I ordered two.

I take it you're turning them into Arbite vehicles?

Don't Forge World Warhammer still sell the hired guns with a little slip of paper holding their stat card profile?

I actually thought this was less universal than it maybe is. There are some clampacks I have never fully opened, it turns out.

I haven't bought any since The Redeemer, so I couldn't say what their 'recent' packaging is like.

At this stage my last game was 3 or 4 countries ago and my effort to find or build a warhammer group in Hyderabad hasn't gone anywhere.

So I'll build em up, take some pictures and call it a day.

It I wanted to save money I'd have bought a bunch of police hummer toys for $7 a pop but my Arbites Army is still 100% GW so I'll keep to it.

I already have 3 of the Genestealer Cult dune buggies but hey in for a penny in for a hole lot of pounds.

That’s the sort of wheel sprue I can believe will be used in other kits.

What?

I dunno.

So, contrary to expectations absolutely no provision is made to easily do an IG version, faction crew and guns are intermixed on both hull sprues. But at least you can build it without crew without any stray body parts melded into the seats.

Why does a single one of these need over 20 pieces for the wheels?

10 wheels 2xc pieces each.

That seems not true from the video, the crew is on a sprue with the Concussion Cannons, which feel like they'd be Enforcer specific. An IG crew sprue could include something else and different armor plates to make an IG Tauros.

Also, the Tauros is apparently Rear Wheel Drive. Is that true of other large double-read-axeled vehicles of any sort?

Most trucks are rear wheel drive (rwd). while Utes etc tend to be 4wd or rwd. It is better to carry the weight over the drive wheels. So semi-trucks (The 18 wheelers etc) have rear wheel drive on the double rear wheels.

Looks like they pretty much translated the resin design. Two front and four per side on the rear. Looks like they even kept the detailed suspension from the old Tauros Venator. Wonder if they’ll bring back the lighter 4 wheeled Tauros?

Even if they don't, it looks like it wouldn't be hard to convert. From the images of the lighter Tauros, it's basically removing the extra side panel section.

Damn, I wonder if the Razorback turrets would be compatible with that turret ring. Or maybe the immolator.

That's the first thing I noticed. "Why so many wheels, I sez to myself, I sez." Usually you would see that on a big truck that carries a heavy load, not a dune buggy.

Imperial over-engineering. Each one has an independent in-hub electric motor so you can still move it if only one wheel on each side is still intact. Shame about protecting the crew though…

No collected Dramatis Personae from the older books, not even any Sump Sea or Underhive Mutants rules.

Most rules have been seasonal in all of Necromunda's history. New content is released all the time, old stuff forgotten. If you started 6 years ago, the game would look completely different than if you started 4 years ago and again if you started 1 year ago.

What baffles me is how this content always ends up being tweaked and mutated for every reprint. Based on some reviews, outlaw brutes have changed stats and special rules slightly. Why? Don't tell me balancing purposes!

Heck, if you balance the numbers right the crew can replace itself, assuming it survives long enough.

A welcome addition, but they could have done this 18 months ago, if Corpse Grinders aren't getting a new kit there was no reason to make them wait and skip the majority of the setting's lifespan.

They had the chance to fix it in the new book, simply saying all vehicles can gain same weapons as the gang. They sort of did that for the house gangs (after first only doing it for Delaque in a previous apocrypha pdf). But every other gang has to wait for this drip-feeding.

How long will Genestealer cults wait until their vehicles can start with mining laser? Some groups have already implemented this years ago...

Funny that Delaque was given this treat first (as a sort of band aid since they got shafted by not getting any house specific vehicle/mount). But then all house gangs got it, with more options too. And now it continues for non-house gangs too.

Genestealers have Sentinels, Chimeras, Goliath trucks, and Achilles Ridgerunners.

At Games Workshop, we believe that how you behave does matter. We believe this so strongly that we have written it down in the Games Workshop Book. There is a section in the book where we talk about the values we expect all staff to demonstrate in their working lives. These values are Lawyers, Guns and Money.

And wastelander dritbikes and quads. AAMOF, they are the only ones with (non-converted) models for them. I don't think they have a specific crew though.
