I’m hoping a MTO for the god specific Chaos Champions.

Even to this day, I think they still stand up as excellent sculpts.

I always said GW should have scrapped one of 3 different wizard wagons to make one war wagon. A model that people will buy 2 or 3 of is more useful than a magic laser cannon or whatever.

But they never listen to me.

I was wondering why it would not have been made part of the regular range, but if they can run it on a MTO and make that sort of money on it then that explains its.

I've been buying releases in bulk up until the new chaos marauder release. As they start to replace older kits with new ones, I don't see the need to keep up with purchases any more.

So I'm glad they are keeping up with more MTOs, I buy a fair bit of 2nd hand older kits but I like the ease of being able to pick up whole units or rarer commands in one go from the MTOs.

I'm hoping that the popularity of the war wagon would encourage them to bring the landship to MTO sooner!

I miss the really old chaos warhounds that had different tails and double heads. I was hoping they'd come back, rather than the more recent metals that inspired the plastic kit

I'd be very surprised if the Landship ever returns. The rear wheels must have been a nightmare to remove from the molds

Seconded! I recently was gifted 5 or 6 Khorne champions of that era and I'd like to make a 10-man regiment of Chosen with them.
I even found some old shields on eBay for a realistic price for them.

I wouldn't really take the War Wagon as an indicator of success for TOW (though I'm not saying TOW isn't successful). A lot of people in the Middlehammer groups with no other desire to touch TOW jumped on the chance to grab one because it was still cheaper than eBay prices.

Any dive into 4th/5th era models is probably going to have inflated numbers vs other MTOs.

Okay now that mounted lord is something I'd be interested in getting. I already have the Sorcerer version mounted.

I’m getting the sorcerer for sure- one of my favourite sculpts. the price tag on those hounds though! £42…ouch, I was hoping for half that.

Yeah I was tempted to get some to add to the few hounds I have but at £42 that's a steep price tag. The chariot at £26 is a bit more acceptable, but still a little on the high side considering that you'd likely want a pair at least

That would break me (or my wallet) I love those so much.

Now I like the Mounted Chaos Lord from this MTO, but don't have much of anything else to buy from GW directly, so would have to pay shipping there which isn't ideal (model is 36$ here, shipping is 27). And he might clash with my Chaos knights made from the Storm of Chaos models. But I've been browsing all the Old World armies to see if there's anything I'd want to had The Chaos Trolls might be the one thing that get added if I decide to order it.

Fantasy armies - Retired (Tomb Kings, Vampires, Empire, Chaos Warriors/Daemons, Dark Elves)

Tyranids army - Ever evolving, but about 10k pts
Custodes - 3,500pts (Fully painted yay!)
Thousand Sons - 4,000 pts
Eldar - 3,000pts

That's a really good price for the chariot, and the chariot army is a viable build, too!

Definitely worth picking some up for character mounts if nothing else.

No gorebeast option like the plastic kit, but that's not as useful in game terms anyway.

Not sure what the price was in your neck of the woods, but I was fairly happy to see that the two of them were only £13.50. Compared to most GW characters, which are normally north of £20 - and to get them in metal, no less - he's a value buy.

I we look at the entire TOW range for WOC, this MTO Sorcerer w/Familiar is the second cheapest thing in the range, after the champion/lord with two hand weapons...

Aye, the sorcerer is half the price of the (AoS) Steel Rook up for MTO. Now, I like plastic for ease of working with and cutting up, but just that comparison does make me wish they had kept releasing new metal models instead of first switching to Finecast and then largely plastic (with a little FW resin). GW prices don't really get much better than some MTO Old World models (and Middle-earth).

In the US. It was $20.50 IIRC. But considering the pricing on new metal characters, it's a bargin.

I would guess that in part the MTO releases are a form of market research. If something does incredible numbers then I imagine GW would start developing a plastic version, which will have much better profit margins. By the time that comes out in a couple of years time or whatever, I imagine a lot of the people who bought the MTO one still won't have built and painted it, or if they have will still be prepared to buy a shiny new plastic one with cool extra gubbins on it.

Lets face it between the metal era and modern plastics from GW the new plastics can pretty much stand up super well against the metals in terms of detail.

I've always thought that model was based off of Lloyd Alexander's Horned King from the Prydain Chronicles. Though there is probably an older Welsh legend for the both of them.

Pretty sure it looked stupid back then too.

The associated Hunchback Chaos Warriors might’ve been the first flexible £10 Regiment Box, but those too aged like milk.

And this lad? He’s just never really looked like a GW model.
