New Game color paint sets, and cases, will be released in Q1 2023 🙂 Sorry for not arriving before.
Cases may be a hold up on paint sets as I imagine they come from an outside supplier.

It looks like they're in order on the color chart. Note that the colors being carried over have kept their original number whereas new colors have a 1xx number. It also appears that some paints appear in more than one triad (e.g., Sun Yellow, Moon Yellow and Toxic Yellow are one triad while Gold Yellow, Sun Yellow and Moon Yellow woulld also be a triad).

It might not just be GW that can’t market their way out of a wet paper bag.
Christmas would have been ideal for them, but they may have experienced delays internally. Development of any product can take time for any number of reasons. You can have the entire thing mapped out to the Nth degree but unforeseen circumstances are... y'know, unforeseen. So that was probably their aim, but things slipped in development.
Those slippages will have been compounded by delays in getting the paint ranges out into foreign markets, too.
They aren't deliberately delaying the release or anything. It just is what it is. I'm sure Vallejo want these paints in our hands as quickly as humanly possible.

I have all the new Game Colors here, and I there isn't really a triad system despite what they say on their website. There isn't anything printed on the back of the bottles except for small print. Sometimes there are four colours that go really well together, sometimes three, plus the odd colour or two thrown in that stands on its own.

Thanks for the information Sir!
Keeping an eye for when the new VGC land. The bundles are always sweet.
Shame on the bundle.
If it comes before end of Jan I will order, but if not I think the voucher would run out.
Or wait, maybe you get a year for a gift card/voucher. I’ll be fine.

Weird. I rather liked the triad idea to help me deal with certain colours. Does some other manufacturer have the triad matches on the bottles, or did I just dream it?

I took a look at the PDF for the new game color range and seems there are quite a few colors disapearing. These are all the ones I could find. Some might get a new similar color but didn't really look at that.
002 arctic white
017 dark blue
018 stormy blue
033 livery green
037 filthy brown
041 dwarf skin
046 ghost grey
064 yellow olive
065 terracotta
068 smokey ink
092 brown ink
097 pale yellow
105 mutation green
130-136 All of the "game effects", some get replacements
140-155 All of the "extra opaque" heavy colors. Except 145 heavy grey, 148 heavy warm grey and 155 heavy charcoal
202 grey wash
205 green wash
The only one I used was dwarf skin, so gonna order a bottle of 2 of those.

The Extra Opaques were always just relabeled Model Color paints (with the exception of Heavy Warmgrey which was a new paint). You can find the Model Color equivalents to the Extra Opaques in the Game Color pamphlet for the curremt line.

Reaper got rid of their HD line a few years ago as well (which is the same thing as these High Pigment paints). Maybe these types of paints just don't sell that well so it's better to focus on other lines? Especially with the artist tube paints getting popular.

The Extra Opaques are existing Model Color paints. They predated the Foundation paints by at least a decade (and probably more) and will still exist as long as the Model Color range is available (which shows no signs of going away). It just points to them just being a superfluous part of the Game Color range due to the reformulation of that range.

Are we sure they're identical? I was looking at a paint chart from someone who calculated the RGB values of paints and made a comparison chart stating the DeltaE, and the extra opaques had a small DeltaE but it was greater than zero relative to the VMC paints suggesting they were close but not identical.
Vallejo has been known to ninja-alter paints without even changing the name or number or mentioning it to customers so it wouldn't surprise me if they tweaked them a little bit rather than just a straight relabelling.

High pigment paints have always been my favourite paints and make up a disproportionate number of the paints I own

Yeah, these are all gone.
I have the new Game Colors here for reviewing, and I can tell you that most of the old colours that got carried over also changed slightly. Some are quite identical, some changed more noticeably, but because of the more matt finish, they all look slightly different from their old versions. So if you rely on a colour from the old range I recommend stocking up now.

The Warpaints Air range is designed in triads which is printed on the labels. Two Thin Coats were also designed in triads, but they're not printed on the bottles, it's just on their webpage.

From the 'Vallejo FAQ, 22 September 2014' (attached below]:
4.2. Are the new extra opaque colors in Game Color similar to Model Color?
Yes, for these 16 Extra Opaque colors, the Model Color formula was used, since the viscosity of this formula supplies the opacity needed for a quick, one- coat base or foundation application.
4.4. Are the colors in Game color the same as in Model Color, only more liquid?
No, we produced a selection of colors designed for Fantasy Figures, and although the basic colors (red, blue, etc.) may be alike, the major part of the range will not have any match in Model Color, always excepting the 16 colors in the Extra Opaque series, which have exact equivalents in the Model Color range.

After watching another Giraldez tutorial on the new paints he kind of convinced me that xpress paints work amazingly well as tone glazing rather than just the slap paint and watch it dry.
The fact that these have higher drying time and are less viscous make these ideal for that. ( not even mentioning the great price XD)
He also said on the video that these were formulated with both techniques in mind which is plus for me.
In short I can see these being a good tool for the traditional type of painting style aswelll as the fast use.
Slowly stores are starting to update the sites with the new ranges and what a great start of 2023 this will be.
I would also suggest anyone to avoid the " buy all the old paints because new ones differ slightly the sky is falling" type of speech since we have seen all paints from all ranges changing/ delisted or being tweaked and guess what, we are still here having fun and painting with all ranges.

Yeah I’m getting more and more on board with these being the ones I want, whenever a set containing them all comes out.
Or a bundle deal if stores do it themselves maybe.

Looking at the Vallejo Facebook page it seems that they underestimated the demand for the Xpress and Game Color paints and are working to rectify the situation.

It'd be nice to have a date. I'm about to start painting a new force, wanted to kick it off with Vallejo's new paints, but if they aren't out I'll just be reverting to Citadel Contrasts instead.
Here in Oz, most shops aren't even advertising it, the couple that are advertising it don't have a date, they just list it as out of stock.
