Shame on you for thinking people should be allowed to enjoy their hobbies.

If this is how you enjoy the hobby, unironically, a level of shame on you.

Why is having a narrative spoiled any different to something else being spoiled. The same feeling and context applies, it doesn't natter what I'm excited it for, if someone spoils it then it won't be as good/bad.

Again, they're miniatures, and these leaks are no different to any other leak we've had across time. Getting mad about it is nonsensical. It's almost insane.

And from Dakka's king of "Don't care, got mine!" as well. Amazing stuff.

Because there isn't any 'twist' or development here. You aren't watching a story or anything - you're just being shown pictures of unchanging plastic or resin. The same context and feeling do not apply.

There is a level of CONSOOMER brain I cannot understand. Literal worship of capital as like, idols.

But what is EVEN funnier, in my mind, is that people are going onto the NEWS AND RUMOURS section - and complaining about leaks and rumours.

B-but it's just worthless toys for children!

That's the universal response everytime anyone gets upset about the state of the hobby, now innit?

I think it depends on if the leak constitutes the whole reveal or not. It sounds like it’ll be a larger reveal, so one model shouldn’t ruin it

Took the words out of my mouth.

I refuse to believe certain posters are not GW employees at this point.

Although what are the odds it wasn't GW themselves who posted cropped, HD images from the inevitable Community articles in order to drum it last minute hype/clicks?

Because you're not seeing the thing as it is intended to be revealed. You get a small snippit and then all the negative comments that go along with it and it really sours the eventual actual reveal for that person. And we'll probably see people complaining about the lack of reveals ( already happening before it happens ), because they've been spoiled.

I don't particularly care about all this, but I can see why it would be frustrating to someone else. Certainly this is likely the wrong place to come to avoid spoilers though.

One is information the other is entertainment.

And yes some people enjoy the reveals and the experience of the "pre release event". Heck some enjoy it so much they pay money to go to pre-release events themselves.

Not everything has to be spoilt in advance. This isn't the dark Kirby days when we went months without much if any news on anything

"I'm excited to see what happens in Avatar 2 and discuss it with my friends after" - Someone puts the plot on line "Oh that's taken the shine off, guess I won't bother watching"

"I'm excited to see what they reveal in the 40k stream an interact with the streamers and other viewers" - Someone leaks it online "Oh that's taken the shine off, guess I won't bother watching"]

How are those different?

But you continue being the edgelord in the corner judging 'CONSOOMERS'.

You're not seeing it with text telling you buy it or some bad video showing it off on a turntable, and worse, you're exposed to posts you can choose to ignore.

As if GW's shillstreamers ever interact with their viewers, OR have anything interesting to say.

If the highlight of your day is interacting with a stream telling you to buy things ... god help you. That level of consumption mindset is simply too great.

And that's part of what kills it. Inevitably, it's going to be the same five or six people whining in here that "YAWN PREVIEWS BORING" while setting out to find every single leaked item via Discord, 4chan, Reddit, Facebook, whatever.

I don't particularly care about all this, but I can see why it would be frustrating to someone else.
Certainly this is likely the wrong place to come to avoid spoilers though.

Or people could use the fething spoiler tags.

It ain't hard.

I don't necessarily disagree, but of the two I would choose someone telling me to buy a model rather than relentless negativity.

Haha. I get it, but I recommend exercising self control.

There will be spoilers on Dakka and if you know that these spoilers will sour your excitement for the live Warhammer Fest reveals... stay off of Dakka until after GW is finished with their thing.

It's literally that simple.

You know what else is simple?

Spoiler tags. There's literally a button you can press when doing a non-quick reply that makes it work.

Yes, I agree, but you cannot always count on people using them. Wasn't that the point?

You can however always count on yourself. See where I'm going with this? Do something that is within your control rather than strong-arm others to accommodate you.

Spoilers not using the Spoilers tag? The thread is also not marked "Leaked Images". Were you born yesterday?

I agree that spoiler tags should be common courtesy, but this forums software is so old that people are using to using spoilers to do handle massive quote blocks rather than for actual spoilers.

Why do you feel a need to mock people for their enjoyment of a hobby - specifically on a site dedicated to the enjoyment and social interaction of people engaged with that hobby?
