Yep it takes two full build plates and these are not small... Its one of the large machines before you get to the extra large machines. I'm not sure if I will grab another of what I have or move to the larger, as things are not equal cost vs size increase and you loose some pixel on the larger printers. There is a machine I have my eyes on but that I think, is a later investment.

The outsourcing is not a bad end goal, getting makers in various countries would help my customers.

If you are not continuing with Eisenkern Panzerjager and Eisenkern Stormtroopers, will these go to WGA in the future? Will the vehicle operaters be the same troop type or are you creating new troops for these vehicles? I guess I am wondering if they are the same army just two different IP owners.

did you say WALKERS!?!? yes, please!

WGA has spent a great deal of money to produce those kits I will not be releasing files on anything they make. As to whether or not they can release files, that's not a discussion we have had, so no.... if you want a physical copy, you would need to buy the plastic kit. As to the tank commander, he is Eisenken, with a tankers hat (Kriegsmarine) so not produced by WGA and its a single truncated figure, so not useful beyond a kit like this. The IP is mine, WGA is licensed to produce the kits they have and any others that we agree upon.

The way I see it, my expansion into printed kits and files should help those plastics, by generating more/renewed excitement in the line.

On (what I would have expected to be) topic:

Man, I love that tracked stug so much!!! I think it better fits with the heavy walkers. Seems like the tracks would be a real bear to print, though. But beautiful!

Off (what I would have expected to be) topic:

As you can see Mark, unfortunately it's just not worth your time contributing here. You've been making this same miniatures line for over a decade with no issue, but now the censors are out, and they're out for blood, as I said. Absolutely no satisfying them. Please don't waste any energy trying!

That is a great point. A grav vehicle could out pace a Walker and fulfil many roles. The tracked vehicle and Walker would complement each other.

Thank you sir!

Those were fantastic kits and WGF really did them justice in the way they form fitted the joints.

In a van down by the river

While I realize that Iron Core never really got fleshed out as a product range and a lot of the documents are no longer publicly available (if I remember correctly many were lost from the old website), it does seem salient to mention that the setting included background and motifs for every major power on Earth from the World War era and three alien races. The next models previewed prior to Wargames Factory exiting the miniature sphere was the Shadokesh (aliens) and the Protectorate (Space Soviets), but as a one-man band losing manufacturing and distribution at a stroke was a setback, to put it mildly. Given a lack of resources, going deep into a mostly-still-existing model line does make much more sense than trying to go wide.

Yes, that is correct... There is split in the normal timeline in WWI, leading much of the worlds population to leave earth and develop isolated from one another, with access to inventing new tech by studying the tech they were exposed to.

Human Factions
The Eisenkern (Gemanic ~ first through the gates)
The Commonwealth (British and colonies)
The Protectorate (Russian and China)
The Independent states (mixed/criminal/rebels)
The Republic (The Americas)
The Brotherhood (Religious/Controlling travel and communication)

Aliens
The Shadowkesh
The Dhar'Hazier
The Kraggen

Mark, I'm glad to see you putting out printed versions of the tanks and the price range is perfectly acceptable IMO.

Just because somebody can home print items at the material cost of resin doesn't mean that a company can offer it at the same price level. The material cost of a sprue of GW plastic is about .30-.50 cents so by that logic kits should only costs $1, said no one ever. There are a lot of costs beyond the materials, time being the largest one, designing the models, setting up the machines, cleaning the prints and packaging them all takes significant amounts of time when done as a whole and a business or individual has every right to charge for that along with make a profit for their efforts. It is an extremely flawed comparison to be directly comparing DF's price against what a cut rate seller printing in their garage or basement charges as they may not even be turning a profit and might even be operating at a loss.

Mark produces excellent models and has always been a stand up guy whenever I've dealt with him. You are always free to choose how to spend your money (or not spend), but don't try and slander Mark or his business with a political brush when you clearly don't know the guy.

Didn't you put out a demonstrator Shadokesh figure for a con or am I imagining things?

