Recently got all the unused parts from a friend's Blooded Kill Team, and having no use for a bunch of Bolt Action US bodies, I decided to make a Militia Recon Squad. I still have to find three more scopes to make three into Snipers and make some camo-cloaks, but the basics are down:

Good use of bits. Warlord's dudes are awfully 'heroic', so they've ended up with very wide shoulders. I wish GW would stop moulding the left hand onto the weapon stock, as it makes converting so much harder.

I do love that Lasgun design.

Most of the army uses the Kantrael or Galaxy patterns for Lasguns or whatever scrap I could find for Autoguns, so having the whole unit with the long Mars pattern makes them stand out from the rest of the force.

Of course, the capes and the fact that there are only 10 of them do that too, but who's counting?

Just finished some Daemon Brutes for my Esoterist to summon - The Spawn of Poison Flame, composed of the bones of slain Astartes still burning in phosphex and alchemical death!

Warhammer Day on Saturday. And I could be persuaded to buy £150 worth of MOAR HERESY so I can get the shiny trinkets.

In terms of toys I don’t have any of?

Typhon, Command Squad*, Scorpius.

In term of toys I could do with more of?

Predators.

Reckon I can hit that comfortably.

*I don’t think I do anyways. Will check the hobby room.

Just finished some test models for some archaic Ruinstorm Daemons. The next 14are mid-paint.

I soon have 3 Earthshakers and their crew done. SOON

After that i will finish up my darkmech army.

Have decided. I’m going to use the crappy weather winter months to catch up on all my assembly jobs. Get everything built.

When it starts to cheer up? That’s when I’ll get the painting done. Which reminded me to stock up on Army Painter’s Grim Black. Got 10 bottles on the way, which should be far more than sufficient. Why so many? Consistency, and I think that range is in the process of being replaced.

Also, if anyone might fancy a straight swap of my MkII for your MkVI, let me know.

I’m using MkVI for my basic infantry, MkIII for Inductii, and MkII for Veterans. As my two Saturnine sets have overfurnished me with 80 MkII, I reckon at least half will be Swap Fodder.

Unless I’ve gone insane and missed the existence of Veteran Heavy Support Squads?

Originals. I have about 40, acquired mostly in good-value joblots from EBay.

It is done. My militia army is finished. The last bit, the last artillery. This would be my 4th completly finished army.

Just about ready to re-prime my Sons of Horus after re- working them for 3rd Edition.

- the former Despoilers are now Reavers. Overpriced, but an opportunity to add lots of different weapons. They still need some spikes.
- the former Veterans are now Veteran Tacticals with combi-volkite - not massively effective, but cool looking.
- there are 2 Centurions, to maximise the additional slots.
- the former command squad is back to a normal squad, with a mixture of weapons.

I also based my Rapiers, since they now officially have bases. They obviously aren’t as nice as the new plastic kits, but I think they look good next to the old MkIII models - functional and a bit crude.

Dug out some of my left over Heavy and Special Weapons.

So next job is 10 Heavy Flamer and 10 Multimelta, and 10 Inductii with Volkite Chargers.

Trying to finish a unit of 10 Varagyr Wolf Guard Terminators.

Don’t seem to concentrate enough to get them finished so have to regularly go back and paint a bit more on them?

Hopefully will be able to pick up 1 or 2 Javelin Landspeeders on my visit to Warhammer World in a couple of weeks time

Had a bit of break, but managed to polish off a new Typhon for me Death Guard this weekend...

Which means….MOAR HOBBY! Possibly MOAR HOBBY THAN EVAR BE4!

I do need a new spray booth though. And a cutting mat.
