in order. Sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet!

Can't wait for morning to come so I can watch that new HH trailer with sound!

It's cool. I feel better now. I went and listened to some Angelcorpse at MAXIMUM VOLUME, and did some math. Mark those boys Nurgle, Khorne, or Slaanesh, and take the corresponding Icon, and they'll kick the out of Cawl's toysoldiers in a fight. Can't wait to try it out.

Well, that trailer was aight! Horus's face looked hella realistic, quality CGI although I didn't like the mapping on the beakie armours..

Two screenshots from the trailer - are we getting new heads and possibly a beakie option for the Plastic Praetor? That Praetor helmet matches the leaked rulebook illustration, the hatches on the top of the beak looking hot af <3

Second picture looks like the previewed Praetor with an alternate head (same backpack decoration, shoulder pad, and axe looks like). Which would be good, because the other head is awful.

Those giant fleas are indeed awesome. How come Chaos cultists never get cool stuff like that?

Do I want the Norse set just for the beer piggie? Yes, yes I absolutely do.

The HH trailer was very cool, I'm not going to buy any but still looked awesome.

Everything else sort of interesting, I liked the ferryman model. Those ghosty folks are quite neato.

Main thing is Necromunda though. The terrain is very nice.

Yeah the ash wastes looks great- love the nomads and the fleas are fantastic. I did think for a second was there was squat quad bikes.. but alas not!
Beer Pigs are epic!
Even though not a fan of the heresy, the trailer was really good.
Looks like chaos is going to get a serious about of love and the knights look good.
From not having any particular interest in the factions released I thought it was great preview- those releases should take us up to September?
Plus I'd bet there will be a killteam release as well.

I feel like the Exiled Dead is another warband like the Pirate Ogre one that missed the mark by only having the one mini that's actually on brand for the team.

Stitched together Frankenstein-style flesh constructs sounds really cool, but there's only one of them, and the rest are just regular zombies, but with tesla coils, except for one of them who doesn't even have that, and then theres a budget bin version of the Cursed City skeletons thrown in too.

If it wasn't for the Ash Waste box set, this would be a very dull 'big reveal'.

Still baffled that they think showing 2 of the new HH models is enough, we've already seen the rules and box set, just show the damn thing already. Stop with this pretence.

The previews were awesome and I am super excited for Chaos Knights and Horus Heresy.

I think the only disappointment for me was the AoS reveal.

Yeah big miss there for the exiled dead.
The potential was there for a fantastic Frankenstein-esque warband. But the sculpts are all just not quite there. Aside from a funky gem and a mini-sort of tesla coil, there's nothing that screams mad scientist about the... mad scientist. Not to mention there's only one stitched together minion. Like.... where's the flavour?

Still, nice models over all. The leader will make for a nice necromancer with a few alterations. And more zombie fodder is always good.

Wow a preview that actually delivered for once. As a 40k player anyway, I imagine the AoS people might be less happy with just 1 dude and some terrain?

Ash Nomads look cool, bugs are awesome. Knights looked good tho I will echo 2 books feels a little weird when they would fit well in 1 book like Harlequins, despite being on opposite sides.
Hope they are really different in this case and not 50% the same stratagems with slightly different flavor text.

I think IK players would be allowed to be a bit disappointed, given they're apparently not getting anything new this release bar a book - especially when Chaos get all bar 2 of their units (Knight Perceptor & Canis Rex), with more flexibility on how to combine the arms, and get two new kits this time around...

These previews are always marmite, as it depends what one is interested in, but damn that was pretty good!

I like the giant-cricket riding fremen in Ash Wastes. Would really like them for Stargrave and 5 Parsecs...

Blood Bowl isn't something I keep up with but the new viking team looks good all the same.

Harrowdeep has a good offering but zombies aren't my cup of tea, outside of Resident Evil 2.

Chaos Knights look awesome, but disappointed that there isn't much improvement on the Combat Patrol side of things which also goes for Imperial Knights. Its still limited to Armigers with very little in the way of options. The launch box looks mighty appealling!

The Horus Heresy isn't something that I've looked at beyond "Warmaster" in an ancient issue of White Dwarf, and Adeptus Titanicus. But its nice to see the swanky FW model range is finally getting an actual game to go with it!

Chaos returns! Okay, 2 wounds is something to be excited about and I've got all these left over models from Blackstone Fortress, but I might just leave them as they are...

Age of Sigmar. Holy smokes! A new Nighthaunt character and a Nighthaunty-looky-likey monster? New rules for making our own heroes? Sigh...is it once again too much to ask for solo-play rules to go with the land of beasts, where they would shine best? But no matter, this all looks very cool all the same.

More to come in the next few days? Dunno, but its been a blast today at least.

Casual gaming, mostly solo-coop these days.
