But the twin Bolter looks odd. Like the one on the model’s left is more out of focus than the other.

I noticed that too. It also looks like the second isn't on the same mount - and 28mm Scorpius and Rhino have indeed only the place for one on each cupola.

The double mount is on the vehicle upgrade sprue, it's entirely possible to do that with the 28mm version of any Rhino.

The homage to 50mm square base bottom scratch builds is... lovely.

Makes me wonder why it exists tho, we have the Scorpius.

Indeed - the was a brilliant improvisation. In a recent video Arbitor Ian said it was a piece of Lego, but I remember the base in question.

As for the image, it looks to me as though the bolter is in the middle of the cupola and the second one has been painted in.

If they do bring out the boxy Whirlwind in 28mil, I will kitbash one with a Vindicator chassis (well, mainly for the "doorless" sides). Cuz I already have a Deimos Whirlwind from bashing the 40K Whirlie with a 30K Rhino

That was a sneak peak, not a full preview, so we're gonna see an article on them before they go on preorder. Only the Fellblade and Mk2 Assault can drop at any moment.

They've not shown every model in the unit, but I'd say this counts as a preview. If you ask me, the Cataphractii Squad in this article is more what I'd call a sneak peek.

I can't believe I'm saying this but...the MKII stuff is really growing on me...and so are those yellow and black stripes.

Damn Wayland for shoving 35% discount in my face...

Thank god the MKII Centurion with the large'n'nasty looking Mace of Justice isn't 35% as well...because I would crumple and put an order in right now.

Bolt gun on the end of a stick might not the most silly thing in the 40k universe, but it's bloody close!

You mean like Custodes and the old school Grey Knights?

The Custodes Bolter Spear was around for a bit longer miniature wise than the Grey Knight range....

But that was also before the Custodes wore chest armor.

There was a definite point where they took the GK spear and gave it to the Custodes (even though Custodes already had a proto-version of it), I can see that now that I remember the range, GK got their wrist mounted gun + melee only weapons as an inferior replacement.

There was an old (well, one of the two that ever existed) MKI Marine with the 'Nemesis' halberd.

I need help with a purchase!

Is the 40K primaris upgrade kit for Iron Hands compatible with the 30K marine models? I'm mostly interested in the shoulder pads and transfers, and using them with the new MKII models.

Cheers in advance.

The Shoulder Pads will work just fine on Heresy Marines.

I have been putting the chapter-specific WH40k shoulder pads on most of my Heresy Marines, mostly because I don’t like applying transfers. The issue is that the Primaris shoulder pads are the wrong design for Mk 2 Marines. They included something more appropriate on the firstborn Ultramarines and (OOP) Dark Angels upgrade sprues, but they tend to foul the backpacks. I don’t think it’s a big deal, because it’s easy to justify non-standard features on Heresy armour types.

With so many armour types for Heresy I think it's easy to overlook any differences. As soon as we have unit as MKIV and another as MKIII, we've already broken the consistency so at that point...shoulder pads are fair game.

Thanks for the thoughts and advice!
