It does, absolutely. But they better show off something good (and hopefully the back of a datacard, so we can see gear options and, hopefully, nob options).

Because, really, we all know the faction ability is Waaagh (and they have actually listed that as an example of a faction ability in an article so it _is_ Waaagh).

Hopefully they get something useful for the whole game (like tyranids get Shadow and Synapse), because a once per game bonus when charging doesn't cut the mustard on faction abilities.

Efficiency is the highest virtue.

Read over the Custodes article today, overall looks good and I'm quite pleased by the Toughness boost (I hope this means MegaNobz also go up in T) but I am disappointed in the Sisters of Silence. I think I was the only Custodes player running them at my last FLGS, they were a niche unit and its disappointing to see their anti-psyker nullification disappear and get replaced with a FnP. While they may still exist as Stratagems that's remarkably worse considering CP is more limited.

Agreed, a faction ability should be for the whole game rather than just a one off ability. Although I wouldn't be surprised if they manage to combine Mob Rule and Waaugh into the faction bonus.

That would have made them immune to Force Weapons, Corrupted Staffs, Singing Spears & Witchblades

Does being a blank stop you being stabbed?
Do you want to play a game where sisters of silence can charge into a Seer council and they cannot do anything at all because they lack any non-psychic melee weapons?
God knows what the effect on Grey Knights would have been. "Our psychic weirdness makes us immune to being run through with nemesis weapons"

The way they have chosen to implement psychic attacks in 10e means complete immunity was never going to be a possibility, a really good FnP is a good compromise (and less fiddly than debuffing all psychic attacks)

completely immune, maybe not. That's just a boring interaction.

But would've generally liked to see some interactions with the [psychic] keyword, if they have it in there. -1 to hit/wound by psychic attacks (maybe also units nearby). The abilities to cancel psychic auras as seen on the Abominant. Etc.. on a 4+ or some such thing?

Not necessarily just Sisters of Silence. Just generally in the game. The [psychic] label on attacks, abilities, auras seems completely pointless thus far.

But that would leave only Xenos for next week. So they'll have to break the "pattern" either way. Question is if they break it this week or next week.

Given their willingness to have multi round stages to a rule, it would be in keeping with a waaagh that it builds over the game as they get stuck in.

Ie

Waaagh

Turn 1 onwards
May charge after advancing

Turn 3 onwards
Gain sustained hits 1 on all attacks

Something like that to reflect the battle building up the waaagh energy.

They could even implement psychic attacks that are affected by the turn, like da stomp is d6+the round number attacks.

Sure.

But if TSons and GK are this week, "pattern" would be (I=Imperium, C=Chaos, X=Xenos)

IXCX ICIXC IXCIX CIXCI XX

More likely it would be GK and Drukhari (or GSC) this week, and then TSons and GSC (or Drukhari) next week to match the IXCX pattern we saw early on with Marines, Nids, CSM, Necrons?

Well sisters get fnp vs any weapon with psychic and the mw aura frod abooinant as well.

Overall gw went with psychic just being things.nobody turns captain buff off either.

Core rules say all damage from auras are considered psychic attack if aura has psychic keyword.

Sisters get fnp thus.

Exactly. The whole point of the SoS was that psychic powers just don't work on them. The FnP ends up being kind of goofy by letting them get protection against Witch Blades and other Psychic stabby weapons as others noted. I feel like they could have easily sidestepped this by saying "SoS cannot be targeted by shooting attacks with the [Psychic] keyword" or something to that effect.

I suspect cancelling Psychic auras or powers will be a stratagem for SoS. I think it should have been one of the few units in the game to retain an aura, with either a -1 Hit or Wound as you mentioned. We may end up seeing a Psychic Hood enhancement that gives the enemy [Psychic] attacks have a -1 to Hit instead.

They were shown as having their own codex on that list but Dark Angels were there too so you may be right, and they will not get a separate focus.

If you were an ork player, you would have learned to fear new rules instead of looking forward to them

7 Ork facts people always get wrong:
Ragnar did not win against Thrakka, but suffered two crushing defeats within a few days of each other.
A lasgun is powerful enough to sever an ork's appendage or head in a single, well aimed shot.
Orks meks have a better understanding of electrics and mechanics than most Tech Priests.
Orks actually do not think that purple makes them harder to see. The joke was made canon by Alex Stewart's Caphias Cain books.
Gharkull Blackfang did not even come close to killing the emperor.
Orks can be corrupted by chaos, but few of them have any interest in what chaos offers.

So many things they could have done - but hey not Marines so no defensive aura for them

And you are happy with the 3+ save against being stabbed

* They could have had it so you could not target them with any kind of psychic attack - you know - like the lore.
* They could have had a negative impact on any nearby Psyker - you know like the lore

Why the feth do non damaging psychic abilities work fine on them now?

GW wants the option to sell a second codex when they finally make the second half playable as it’s own thing, until then your not supposed to want to play that half yet.
