If max is 10 safe to say 5-10. 40k doesn't use fixed squad sizes all that much.especially for basic squads.
Right... Sorry had a bit of a brain fart there
You got something wrong? On the internet? You must die!
Are they really supposed to be down to max 10? That's... That feels low.

Codex preorder next week along with Combat Patrol: Chaos Daemons and some mto
The fact they named it Combat Patrol Chaos Daemons instead of Daemons of Khorne probably means there won't be more Combat Patrols focused on different daemons.
There could still be AoS Vanguard sets but that would probably be a combination of mortals and daemons like the Nurgle one so not really relevant for 40k

They can give space marines like 6 different combat patrols mostly built around the same 3-4 kits, but they can't give daemons four different combat patrols built around the totally unique model ranges available to each of the 4 subfactions of the army?

Does AoS not have similar combat patrols for Daemons? Possible they'd just rebox them

Very odd, given the horrors are metal, and the Karanak is terribly naff compared to the plastic kit. And honestly I don't think you could pick worse kits for ( GW's) resin than the flamers and beast of nurgle, though I suppose its patchable with greenstuff without much notice.
Puzzled by the combat patrol, given the nurgle strat collecting is also gone. I'll miss the blood throne/skull cannon, but even with the duplicate kits I might buy that to flesh out my khorne daemons. Its not that bad, all things considered.
I'm just glad the chaos marines/daemons saga is finally over. I think. Quite keen to see something else in the pipeline after this long slog of failure.

There are still 'Start Collecting' boxes for Slaanesh & Tzeentch. The Nurgle one was dropped when the 'Vanguard: Maggotkin' box came out, and I'm not sure about Khorne.

The start collecting Khorne is gone from the site as far as I can see. I guess I'll never get around to getting one more for the blood throne.

There were Start Collecting kits for all four daemon gods (under the AoS name but of course also usable for 40k)
The Tzeentch and Slannesh versions are still available as they didn't get their book yet but the nurgle one was replaced with a Vanguard set that also has mortals in it which can only be used in AoS so its no longer relevant for 40k
Khorne was a special case since it had both a mortal and a daemon SC since they where the big opponents for AoS 1st edition but the daemon version has since been discontinued with the mortal version still available since they didn't get their book yet.
I would expect them to release just a Khorne-mortals Vanguard set since the daemons part is already covered by the 40k Combat patrol but for Tzeentch and Slannesh they will probably go the way of the Nurgle one and release a combination of mortals and daemons for their Vanguard sets so they would both not be good for 40k.
If they did it like that it wouldn't be a problem for AoS since they would be able to use any of the Vanguards and the CD Combat Patrol but 40k would only be able to use the Combat Patrol since mortals are useless for 40k players so no cheap starter for Slannesh/Nurgle/Tzeentch Daemons
Tzeentch is getting their book next so we will see then if they either release a mortals only Vanguard which would increase the probability of a Tzeentch- CP or if they go the mixed route which would probably mean no Tzeentch CP for 40k players

A couple weeks ago, with a lack of any announcement at all (though it was shortly before the announcement of the codex)
The lack of a new model at all is interesting, simply because I thought the announcement way back of the beginning of 9th was that every codex would get at least one model.
It may be that the daemon prince got shifted (to accompany AoS Slaves to Darkness) due to whatever delays are going on, but was originally intended to come with this. I guess will know if it gets the real datasheet or gets a temporary one like the chaos marine book.

There were eight sculpts (two duplicates in the box); the three in the process of splitting are not in the photo for this BTO.

Talk about timing. HA! And that Made to Order selection is weird. Why Karanak and The Masque when they have superior have plastic replacements. And no Diaz Daemonettes??? I bought three of those sets last Thursday! Boy am I glad I did that. And they've been gone from the GW website for a while. One of the stores I order from was still able to get them last week, so try your luck. You never know what you might get.

Indeed.
Both Tzeentch and Slaanesh Herald on foot are finecrap figures.
I was looking to have a plastic one with this
release to put them on par with Khorne
and Nurgle, whose plastic heralds were released ages ago.
Again pretty disappointed.

My guess is they either don’t have workable molds or are afraid of clearly visible boobies because a run of those would be printing money. Bring back the 1st edition Gristlewhip, Limbsuck, and Fiendthrob daemonettes!

I don't think GW are afraid of the Juan Diaz Daemonettes, they did a run of them 6 years ago. It's more likely a case of wanting to cycle through their archived molds.

Which is really annoying because the splitting ones are some of the most unique sculpts from that set!

Omfg, I wasn't even paying attention to that. It's because the real photo is on square bases, isn't it?

Technically we have a new Belakor and Skulltaker and Khorne Herald that were published since the last book, they simply were relesed prior to the codex, that’s it. I wonder a bit that the Keeper Twins from AoS were not included in to 40k rules because the named AoS Deamonprince was for whatever reason, despite looking 0 like matching the setting.

It's impossible to say why Dexcess and Synessa weren't included; they weren't inclcuded in the 2nd Hedonites book despite obviously being finished by the time Slaanesh Mortals were released. But its GW so they might randomly show up in a White Dwarf or something.
Automatically Appended Next Post:
I want to see what they done with Fiends of Slaanesh since Wallce says they were amazing and apparently worth maxing out on.
If Daemonettes have 4 attacks I can't imagine Fiends have less that 6 attacks @ S5/ AP-2/Dam 2.
Assuming +1W and +1T, and.... they're basically CSM Possessed? Does that sound right? The models are huge they should be better in melee than Possessed.

Yeah, that isn't at all how publishing and distribution works.
Also, honestly, at this point, a lot of 40k stuff seems delayed. With stuff they produce in house, there is a certain amount of control. Books published outside... well, they probably can't hold them off for long (if at all) past the originally scheduled dates.
