Cheers. I think it's mostly currently available STLs, if you know where to dig... I hate to gatekeep, but none of these sculptors need another legal smackdown right now, least of all those based in Ukraine.

Spent a couple of days reading and re- reading the 2nd edition militia PDF and changing my army build. And also looking at a 1000point Zone Mortalis army. Also undercoated some Kreig which am using as my militia infantry

So I'm stuck at home with the cold/flu/'rona/whatever and finally got the replacement Breachers done to make the unit legal in 3.0

Next up I should attempt to correct the green on my vehicles, tried 3 different hues on different vehicles trying to match the contrast paint on the infantry and I finally have the right one.

However it requires a bit of light to look decent. Else it just looks like black orangeish with brass trimms.

Iron belcher spray.

Black templar contrast, thinned with water, yes irregular and washed out effect is encouraged, if not wished use medium and or use just black templar.

Army painter matt white, where your future glow is going to be.

Yriel yellow thined with water to either get more highlight or just remain at matt white.

Use gryphhound orange as a finisher. Innacuracy gets rewarded since heat dispersion is a thing.

Also army painter brassy brass.

Nuln oil over metal left over or brass. Behold, finished.

Also they are named, the bots that is, you just need to be able to read the chaos rune alphabet

In redeploying my Heresy stuff to display cabinets? Think I’m gonna expand my Mechanicum to a full sized army.

I’ve pretty much got that, but as more plastic comes out I’ll be adding variety. For instance? At least one box of Myrmidons.

Great job on them. yeah contrast on vehicles that should be consistent is a pita. Or requires 2 / 3 thin coats of it, with long dry phases and propperly positioned model.

With The Damned delivery on the horizon, this BF seems like the right time to start picking up files for Imperialis Militia.

I'm not doing the full 3000 pts, that's still unfeasible despite points on the world's worst infantry getting jacked up pretty heavily in 3.0

But around 1000 pts of fun allies focusing on the more playable units (the Support and Fast Attack sections, basically) I might pull off in time to use them once before this edition runs out.

I have built a couple, and I quite like them. They look a bit naff in profile, but otherwise they're kind of cool. Especially when you add the Praetor.

Been building 2 Rapiers with Kreig crew for my Militia army.

After some moons I've finished the Milita Recon Squad.

The issue with the bodies being Bolt Action US Infantry is hidden pretty well by the Green Stuff capes IMO. The fact that the bodies are smaller and have the "tactical" poses, I think, helps give them a good recon vibe as well.



Pics aren't perfect, but hey, there's only so much you can do holding a desk lamp in one hand and a phone in the other to get a shot where you can actually make out details.

And I finished updating my old units to 3.0 with this Sergeant and replacing chooms with flamers on the Termite

To do this in this weather, I removed an important bottleneck for my painting - I built an indoor air scrubber for my spray booth, so I can undercoat without an open window.

Haven't posted here before, but I've been working on a Scouring-era Sons of Horus army. I've paused for the time being (this was more of a painting project and probably won't see the tabletop) but this is some of the work done so far. The concept is that Horus is dead, and the Legion has been shattered. What survivors remain are now veterans and have managed to escape Terra, and are trying to escape retribution by the vengeful Loyalist Legions. I've used a mix of Heresy bits, Chaos marines, some 3D printed/custom parts and greenstuff. A few below and then rest under spoiler tags as there are a lot!

MDG - that is some impressive mini knowledge there, recognising that shotgun!

Nicky J - yes it is a field police reference from Rogue Trader (he has lost his way a bit!) I added a lot of stowage and equipment/spares to the roof of the rhino. Its a reference to a WW2 photo I saw of German troops retreating from the Eastern front with all of their supplies attached to the top of the tank. I imagined a similar thing with SoH retreating after their retreat, they couldn't expect any more supplies so would try and take what they could scavenge.

Me, I'm currently agonizing over Solar Auxilia lists and colour schemes, for some reason. I desire a new project and I'd prefer Militia but Wargames Atlantic is dropping the ball on kickstarter delivery on that.

There models have loads of character. In fact, they kind of make me wish I'd gone for something closer to this look with my own SoH.

I am a big fan too of adding gear to vehicles - especially when (as here) it helps give the model a backstory. Yours is reminiscent of the model in the WD article with the metal crew riding on it. I love the chains holding the gear on. It looks as though a Tamiya Sherman was sacrificed in order to provide the spare tracks and wheels.
