Live closer to the lazy painters of Florida who can't prime models for half the year and your dream could be a reality.

Has anyone heard the rumor of a plastic Telemon Dreadnought for Legio Custodes? I keep hearing people talk about it like it's a done deal since the book mentioned weapons the current resin model doesn't have.

I suppose Recon squad will be an upgrade kit, then. Maybe the same kit will have room for combi-weapons as well.

It is sad that GW went the stingy route here and reused the Jump pack sprue from the MKVI assault squad. I liked the old design. Not sure what I'll do, the old resin and plastic MKIV jump packs might look too weedy next to the MKII Jump Packs my beakies are using.. Maybe I'll just use the MKII Jump Packs for everyone..

Does anyone know of some source for IXth Chapter symbols with MKIV style trim on them? I intend to mix some MKIV models into my beakie squads, and they will need sculpter chapter symbols (I only have 1 of the old resin ones)

Seekers will probably be an upgrade kit
Recon I could still see being a separate kit, they'd really benefit from a camo cloak or something I think. Although just a sniper upgrade bit is certainly within the realm of possibilities if GW wants to be lame and boring

The old style MKIV jump packs will look fine on them. They will look weedy next to the new MKII jump packs, but that is because the latter are comically oversized for some reason (same as their chainaxes). They're out of proportion with all the other backpacks and jump packs.

I wonder if the mk 6 style jump packs are on a seperate sprue from the mk 4 bodies, and maybe a destroyer upgrade set will come along with the single turbine packs added to the mk 4 assault bodies

Well, that is like, just your opinion, man. When the new MKII Assault Squad kit was released, I tested both the old resin Jump Packs and the new MKII Jump Pack side by side on my NuBeakies, and the old resin ones looked too weedy in comparison. So in the end I went with the larger plastic ones. Which made me quite sad, as I had just spent 150€ on ebay sourcing the OOP resin Jump Packs in that style.. I do agree with you on those chainaxes though, they look dumb and wont be using them.

I hope recon is bespoke and not an upgrade kit, we need proper lads with sniper poses and cloaks.

We've already seen the jump pack sprue (in the mkvi assault squad kit), so yeah it is separate:

Stuck in the snow.

I'm assuming they'll release MkV next year if they keep this pattern.
The only question now is will they wipe out all the MkVII kits from 40k and release a MkVII Late Siege/Scouring kit to replace them?

I feel like the odds are astronomically low, but now that the Firstborn Deathwatch kit is gone, I wonder if we could eventually even see a Scouring or Badab War MkVIII kit as well. (Tbh, I don't remember when canonically MkVIII was developed so...)

Eh these days ANY failure in art is called out as AI. Though an extra finger is very classic AI.

See, here's the issue, GW doesn't credit artists at all since a long time. Ergo i don't believe them at all in regards to QA and i certainly don't put them above the use of AI slop in the pursuit of not saving some pennies

I genuinely don't believe GW directed their artistic employees or contractors to use AI. Quite the opposite, we know they told them not to.

But I cannot fathom how a human would draw an extra finger, especially one so perfectly integrated into the hand/wrist like AI does.
GW's explanation of "it's miniature photography" makes even less sense - their minis have the right amount of fingers too!

I'm pretty convinced an artist used an AI filter of some kind. And it, as AI is want to do, added an extra finger.

That's the maddest part of all though, generative AI stopped routinely making that kind of basic anatomical mistake ages ago now. So if it is AI not only must they have cheaped out by using AI at all, they then cheaped out again by using an old or poorly trained model.

It's not AI. It's a photoshop layer error, probably.

This is what everyone is saying and I agree it's the most likely.

Like, for real. AI is a scourge, but this is serious. Under British law GW could get in genuine trouble for lying to their investors here, and they are adamant they don't use AI.

We already have countless companies that cheerfully boast about using AI whatever their customers say or want. What point would there be to lying?

$$.
Because when you claim you dont use AI, and then you get caught & there's potential consequences....

People: "You used AI!"
Them: "No we didnt. Thats, uh, um, a Photoshop layering error. Yeah, that what is is."
People: "Sure it is...."

Next theyll try & convince us that 11e is thoroughly playtested & finely balanced.

problem here is, the rules text for HH already reads AI written with pointless stuff added into the middle of a paragraph to fill the pages

which was put down as "we just want the rules as detailed as possible, no AI is used at GW"
Now we have an extra Finger that "Photoshop error, we don't use AI"

at least for HH this doesn't look good but won't matter at all, as even if GW would stand there and announce that all rules, all pictures and all models are made by AI and that is why they don't credit artists any more, there won't be any consequences outside of a week of social media outcry and next release selling out on pre-order

No matter what they do, people get over it and buy because what else you gonna do, play a game made by someone else

The Ork on the cover art of Fear The Alien famously had six fingers, so GW's artists do have form.

And GW's Photoshopping on box art is often sloppy.

I'd agree that it's almost certainly an editing tool incorporating AI in this case though.

Yea and the deranged language hasn't been used anywhere else.

I'm convinced the devs made a cool, streamlined rulebook, and then some manager threw a fit and told them they're not allowed to have a slimmer book than last time and they have 6 hours to pad it out, so they put it into a basic LLM and asked it to make the text longer while saying the same thing.
