And I do agree that the bigger base is a boon to fantasy. Especially using older models, where they could fit, sometime with a struggle and some insane jigsaw-tetris planning. I really wanted that when the rumors of the game coming back started. I'm so glad they did. Now they just need to keep new releases under control!

I'm gonna need more base extender in the future for sure, have a lot of painted mini that needs it!

Black orcs finally, finally rank up and it is glorious . I dipped briefly into the MTO Empire for the command lots, but am buying myself into Tomb Kings for next year. Never had an army of them, but always wanted one. The glorious (but not quite-as glorious as Settra) name of Ptennis Ra'Khet shall be known throughout the Old World!

I am cleaning Empire MTO models as we speak. My only regret is that I didn't pick more of them! I should have gone for 30 Halberdiers instead of 20.

I was pleasantly surprised that MTO bundles were an exact match of catalogue pages from 4th edition Empire army book. I hope that Swordmen, Spearmen and Halflings make a return as well

They did do the Hot-Pot as a Blood Bowl MTO some years ago so it should be possible to do the rest of the halflings but I fear the lack of rules is a problem. Nothing an arcane journal can't fix though.

I don't know how the 4th spearmen and swordsmen look like. Do you have pictures?

Anything more concrete than that or a link to anything? The Janurary FAQ isn't a rumour, they told us 2 weeks ago it was coming, unless you mean the contents of it, and I don't see a starter box of brand new models and a new rulebook coming out the same summer as 40k's new edition.

This seems unlikely unless it’s maybe just an updated “mini” rulebook that sometimes GW does toward the end of an edition. If Old world is on the 3 year cycle, then a new edition would come out in January 2027, which would be 6 months after this mini rulebook. I could see that happening.

There are more rumours for example that a combined WoC/Beastmen armybook will be released soon.

Why would they combine them? Warriors of Chaos and Beastmen are big fully developed factions. I could see them getting a joint release side by side of army books, but I got the impression that Old World was going to start moving away from compendiums and into separate armybooks for factions

Who knows. Maybee to tie them stronger together and to avoid "watering down" chaos warrior identity of no ranged whatsoever whilest still providing tactical ranged tools in the form of ungors.....

Which is hillarious seeing as we got cathay and know that kurgan, hung and mung use horse archery. Alas. GW gonna GW.

I think it is more meant to be an Arcane Journal like the Jade Fleet one.

More likely mutiple Arcane Journals. That seems to be their model at the moment - spread out info and stats SUPER thin over as many books as possible.

I mean they would likely be a Arcane Journal: Armies of Dread Sylvania with Mannfred and some units. Arcane Journal: Armies of the Risen Dead - Lichemaster and a few units. etc

Also it mentions that there is an alternative build for it. Does somebody have pictures of it?

It's not new, but it is plastic. Was released with the 8th ed book.

I got the model for converting purpose years ago, and didnt realise it could be assembled as holding a fancy telescope until i read the description just now. That explains why I had a really fancy telescope in my bits box!

Wood Elves
- Glade Guard point drop
- Eternal Guard Points drop
- All Cav Point drop
- Dryads faster and now with AP

Bretonnia
- Royal Pegasus now a Monstrous Mount

Empire
- Priest Leadership up
- Flagellants now T4

New Arcane Journal
- Runs like classic 6th edition Chaos. Mixed Beasts and Warriors
- 1+ Gors, 1+ Marauders mandatory
- Idea being each unit is trying to out perform the other to gain favour


New starter set next summer, Tomb Kings vs Wood Elves. New Rulebook with updated FAQS included

Ah, the very reason I chose Chaos when I decided to pull the trigger for WHFB; the fact that your general determined Daemons, Warriors, or Beastmen core choice was very appealing. It'd be very nostalgic if that came back. I can easily run 1 Gor-Horde and 1 block of Marauders with my wall of Warriors while having access to Minotaurs and other weirdness.

(yes, I know there's no mention of Daemons, but I can dream)
