And let’s be honest. When the current plastic Power Armour sets kicked off the slightly rescaled MkVI? People were wondering/outright asking when the Terminator kits would follow suit.

Nooo.... GW isn't motivated by money, but by the love for the models and the.... yeah... I can't even make this BS sound reasonable.

People will buy the new models. Bigger is better in the land of Space Marines.

I didn't mean to trigger another burst of posts about GW's mercantile tendencies - or whether we would buy new Cataphractii models (I would). I was referring to the fact that as soon as the new Mk VI armour appeared, people started saying the Cataphractii models were too small. But to me they look the right size.

of course, as soon as GW updates one kit and increase the size, the question for everyone is when the other kits follow because people want their models to fit each other

a reason why factions that have model lines that our out of scale or consists of kits from different design generations don't sell that well

With bigger and slightly more bulky terminators, there is still the awkward fact that super elite resin terminators will be the tiny guys .

I admit I have been looking forward to bigger terminators, and will most likely buy new ones.

No. They are legacy and then gone.

GW:"Space marines got too many options to balance, therefore we decided to legends HH units."
Players: "why?!? Now we finally got decent plastic kits and you cut them?"
Chaos marines players: "Since when are Daemonengines 30k models and why do i have NO droppods now?"
GW" MONEY.... erm i meant TOO MANY OPTIONS (to resell your army to you again by disalowing former units)! Do you want specific tyranid fighiting Primaris? Even a new sabotage lieutnant!"

Well, I paid an exorbitant sum of money for all the SMH terminator models, only to leave em unbuilt an in the bitz box after the new Indomi Terminators were released. The only thing that survived were the custom bases the SMH models came with. To care (too much) is to lose money, every. single. time.

Gotta play Iron Warriors and truly accept the "anything you can get your hands on" mentality.

New Mk6? Good. Resin Mk4? Goood. Black Reach Marines you can carve apart and stick gubbins on? Gooooood.

All serve in the ranks of the IVth.

Or if you like painting your dudes to be Wasp yellow, you can use the Marines Malevolent, who use everybody's armors... or equipment.

None of their suits are pristine, the more marks on a single marine the better.

If I knew where to pick up a bunch of outdated Marines on the cheap, I'd build a Marines Malevolent army.

I'm inclined to agree if it's a simple comparison between Cataphractii and the new Mk.III.

It's possibly an unintended side effect of how GW handled Primaris, where the models are at the same time a head taller than non-Primaris Marines (that's primarily Horus Heresy models and Chaos Marines) and properly sized for seven foot Marines compared to human models. So we end up with 40k Terminators that compare well to Primaris, but are taller and beefier than Horus Heresy Terminators. If Cataphractii and Tartaros are now upscaled to match them, I wouldn't rule out that down the line (although not very soon, to be fair) we'll see another round of Horus Heresy Marines to get them up to Primaris size as well.

All of that could have been avoided if GW had standards.

Yeah I don’t imagine some little strips of leather are actually adding anything, armour wise, to Cataphractii Terminator armour.

So just the Mk2 assault squad we knew about and the next DLC of "kitbash" units two of which are going to be just paintjobs with no bashing and therefore by their own standards should have been in the Liber.

It was actually nice to see the Saturnine command squad. Kind of wish they'd dropped that book at the same time as the box set. Oh well.
