Might be a UK thing, definitely not true for the US. I subbed to the 40K app Day 1 and mine is still clocking to the Warhammer+ sub(3 Months, 20 days).

Article is not specific about any exclusions:
Already a Warhammer 40,000 app subscriber? As a way of saying thanks, if you upgrade your subscription into a Warhammer+ sub in the first month after its launch, you’ll get your exclusive free model after nine months, rather than 12. That’s three months earlier than everyone else!

Even better, as an existing Warhammer 40,000 app subscriber, if you take out a full year’s subscription, you’ll receive an additional free gift too.

The article is here (and aged like milk): https://www.warhammer-community.com/2021/06/23/warhammer-is-unmissable-heres-everything-you-need-to-know/

I'd suggest contacting customer support for clarification.

I started WFB too early. Pestilens vs lizards(I hesitate to call it skaven vs lizards) was a late addition that seemed to come out of nowhere and go nowhere (until End TImes dropped rocks on everything)

Thanks to that boxed set (4th? 5th?), Brets vs lizards have more of a rut in my mind, but then lizards were consistently the faction that was too far away and too insular to care about. Dark elves would at least show up and bother people.

The mortal free cities thing seems.. odd? Like why go make a deal of that when you've got The Old World on the far horizon. Unless it's a bit of a teaser and preview for stuff that might end up being linked to that of course...

Maybe they grew bored with The Old World and wanted to start a new long running preview for which they won't post updates?

Quoth the article:

We’ve even managed to procure a sneaky peek at some of the early miniature renders that the studio is working on right now.

We know how long it took to get Sisters of Battle released, so it looks like GW wants to run a preview series much like it for the next year and a half. Why make a deal of it? To be serious for a change, with how AoS has narrative arcs that run through its editions, and Dawnbringer Crusades having been established as a thing at the beginning of 3rd ed, I could see the desire to be able to write about it properly and without holding back in the second half of the edition. Showing off designs in advance lets them write without worrying about spoilers, previews and announcements through the backdoor. It will be revealed as part of the marketing campaign instead, just ahead of campaign books and the like. That's my guess anyway.

Nope, in fact the war between rats and lizzies come from the army books of the 90s. It's the 2 craziest, most absurd and most original of warhammer armies hiting each others just for IASIP reasons, you either hate it or love it

Right, like I said, late addition.

Truthfully, I'm indifferent to it. The little conflict narratives in the old army books weren't worth much beyond a casual once-over. Especially if it was in one of the lizard books, because I heavily resented the retcons to the Slann (the degenerate descendants of the old ones, not some sleepy servants of a greater power) and ignored them.

Eshin is finally getting some love. I'll definitely get the warband from nethermaze and the death master. Very pleased to see they didn't AOS-ify an already working concept either.

The vampire character is also great.

Yknow it ovcurred to me just now that this is the first one of these previews in a long time where we did not get a preview of some sort of 2 player battlebox for either 40k or AoS. Every other preview I can think of they announced a box for at least one of the two games if not both

The elf bug riders are absolutely boring and super static sculpts. Absolutely zero sense of movement.

The fairie archer elves are pretty cool looking.

I will now be able to make nice minotaurs by splicing together the minotaur and ogroid kit! Who am I kidding. I could buy a whole big box board game for the cost of both of those kits. I'll continue to admire from afar and spend my coin elsewhere.

Cancel that, the faerie elf archers actually are just being carried by beetles it looks like. Not as cool as I thought, but very creative concept.

I'm kinda hyped for tomorrow since they actually mentioned something coming for Middle-Earth. Maybe it's just that there's finally a release date for Defense of the North (been waiting for that for a year or so now!).

My armies (re-counted and updated on 11/7/24, including modeled wargear options):
Dark Angels: ~16000 Astra Militarum: ~1200 | Imperial Knights: ~2300 | Leagues of Votann: ~1300 | Tyranids: ~3400 | Stormcast Eternals: ~5000 | Kruleboyz: ~3500 | Lumineth Realm-Lords: ~700

Honestly, these cultists, the more i look at them, the more they irk me, like cultists are humans, why are they all bare midriffs and 0 armor?
they are chaotic, not stupid, they know of the value of armor, unless they are slaanesh and even there arguably they should still know.

They are also too flashy in their poses so that repeats for a unit that you want to repeat will stand out severly....

Hopefully the traitor guardsmen (if true) come out better and with good equipment options.

god i miss the vraksian militia look.

Not much of a fan of any of the Chaos stuff save the DP, to be honest. The cultists look horrible to me, and the more there are the worse they'll look. And the possessed... well, same deal, but even moreso. The moment you want more than 5, they will stand out like a sore thumb with those expansive poses. They do look cool, though.

I'm increasingly worried that the cultists will be as mono-pose as the Dark Vengeance ones, but with fewer (no) options outside of the basic pistol and CCW.

Which is a misnomer, considering the most dangerous cults for the Imperium have been always portrayed as organised if not outright paramilitary in nature.
Cue, Bloodpact, cue sons of sek, cue carnibales, nvm Stigmartus. etc.
They are also clearly organised enough to have uniforms.

indeed, GSC, which basically leans heavy into the whole mining aspect, manages to have clean, functional weaponry and not just a stick with nails as melee weapon AND has uniforms, which are damn important for verifying if someone is from said cult.

And for the whole fanatical aspect: Bloodpact face masks, sons of sek paramilitary forces, hell even vraksian enforcers / militia men look more than fanatical and yet practical enough...
These on the other hand look like a bunch stupid morons, they are and pose no danger, beyond themselves. They are barely 1 step above orks organisational wise, probably even under certain ork clans like Blood axes and goffs.
Meanwhile most cults even IRL are highly organised. Indeed fanaticism is BETTER represented through organisation, loyality and uniformity to the point of the dismissial of ones individuality rather than a bunch of metal facemasks (which btw look cool) but no baseline uniform / basically bare chests.

I don't think gw will scratch the Autogun cultists. Since vraks the agripina pattern autogun has been pretty much a giveaway for cult forces and the "evil Guys" regardless if GSC or Vraks / traitor guard / Cultists.

What i do fear though is that the monopose on these.... bunch of masked but half -naked carnival partakers , are so monopose that we will get another desaster kit like the new orkboys.

Mate. I'm a Seraphon player. Specifically for AoS we've had.... Kroak.

In the past 13 years we've had Kroak...and an Underworlds Warband.

I feel the pain. I do.

I'm in the same boat. Luckily I kinda like several of the current Seraphon big models, but stuff like krox, sallies, and saurus are in *desperate* need of new kits.

Yeah I really don't like those as generic cultists -- they rubbed me a little wrong as a bit too AoS / Slaanesh looking.

It's really troubling that they didn't come out with a new Guardsman kit instead of just adding a sprue. Honestly the Kriegsmen (and blackstone fortress guys if you can still find them) will make better cultists than any other kit.

Eh, it's the Mk.VI wave. Look at it from the other side. You like Mk.VI, you finally get models in plastic, and then GW goes and makes accessory models to your new, shiny beakies in a different mark. That wouldn't be a very fun experience for fans of Mk.VI.

At the end of the day they're Marines. There will be more before too long because GW can't resist the lure of profit. You're probably just (a little) screwed if you like Mk:III (like me) or Mk.IV since there's every reason to believe that they won't get remade in a long time, if at all.
