On the schedule picture, the rightmost banner of the left set is a generic Chaos star as used by Slaves to Darkness. Being generic, it might just as easily be something else Chaos. But I'd say AoS Chaos as a planned reveal is at least a reasonable guess since we have a Chaos Marine helmet on another banner to indicate what's on the 40k side for Chaos.

It wasn't Slaves to Darkness. Roadmap they just posted has that dropping in the winter.

Yeah, it wasn't. I'm just saying until GW confirmed that, the aforementioned banner could have reasonably been guessed to belong to any AoS Chaos faction. We can now rule out Slaves to Darkness for sure.

Erm, no. The chaos factions all have unique sigils for a few editions now, GW just didn't bother explaining them clearly. There is no 'generic' one anymore. Look at KT and 40K side, another distinct sigil of chaos faction, if people don't recognize it, it's bound to be something new. All the banners are pretty specific what they announce, it would make no sense for GW to make an exception for one out of three new chaos factions.

A good thing about Slaves to Darkness being so far away means the leak probably hasn’t ruined a chunk of the Warhammerfest reveals.

Yeah, as much as spoilers are nice and keep us interested.
I do hate it when like days before an event reveal everything is up

And then people blame GW for only showing stuff "we already saw" when it was leaked a couple days early.

I mean last year a lot of what we saw was announced months ahead.

Yes I can't say I'm a fan of these massive leaks when whole books go up well before they are released. Bits and pieces, descriptions and the odd photo are all very well but spoiling the books/releases well ahead of their actual release is a bit rubbish.

To be fair so many things were delayed/messed up last year. Heck the fact that the Slaves to Darkness is being spoilt now and yet its a winter release suggests that we are still well within a messed up release timeline.

I heavily doubt they would show off a large amount of the AoS Chaos relases, given how the Battletome is only scheduled for release in half a year

Dunno. Fs & idk box came in correct month. And books are done well in advance. Somebody likely is sitting atm with Some of the 2023 battletomes at hand.

Warcry should be up for 3 year rotation in the new version cycle, if I have my timeframes right.

A new Warcry edition feels like it would shore up the second half of the year like Kill-Team did last time. I doubt they much, if anything, getting in the way of the new 30k edition for the foreseeable months.

My guess is a supplement book and maybe a new team and/or boxset.

There was also a rumour which says that GW will stretch their Edition life time again cause they no longer can come up with "a new edition every three years" rhythm.

Fine by me, They can stretch it twice as long as far as I am concerned. The game is largely just peachy as it is right now. I barely got to play it at all since getting it late 2019. After 13 books bought and not used, I am not eager to start that cycle again.

If you look at the terms and conditions of the competition to win everything announced at Warhammer Fest 2022, it states prize is valued at £1340.

For context, Warhammer Community's article on said competition:

https://www.warhammer-community.com/2022/05/02/warhammer-fest-online-is-this-week-heres-how-to-win-everything-thats-announced/

Short version, one newsletter subscriber is picked to win what's revealed at Warhammer Fest, and no doubt some territories with anti gambling laws are excluded.

I’m kind of skeptical a new edition of Warcry will be announced, pretty sure it will just be the Horns of Hashut (which may or may not be in a new big boxed set).

I don’t really have any source on it, but one thing I have noticed that is unique about Warcry compared to other GW rule sets is that among the people I meet/speak to who actually play it none of them really complain about the rules or really want a new edition. Sure there are those who don’t really like the game, but the fan base as a whole looks to be pretty happy with the ruleset. There also isn’t a strong desire to keep the game balanced for high level tournaments. If that’s the case, why change the rules when it’s a lot easier to just keep producing expansions for it?

I'm still of the mind that slaves to darkness wasn't intended to be revealed at warhammer fest. Why would it be? We know for a fact it's a winter release, and it's just now May. It'll 100% be a Warhammer fest reveal now, but I think whatever sylvanneth/skaven reveal they show will be everything they originally wanted to reveal.

Based on WHC previews, I'd expect DoK to be first, but I wouldn't rule out a joint release.

I hope we get new plague monk models. I was thinking of starting a small Pestilens force, but I don't like the current, outdated models.

Clanrat and Plague Monk reboxed art has already been leaked and seen and its the same current models.

Honestly Skaven has a lot more stuff that needs updating other than plague monks

Like all their weapon teams, so, Warp-Grinder, Jezzails, Ratling Guns, Warpfires and such. And the Ogres. A few of their heroes.

GW please

There's two, both replacing the "Warhammer" icons from the initial bit.
Spoiler:

The one on the right matches the Eshin from Nethermaze's symbol too:

We aren’t, but I’m with you as much as I’ve been disagreed with for that opinion. Yes, Skaven have lots of finecast that needs doing, but Plague Monks would be a priority for me. They’re awful and actually older than some of the finecast stuff, and they’re a core(ish) unit. I wish GW would do more to keep core units up to date, because they’re what you’re gonna have a lot of in the army. Although they’re a bit better than they have been now, and that does come along with price rises so, every silver lining and all that.

It'd be nice, but I fear a Tyranid style update. One model and a lot of leftover gak that should've been replaced.
