You're going to lose more than you've had just like with Death Guard and Thousand Sons. It's inevitable, and pretending it won't be the case is just plain silliness.

I've heard that Ogors and Sons of Behemet will be combined. I leave it to one of the Godfathers of All Things Ogors, Doom & Darkness. Again, this is what he has heard from others around and the rumor they would combine. It could be fake news but it could be real. We should probably find out later this week.

Behemet is a very niche army for certain. I could see GW merge them with Ogors with Giants being a restrictive theme force within the Battletome.

But at the same time I could see Gargants just being their own thing and a smaller range, just like Knights are for 40K

Honest Wargamer Rob put out a tweet shortly after the foot teaser that the books are being combined just as a wind up and to see how far it would go (I happened to have the stream on when he did it) so if that's the source it's fake.

Edit -check out the guy crouching on the bridge. Apparently the model will look a bit like the Deamon Brutes from Horus Heresy.

It's not a vidcast, it's an article covering stuff from a live seminar. Should all go up at once on the hour, I think.

Marketing and building hype?

Especially since a lot of people will only check the GW site for big announcements like that. So they aren't checking every article or looking for leaks or reading reddit pages and such. A big part of marketing is repeating information so that different customer segments get as full a picture as possible.

They've had preview events showing off stuff we've already seen before, so stuff a month in advance is a big step forward.

We have been drop feed with squat minis news for the past weeks, so this, IMO is a good chance to collate all and reveal all that is remaining in one go.
I expect the 40k announcement to be mostly that.

We know that there's a "big reveal" coming for them, per last week's article on the Votann. We also didn't get a League article this week.

I'd hazard a guess that the intention is revealing the range and an army box tonight.

Because people have been waiting since April to see the range properly? Hopefully they ave a few more units to show off as well as characters and we haven't really seen the range together yet. Its nice for a faction to get its time in the sun -especially for the squats as they've been gone for so long and been brought back- how can they not make a big deal out of that?
I'm sure they will show off some Guard and World eaters stuff -which would have been more impactful if someone hadn't leaked images from both factions.

In the past, reveals may only focus on one thing per GW category. I don’t mind if they show off the land train and squat characters but I don’t want that to be the sole 40k focus

No, it's being livestreamed on their Twitch channel. Says so right in the preview video from the War-Com article.

Not in terms of models, but it sounds like it (and the article on WHC) revealed several rules we weren't aware of.

Yes, you are correct. I was referring strictly to models, apologies that wasn't explicitly stated.

Given the Battle Report, the Army List and everything not showing us a single new thing, I am frankly of the opinion that the only Votann things left to reveal will be a single HQ unit, a Brokhyr, and the Land Fortress.