Yep a partial tool was cut and tested for the Shadokesh and used as a demonstrator sprue at one point.

DUST never had hover vehicles. they had dustified historical vehicles like panzer IVs with laser turrets about as close as they came to the hover stugg was the hetzer. the axis version had a laser and the IJN version had a railgun (each factions super weapon)

Thats why i was looking at your original kickstarter to represent one. i was lucky enough to finish 5 armies for DUST before it went under (now that CMON has it i have high hopes) 2 axis(heavy genadiers/fallshirmjaeger), one allied (heavy rangers/desert scorpions), one SSU (steel guards) and of course Ctulhu

Yeah ammo drop in Italy still has some of the old models, but the prices are through the roof. last summer paolo made a deal to sell the IP to CMON. they are supposed to be bringing it back this summer starting with a comic+miniatures pre-order deal.

It was a rather sudden thing back in sept 2021 when the shipping/productions problems became to extreme for him to continue the game.

One thing i always wonder though...why gorillas, he always has gorillas first in AT-43 then in DUST... although the cliche 50s style comic book humor of the entire game was a big positive for me- the mercs all being bomber nose art pin up girls, the japanese faction being ninja's and school girls ahem i mean naval cadets etc...

The game is alive and well though even if it isn't in production the rule set is so good we still play it regularly.

I look forward to your stuff coming back, i really loved the designs- the valkir heavy trooper armor was fantastic, kind of had a grey knight armor feel to it. would love to see some of your other factions.

Is it safe to come out yet?

When I first looked at this topic I thought 'cool it's the Dreamforge guy' and 'heh, I remember StuGs from World of Tanks'. I had no funds or place for a grav StuG. Still don't, really, but if one day I ever drag out those SW First Order snowspeeders I once got for gaming, there's a well built hovertank that I've had cause to look at time after time, might slot in nicely with them. A coincidental bumping together of sci-fi themes: naughty 1930s germans in space.
Streisand effect is a rush, you guys should try it out some day.

I've looked too long at maps of 40K (and Star Trek) covering the whole galaxy. Any pointers as to how much 'area' this covers?

Bottom right corner of map, each large square is 100 LY across so its roughly an 800 LY radius centered around Sirius (not earth interestingly enough).

I'd dearly love to see more of those factions represented on the map get releases - or even teases! I was not a huge fan of the Shadokesh concept, but only because I never field sleek armies like that (Eldar / Tau / etc).

Do you have fluff or concepts for any of the others? I obviously went extremely heavy on your mechs (like... bought way, way too many ) both the original resin and the later smaller sized ones, but am very curious about these others

My half-remembered reading of the lore was that they discovered the Iron Core technology which allowed opening gates to other worlds. Over time they opened lots and lots and lots of gates not caring what that meant (despite not-entirely-understood warnings from one of the alien factions) and eventually the Earth ended up more or less uninhabitable because mankind isn't the smartest race around.

The Protectorate I recall having somewhat crappy colony worlds because they were slower off the blocks than the other powers and didn't have the time owing to the aforementioned calamity, so they mainly relied on conventional armor instead of walkers. Not really able to recall the motifs of the other factions off-hand though other those already implied by their origin (i.e. - the Tommy helmet, etc).

Other factions could provide Patreon/MMF Tribes fodder for ages, as long as it was priced in a normal manner (I love Vic's stuff, but her STL prices are way out of sync with everyone else). Anything especially successful that's generic enough as a faction base could potentially then jump to partnership plastic, such as the "Space Nam" guys.

If I remember correctly the Dhar-Hazier look like a hybrid of goblins and GW Genestealer cult. They don't feel pain, and often play pranks on each other that cause broken limbs, but it's all in good fun.

The Kraggen are large lizard people that generally get along with humans. Kind of a raptor looking head with a small blade on the nose.

Shaddowkesh see humans like we would see wild animals. Yes, we are there, mostly annoying, possibly dangerous under the right circumstances, but definitely "under" them.

I want to say the Republic was the "founded by Americans" faction.
