Yikes you never fully realise the ridiculous amount of unit entries Marines have in comparison with the xenos races. I kept on scrolling and scrolling and there was SO much of it.

Get the lube lads we are going to fit 10 Primaris in a Drop Pod.

T6, 3+ save that gets effectively 2+ against smallarms around objectives and 3 wounds sure is something.

If SM can get 252 pages can I just my fething jump Chaos Lord back?

Unfortunately GW doesn't sell Chaos jump packs separately and they don't want you buying them from third parties.

Nah, you'll get 27 flavours of Possessed and variant Terminators instead. More than 250 pages sure drives home how much bloat and nonsense even 'barebones' SM now have, it'll be closer to 500 once you factor in the various sub-flavours and characters. That's just too much for a healthy game.

Yep noticed that on the Primaris techmarine too:

Vengeance of the Omnissiah: If a friendly Adeptus Astartes Vehicle model is destroyed within 12" of this model, until the end of the battle, this model’s Omnissian power axe has an Attacks characteristic of 7.

Gathering the Informations.

Not gonna lie, I would rather that Shrike not have been able to join anyone than to be hucked into the Assault and Vanguard Veterans.

It is neat that the Phobos Captain can lead scouts though.

Amazing how useless Vanguard Vets are vs the Assault Squad, and only have the purpose of carrying Storm Shields to MAYBE keep a Character alive.

Seriously, I'd rather have the Power Fist Sarge, two Eviscerators, and special weapons over....S5 Chainswords. OH and of course Sternguard lost everything but the Heavy Bolter and all the Sarge options.

I have no doubt this list includes a bunch of Legends stuff. There's several datasheets here recently confirmed as out of production, or that already were.

We'll probably see quite a few of these not make it into the printed codex, and be marked as "not for competitive play" in the points list.

Just clearing up a query; if I have a weapon with "Anti-whatever" and "Devastating Wounds", does the successful wound roll from the former proc the Mortal Wounds from the latter?

Some of these abilities are quite flavourful, but others feel like they were tacked on for no discernible reason other than to make everybody 'special' (one i find particularly unnecessary is the Executioner getting a small boost when shooting at units below half-strength). It's the same problem as Stratagem bloat was in 9th: when everybody has a situational gimmick, the mental load and chances of misplay just increase exponentially.

Vanguard vets should definitely have the paired lightning claws option since they give you enough in the kit for them all to have them and there's no reasonable way of looking at two lightning claws and saying "Yes that model's equipped with an heirloom weapon and bolt pistol"

Yes, that interaction was explicitly stated several times. Anti-X causes a 'Critical Wound' on the stated value, and Devastating Wound triggers on Critical Wounds, regardless of how these were achieved.

Oh ok. I guess the Sternguard ability seals the deal on Combis. There's no way that will be balanced if they can put a bunch of plasma/melta into squads.

But also HB only...yikes. Back to pure bolter specialists.

Interesting to see is if you are going to need to get these in order to complement the other chapters datasheets... Like, you will need the SW cards on top of this SM deck.

Wow, Reivers got a glow up. Just constantly battering the enemy with battleshock at a penalty, simply for existing near them.

Theres no generic Chaplain/Librarian with jump pack model right now, right?

So there being datasheets for them gives me hope that my Nightlords might be able to bring jumppack HQs again (please break my hopes right now if i'm wrong)

I love Assault Termies causing battleshock when they charge.

Also...grav seems like it will be some really good anti-tank at least against soft to medium vehicles. I expect to see lots of it.

I'm kind of glad they let the ATVs be part of the Outrider squad if they want.

It's basically a 'don't kill this model' ability. The points should be interesting.

I think snipers are going to be meta this edition, points allowing. At least as a Guard player, they will mess me up. Precision only works in los, I guess.
