The New Nids didn’t excite me half so much as the new Warcry models.

I love the update to the ghouls and the gibbon hounds are so cool. I like the new Stormcast more than any of the other recent SCE models.

On the Timetable it was listed as a 1,5h stream but at the end it was only 28min.

Hopefully the HH/TOW segment tomorrow will be better.

Nope, because the new sternguard are still primaris. They just fit into the old rules slot. The Firstborn kit is still going away and I detest every second of it.

As per the reveals, the nids were sick, as were the termies. The primaris Marines are Primaris marines, but man I loath the sternguard kit and everything it represents. Like, so much of how sternguard as a kit and a rules entity is antithetical to Primaris and modern GW kit design. Currently, the sternguard can use every man-portable gun in the firstborn have. Which means they'll either have to eliminate or design: Primaris Grav weapons, Melta Guns, Heavy Flamer, Plasma Cannon, Missile launcher (assuming they just don't hand them the Desolator Missiles), and Lascannons. And Include them in the kit unless they've got Primaris Devestators in the pipline. (You likely will also only be bale to take one of each combi-weapon, seeing as the Primaris combi-weapons decidedly are on type only, unless they break at the middle somehow)

or, the far more likely option in that they'll neuter the datasheet or split them between Primaris/Firstborn again. That's the biggest issue with the "unify Primaris and Firstborn" idea, as so much of their unit and kit design philosophy does not mesh.

I guess the Q&A session will be rather spicy

People that bought the one thousand pound Golden Ticket to be guaranteed access to everything are probably not over-enthusiastic to repeat that in the future.

Isn't of a Primaris Proxy that uses elements from the classic style, it's instead a Primaris replacement that uses elements from the classic style.

And even then unless i've missed something the "classic style" parts seems to be...a helmet and a shoulder pad?

I'd guess we'll see a simpler Sternguard datasheet in the Codex that only includes the guns in the new kit, and there will be a Legends Sternguard datasheet to cover all the old options that aren't buildable from the new kit.

That's what GW did for Sisters characters, Chaos characters, and tons of various other stuff that had options that weren't carried forward to new kits.

Not sure on the Barbgaubts.

I take it the Barbgaunts are essentially a devastor squad. Maybe a way to bring back a form of the spike rifle. I'm all for giving gaunts a bit of firepower without having to call in carnifexes for artillery.

I'm curious to see if the neurogaunts will have any interesting abilities. They look like they have a "synapse" sergeant in the squad, at least.

I'm liking a lot of the new designs. Might have to bite the bullet and save up to get this set - both for the marine & tyranid side, even though I'll likely never play 10th, I still would like the models.

Generally liked the 40k models, though I am surprised in a not great way that there was a missed opportunity to update the Biovore and the Lictor. Hopefully both are coming with the codex. The Terminator Captain is fantastic.

If they were going to focus on the 40K launch it really would have helped if they had explained a bit better what was going on with the standalone rulebook. Was hoping we'd find out a bit more about how the Combat Patrol mode works too. Can people at the show look through the rulebook?

Didn't it what! Hopefully they pull their thumb outta their arse for the 30k reveals.

Also, aside from anything else. Did anyone else find those two presenters REALLY uninspiring? No excitement coming from them at all. Like, I know they are reading from a script, but it sounded totally phoned in. Where's the hype?

I really didn't liked the Termietain, looks like the fella is hunchbacked or has no neck.

Otherwise, the entire box is an absolute gem.

Close second are BABOULS and all the FEC. FEC! They finally have something since AoS started! (no counting endless spells or scenery).

MESBG was the biggest disapointment, no matter how neat the diorama is.

They were uninspired because the stuff the presented wasn't inspired, so it fits.

I don’t like to talk negatively about presenters because it’s something that would terrify me and almost anyone is better at it than I would be, but the guy who was with Eddie (or the two of them together) have consistently been pretty uninspiring. Adam and Eddie do at least have some chemistry, it almost seems like these two don’t get on or something.

Edit, also yeah as stated above, it wasn’t particularly inspiring stuff they had to talk about.

I wouldn't say they don't get on but more that they probably don't know each other and thus don't know how they'll take each others' jokes and banter.

This. Besides the helmet (and shoulder pad?) has anyone seen what the "adorned with relics and combined with parts from older armour marks to demonstrate their station in the Chapter" parts are meant to be?

Yeah, probably shouldn’t speculate on their relationship but that’s probably closer. Just ends up stilted and awkward. Again, certainly no worse than I would do!

I thought that the second stream was great. The new nighthaunt warband was awesome. The Stormcast are cool, the flesh eaters are great especially the leader with the face on his face and the halberd. While it's disappointing to only see one middle earth mini, it's the best thing they've done in ages and easily the best ringwraith sculpt they've ever done. That was the first thing at Warhammer Fest that I rated a must buy. The warcry roadmap also has me pretty excited about the future of that game.

Presenter #1 "So, have you been doing any hobby stuff for Warcry, Middle Earth or Underworlds lately?".

Presenter #2 "Err.. not really, no".

Big plans for Middle Earth sounds good, maybe a full Rings of Power release if they're saying there's big plans, but they're sworn to secrecy over all of it?

Really even ardent warcry fans aren't likely to be "doing hobby stuff" for it very often. You get a box set and get the contents built and painted and then unless you pick up a new warband here and there you're done. Not a game that invites hours and hours of hobbying.

They should get the designers on for these streams. John Bracken used to do live streams before he worked on Underworlds. Who better to evangelize your product than the people who made it?

My guess it the MESB stuff they refer to as being unable to talk about was planned to be revealed here but a last minute hiccup prevented it (eg somebody being off sick/on holiday over at new line so the appropriate form didn't get signed)

I imagine it's all part of the push to not have identifiable people in front of the camera in case they get too big for their boots and leave to do YouTube instead.

I'm quite surprised Wade is still allowed to not wear a balaclava or something tbh.
